"What the!" Galthor flinched, but the voice wasn’t done.

[You have slain a cursed monster, Noctis Howler.]

[You have received a blood sacrifice!]

[You have.....####### claim legacy to fully awaken Divine Interface.....]

Galthor went still for so seconds, but the voice was truly done this ti. He blinked. "I’ll be damned. I don’t get a system but I get a Divine Interface? What in the terrible god’s na is that?"

He sighed as he stared at the monster corpse. "It seems this is sothing that’s strictly related to the dead barbarian god. Maybe he was the one that created it and gave it that na... but what in the actual hell is a legacy?

Blood sacrifice? What is all this? Even though I can feel that I get a bit powerful, like a zero point one increase, I still don’t understand any of this."

Maybe slaying things would grant him an increase in overall strength? But blood sacrifice?

Unfortunately, even the mories, the little glimpse that had been making him understand how things worked so far, were of no help as well.

Just then, a powerful growl echoed through the lair. Galthor froze, then he frowned when he realized that it was his stomach. "I guess I have to eat first before I start doing any heavy thinking. I really hope you’re not bitter, Noctis Howler."

With that, he grabbed the head, pulling the tough fur at the forehead, then he went around to the feet and began to drag the monster out of the lair.

Galthor had slain a cursed monster, and he was itching to eat it.

"How am I going to see a new weapon now? It took almost all of the resources from the tribe to make that axe!" Karathra scowled and shifted uncomfortably. She took several steps towards the cave and hissed before she turned back.

A cursed monster was simply too much for her to handle. Then why did she entrust her axe to soone who she knew wouldn’t be able to kill the monster?

She might have gone on and on about punishnt, and while Galthor definitely deserved it, she had selfishly wished for a miracle to happen.

But really, why should she trust soone who had been a fool for their whole life? Just because they threw their weight around and showed so bit of power?

Brakthar gave her a look, both accusation and weariness in his eyes, as if to point out the fact that it was she that intentionally brought him to the cursed monster. But in the end, he settled for sighing. "Well, maybe you’ll have to wait for when the other banners finally co around to killing the monster."

Karathra gave him chilly silence.

Since Galthor entered the cave, the only thing they heard was silence and a loud shriek, and then nothing.

"I think... I need to join a banner. It’s the best way to protect what remained of the tribe instead of waiting for so miracles. We barbarians have no god, not anymore. We just have to..."

She stopped speaking and turned to Brakthar, who had kept silent throughout her little speech.

The look on the barbarian’s face was one of absolute shock and surprise. Karathra frowned. "What?"

Then Brakthar raised an almost trembling hand and pointed. "He... he’s..."

She turned around with a scowl, and then she froze, her whole body stiffening. A shocked whisper dropped from her lips. "What?"

Right there at the mouth of the cave was Galthor. His left hand held a monstrous head that was part bat and part wolf, his right hand was pulling on the leg of a massive monster, the war axe lodged in its spine.

Galthor... Galthor had killed a cursed monster.

Karathra took a step forward, and she froze again. She didn’t expect what she was seeing. At most, she thought Galthor would run out of the cave screaming if he wasn’t imdiately killed.

But he had actually done it. He killed the cursed monster like he said he would.

Reality seed to reset before Karathra, her mind boiled and settled as a fact took root solidly in her mind. There is a barbarian god.

How else... how else could one explain what Galthor had done? At the level of power that Karathra was, she knew for a fact what should and should not be possible.

Galthor should not have co out alive and mostly unscathed.

It was a miracle! He must have been blessed!

For Brakthar, all he needed was a little bit more confirmation, and when he saw Galthor walking towards him, he imdiately felt as if he was looking at a towering mountain, a thing of impossibility.

And for Galthor, as he watched them, he saw sothing. A red chain appeared around each of them and imdiately connected to him.

Galthor finally gained his first two worshippers.

Imdiately his Divine Interface tried to tell him sothing...

[Congratulations! You have gained.....###]

[Congratulations! You have gained.....###]

.....but he could only catch a bit of what it was saying.

"I really need to find a legacy to know what this thing’s deal is, but for now, I should study my first worshippers..."

He frowned and focused on the chains that only he could see, and imdiately so things beca clear. First, by gaining worshippers Galthor felt a tiny bit stronger, and secondly, he was now a confird lesser spirit.

He also knew a bit about them. He knew their level of power and their potential. He also knew how much they believed in him.

Brakthar believed in him the most, but for Karathra, it was more like she was dipping her feet into a pool and was going with one leg first.

One thing he felt the most, though, was their anger. It was like welcoming heat against his body, warming him from the inside out.

He got closer to them, and they bowed their heads lower in an instinctive way.

He grabbed the war axe and brought it over. "I killed the cursed monster. So what say you now, Karathra? Did I pass your test?"
