Chapter 1927: Chapter 1830: No Way Out
Li Jun refused to give in, casually picked a spot, and started digging with Su Qingqing and Yue Shuwen. After digging for ages, they still didn’t manage to scrape out even the tiniest speck of diamond dust.
And right at this mont, a startled cry ca from over there—it was Huo Sining’s voice.
Hearing the commotion, Su Qingqing and Yue Shuwen exchanged a look. They both realized sothing, scrambled to their feet, and rushed over.
They saw that where Huo Sining and Gu Xu were standing, a pit several ters deep had been dug open. Huo Sining was squatting down inside the pit, clutching sothing in her hand, her head lifted as she looked around with excitent and wariness.
"What is it? Did you dig sothing up?"
Su Qingqing asked nervously.
Huo Sining raised a hand and made a shushing gesture. Then Gu Xu carefully pulled her out of the pit. Su Qingqing and Yue Shuwen hurriedly crowded in. Huo Sining slowly loosened her tightly clenched fist.
When they saw what was in Huo Sining’s palm, both Su Qingqing and Yue Shuwen’s eyes flew wide open, their mouths dropped in shock, but they couldn’t make a sound.
"What’s going on?" Over there, Li Jun had been sitting and waiting for Su Qingqing to report what was happening on this side. But after a long while without hearing Su Qingqing’s usual chatter, he imdiately sensed sothing was off. He hurriedly stood up and rushed over as well.
When he saw what was in Huo Sining’s hand, Li Jun’s expression also froze, and he was struck dumb on the spot.
In Huo Sining’s hand, a yellow crystal the size of a quail egg was glaringly obvious!
Seeing such a big chunk of yellow diamond, even Li Jun couldn’t help swallowing. His heart started pounding faster, the blood in his veins began to boil, and for a mont his throat went dry—he actually couldn’t get a word out.
It was Gu Xu who stayed the most alert. He quickly moved in close to surround his wife in the middle of the group, blocking the vague probing and curiosity from not far away.
"Put it away first. There’s no rush right now. We’ll talk after we get back."
Gu Xu reminded her calmly.
Li Jun snapped back to himself and hurriedly said, "Right, right, no rush. Put it in your bag first, and be really careful—don’t drop it or let anyone steal it. We... we’ll all take your orders. You tell us where to dig, and we’ll dig there."
Now that he’d seen them dig out such a big diamond, Li Jun no longer dared doubt this master standing in front of him. So the girl really had been telling the truth—she really could analyze what was under the ground!
Light flared in Li Jun’s eyes. It wasn’t that he was obsessed with the diamonds themselves; he was addicted to the process of digging up a huge diamond. Man, if he could dig out a big chunk like that himself... that feeling would be insanely aweso!
Right now Li Jun was actually a bit regretful. If he’d known there was such a big diamond there, he wouldn’t have zoned out just now. He should’ve stuck close behind Gu Xu and followed orders! A thick wave of remorse flashed through Li Jun’s eyes, and he was filled with pounding regret.
Su Qingqing and Yue Shuwen’s expressions were also full of regret. They’d completely missed how that diamond had been dug out.
But the two of them were scatterbrained by nature, and soon their attention shifted to how much that diamond was worth.
The price of a diamond is proportional to the square of its weight—the bigger it is, the more expensive. At the sa ti, it’s also related to color. At the sa weight, a regular white diamond can’t compare in price to a colored stone. And the shape of the rough determines what kind of finished size it can be cut into.
But one thing was for sure: that huge diamond Huo Sining had just dug up—once it hit the market, its price would definitely be anything but cheap.
Earlier, Yue Shuwen hadn’t really believed those online claims that this park had produced the largest and highest-quality diamond in North Arica. But now, seeing the piece Huo Sining had just dug out, Yue Shuwen instantly changed her mind. Looks like that rumor was very likely true.
The size of the diamond Huo Sining dug out left all of them shocked and incredulous.
But they were all adults and knew that the lower profile they kept about this kind of thing, the better. The more they flaunted it, the more unpredictable danger they invited. Even Qibao had been warned by Huo Sining in advance.
So after Huo Sining spread her hand to let them have a look, Su Qingqing and Yue Shuwen exchanged a glance, and none of them shouted or made a fuss. Huo Sining quickly put the diamond back into her bag.
However, with that quail-egg-sized diamond setting the tone, everyone’s morale shot back up. Li Jun stopped insisting on acting on his own and even abandoned his earlier idea that this park only had diamond chips. He cald down and followed orders for everything.
To speed things up, Huo Sining still decided to split up. According to the original grouping, once she located a big diamond, she would hand it over to Gu Xu and Zhong Xiaoyao to dig out, then imdiately continue surveying. The next one she found went to Li Jun to dig. She kept scouting without stopping. By the ti she found the third diamond, Gu Xu had already finished digging his out. That way, their efficiency skyrocketed.
Of course, doing it this way ant the people digging needed really strong stamina. But there was no way Huo Sining could bring in outsiders for this. With such a shortage of manpower, this was the only option she had.
Maybe it was the diamond high, but even the pampered rich girls like Su Qingqing and Yue Shuwen stopped whining about being tired. Their combat power couldn’t compare to monsters like Li Jun and Gu Xu, but put together, they definitely counted as a solid labor force.
After Li Jun started following Huo Sining’s direction, it didn’t take long before he really dug up a big diamond underground. This one was a bit smaller than the quail-egg-sized piece Huo Sining had found earlier, but not by much, and it was a white diamond. Just that size alone would be enough to dominate the display cases of most jewelry stores.
Li Jun was shaken to his core. His understanding of this Huaxia woman deepened yet again. This woman really was as unfathomable as his father had said. And the more he interacted with her, the more he worshipped her.
It wasn’t just Li Jun—Gu Xu was also reaping rewards one after another. He finally understood what his wife had ant last night.
He’d asked his wife how exactly she planned to dig diamonds here, and Huo Sining had replied, as a matter of course, "Obviously we dig three feet down and implent a ’take everything’ policy. If there really are diamonds, we just clean them out, don’t we?"
Watching Huo Sining squatting as she surveyed her way along, Gu Xu silently offered his condolences to everyone associated with this Volcano Park. From the looks of it, his wife had no intention of leaving this park any way out.
