Chapter 1573: Chapter 1557: Drawing the Map
"Mr. Fujiwara, it’s not that I don’t want to, I really can’t see a way."
The Oil Rat also looked dejected. He wasn’t a deity, without a maze map, how could he find the way?
As soon as he finished speaking, Fujiwara Seiho’s gun in his hand had already begun to click off the safety, his previously humble and pleading expression twisted, changing faster than flipping a page.
The Oil Rat’s expression also changed abruptly, as he shouted in panic, "Mr. Fujiwara, I’m truly helpless, and besides, it’s really not my fault, who knew your map was fake?"
Fujiwara Seiho’s expression slightly softened, and the Oil Rat imdiately breathed a sigh of relief.
But unexpectedly at this mont, Fujiwara Seiho’s lips curled slightly, his eyes flashed with a sinister light, and he raised his gun to aim at the Oil Rat, staring at him coldly without saying a word.
"Mr. Fujiwara, at least we still have bombs. If it cos to it, we can just blow up this tunnel!"
Facing the gun barrel, the Oil Rat felt his whole heart go cold, almost kneeling before Fujiwara Seiho.
With a bang, a gunshot echoed, seemingly shaking the entire passage, the Oil Rat collapsed to the ground, his body going limp with fear.
When he ca to his senses, he realized that Fujiwara Seiho’s shot hadn’t hit him, but instead lodged into a crack in the listone wall.
"Let’s go back and rember every entrance and exit."
Blowing on the gun barrel, Fujiwara Seiho said slowly, "Mr. Oil Rat, what do you think?"
The Oil Rat, terrified by Fujiwara Seiho’s shot, was grateful to be alive, not daring to argue.
He hastily nodded in agreent with Fujiwara Seiho’s decision, grabbed his luggage from the ground, and moved forward.
Long Shan Zhang on the other side was already pale with fear, holding his breath and not daring to make a sound, worried that Fujiwara Seiho would point his gun at him if he was displeased.
anwhile, on another side, Huo Sining’s group was quite relaxed.
Due to the Bagua Chart on the previous trap code, when they saw the forked entrance, they didn’t rush in but waited for Huo Sining to make a decision.
Huo Sining didn’t actually understand any Dragon Vein Seeking thods, but braced herself. Unexpectedly, when she placed her hand close to the stone wall, she saw within dozens of ters, a network of intersecting paths appeared inside the mountain, extending in various directions, each with the sa characteristic, which left Huo Sining dumbfounded.
"These are not passageways leading to the Underground Palace!"
Huo Sining turned around, retrieved a sheet of white paper from her backpack, and quickly sketched out the largest range of passageways she could see, then pointed to the entrance of the passageway ahead:
"Entering from here, there are indeed two entrances, one leading to the left and one to the right, but I just discovered that no matter whether we choose the left or right entrance, when exiting the passageway, there’s always an exit from another direction aligned with this one."
While explaining, Huo Sining drew up all the passageway openings within dozens of ters, and summarized:
"In simple terms, this is actually an underground maze, a forked maze designed to confuse perception!"
"A maze?"
Miss Yue widened her eyes in surprise, and the others gathered curiously.
Upon seeing the layout drawn by Huo Sining, everyone couldn’t help but shiver.
"If we hadn’t figured this out and rushed in, would we have been trapped in this maze, never to find a way out?!"
Miss Yue felt increasingly horrified, fear evident in her eyes.
Mr. Huang nodded: "This is another application of binary logic. This forked maze is essentially 2 to the Nth power. Without a maze map, recklessly entering to find an exit ans you can only keep trying. But the probability, well, it’s 1 in 2 to the Nth power. The scale depends on how many routes the maze has."
The attendant who ca with Yue and Huang, surnad Chen, grew anxious on learning about the intricate nature of the maze:
"What do we do? With so many passageways, aren’t we dood if we enter? Getting out would require heavenly luck, it’s like courting death!"
Seeing Chen’s intention to back out, Mr. Huang couldn’t help but laugh:
"Why panic? We’re not worried. Haven’t you noticed? Since Miss Huo can draw part of the maze, naturally she can complete the rest. As long as we have the map, we can find the right path into the maze!"
Hearing Mr. Huang’s words, Master Chen’s eyes lit up. Yes, if Miss Huo can map out part of it using Dragon Vein Seeking, the rest shouldn’t be hard for her!
The group eagerly looked at Huo Sining with anticipation.
Huo Sining nodded and smiled: "Creating a full maze map shouldn’t be too difficult. The mountain isn’t vast, and the designer has limited space. I estimate the Underground Palace’s area doesn’t exceed two kiloters. However, to complete the map, I’ll need to explore the other directions. So, you all wait here, I’ll go in first, and once I’ve mapped the passageways, I’ll co get you."
Hearing that Huo Sining was going in first, Gu Xu’s eyes involuntarily showed tension and concern. He instinctively reached out to grab Huo Sining’s arm:
"Honey, this isn’t a ga. If it’s too much, don’t strain yourself. We can just wait for those two to co out; there’s no need to risk it."
Huo Sining felt warmth in her heart, smiled and patted Gu Xu’s hand: "Don’t worry, as long as I mark the places when entering and exiting, I can return the sa way, there won’t be any issues."
Gu Xu was still uneasy. One, because Huo Sining was a girl in a dark, scary cave, and two, because another group was inside. Gu Xu worried that once Huo Sining entered, she might encounter them.
"I’ll go in with you! If anything happens, at least there’ll be support."
Seeing Huo Sining ready to enter with a flashlight, Gu Xu hurriedly followed her.
