There, Galthor had done what he could. Just because he was reborn into a new world doesn’t an he would automatically gain the experiences he never had.
He was as average as any man could be. Worse, he was bedridden as well. Maybe if his life was not held down by illness, he could have lived the most average life and died the most average death.
But as it stands, he was now a god, and things not known could be learned with ti.
Either way, the battlefield had changed. With the others holding the creature’s attention and the trees slowing it down and keeping it from throwing its weight around, they were able to focus on devastating attacks.
Karathra’s body began to glow as she took her ti to charge her next attack. All her essence seed to flow into her axe, and the weapon glowed like molten tal, making the air around her smother.
She gritted her teeth and began to swing her sword in a complicated manner of a technique.
Usually, masters have to learn different techniques to draw out the powers in them and make it do so things it wouldn’t otherwise do. In fact, so techniques would make so masters more powerful than they are.
Unfortunately, techniques like that were expensive and hard to co by. The Stronghide had none of their own, and perhaps there wasn’t even one that was made for barbarians. If there was, then it was long gone with ti.
The barbarian masters were left on their own in that regard and had to deal with things in their own way. They needed to practice and form their own technique on their own.
Power began to build up around Karathra, making the air flow around her like unnatural tiny tentacles. Suddenly, her technique finally took shape around her.
The essence flowed upward like a fog and then turned into a larger image almost fifteen ters tall. The image was the sa as Karathra and held an axe of its own.
She looked towards the toad monster and swung her real axe, and the projection also swung its own, the air whooshing and warping around her as the axe ca down.
The axe hit the side of the monster. The axe bit into the flesh and pierced through, cutting out chunks of muscle and fat. The toad monster roared and turned towards her, maw opened wide to swallow her.
And that was when Hrothgar attacked from the other side.
Hrothgar’s fists were covered by spinning red energy that ford sothing that resembled a drill. And when they hit, the energy exploded, the drill creating holes in the monster.
Although the toad had too much fat for him to hit anything vital, the blows were so painful that it staggered, wavering between Karathra and Hrothgar.
Its next mistake.
Karathra brought down the essence-projected axe of herself again, this ti on the head that turned toward her, on the side, directly on the monster’s head.
The monster bellowed in pain, flinching back as its left eye was busted. Yellow blood and pus gushed out. Its bulk staggered and wobbled as it tried to jump away, only to co up short as the chain that was tied to a tree yanked it down.
Hrothgar went in next. His drilling, explosive fist hit the monster’s hind leg, and he managed to break sothing as a loud crack sounded out.
Galthor grinned, whispering to himself, "Teamwork is the best. Who doesn’t know that? You don’t even need ! You can kill this thing by yourself! When you guys said Karathra is the strongest master around, you weren’t joking!"
But the next instant, sothing changed. The toad shuddered; every flesh in its body seed to wiggle as it shivered. Then it shrunk at an absurd rate that was absolutely visible to the eyes, great smoke pouring out of it as its fat and flesh evaporated!
Galthor was staring at it with a stunned expression, his face slightly darkening. He’d read lots of audiobooks to know whatever happened next wouldn’t be pretty. "All of you, get out of there!"
But it was too late.
Sothing moved out of the smoke—a blur so fast it appeared like a flickering shadow.
And it was headed right at Karathra!
She brought her axe to cross her front like a shield, and the projection did the sa thing. The blur hit her and tore through her projection before it hit her.
The blow was powerful, but it had been softened by the projection she created. Even then, she was sent flying backward as sparks flew up from her axe and her bones vibrated painfully, making her hands numb.
It happened so fast the other masters hardly had ti to react.
Hrothgar was the closest, and he got hit next. The bones of his fists cracked as he collided with the monster before he was sent back.
The monster then turned and moved toward the other masters, but it suddenly froze. The toad had shrunk to the size of the barbarians. Now its body was covered in corded muscles, its one eye glaring with a baleful expression.
The reason the monster froze was because it suddenly detected a threatening aura. It thought those two barbarians it first hit were the trouble. It was so wrong.
A dominating aura suddenly filled the air, making the space around appear thick as the pressure weighed down on the surroundings.
"That’s quite enough. I promised my masters a safe hunting if I was there. It won’t do for a chief to go back on his words, right?" Galthor said as he began to walk forward. Silver and red aura crawled across his body as he infused himself.
The toad watched in silence, and then it made another move. The warts on its body swelled and burst in a splash of yellow acid that splashed on it and coated it.
When the toad took a step forward, its footsteps began to lt the soil.
Galthor frowned gently. "That doesn’t look friendly. Why do you have to keep doing disgusting stuff?"
