Chapter 1420: Chapter 1405: Epiphany

The monk was only about fifteen or sixteen years old, his face uneven with many pimples.

A hint of panic flashed in Huo Sining’s eyes as she glanced guiltily at the young monk.

Just a mont ago, while she was in that room, she had transford into the form of a Jiaoren, and the Flying Apsaras Mural on the wall had lost its luster after she absorbed its Spiritual Energy. If the young monk noticed what had happened just now, she truly wouldn’t know what to do.

While Huo Sining was entangled in her thoughts, the young monk, seeing the two of them erging from the room, unexpectedly approached them directly.

The young monk wore a simple smile without checking the room, his expression showing no sign of anything unusual, as if unaware of the unusual events that had transpired with Huo Sining inside. He brought his palms together in a respectful gesture and bowed, saying:

"Lady Benefactor, my master invites you for a eting."

"Your master?"

Huo Sining was puzzled. She didn’t know any monks from a temple. What would this little monk’s master want with her? Did the abbot of the temple realize she had ruined his mural and sought compensation from her?

Huo Sining was curious but did not voice her thoughts. Instead, she followed the young monk, stepping into the neighboring ditation room.

"Master."

The young monk pushed the door open, and the old monk seen through the wall earlier was sitting on a mat, eyes closed, continuously tapping the wooden fish before him.

Huo Sining pulled Qibao into the room. The old monk’s tapping didn’t cease, and after about three minutes, he finished chanting the scripture, pausing his actions, and casually waved a hand to the young monk, saying, "You may leave now."

The young monk sincerely saluted by holding his right hand upright before his chest, then turned and left the room, closing the door behind him.

At that mont, the old monk raised his head, his sharp eyes directly eting Huo Sining’s gaze.

His face was gaunt, with bony features, appearing kind and amiable. Yet, for so reason, at the sight of this monk, a wave of unprovoked anger surged in Huo Sining’s heart. Before she could ponder further, her body reacted swiftly.

By the ti Huo Sining regained consciousness, she had stepped forward and her slender hand was already gripping the old monk’s neck.

Startled, Huo Sining wanted to retreat instinctively but discovered her body was completely beyond her control.

Even more astonishing to Huo Sining, was in that instant, the Azure Pearl on her forehead suddenly erged.

The Azure Pearl seed furious, spinning ceaselessly. The Spiritual Energy, initially used by her to save lives, had now transford into a deadly weapon. It seeped from her wrists, transforming into durable ropes, tightly binding the old monk, as if intending to enclose and suffocate him.

Huo Sining was alard, recognizing the influence of the little Jiaoren’s emotions. However, completely immobilized, she could only watch everything unfold before her eyes.

As the Spiritual Energy unwound from her wrist, it slowly coiled upward around the monk’s neck, gradually enveloping him entirely.

To Huo Sining’s surprise, the tighter the Spiritual Energy wrapped, the more the old monk remained motionless, simply sitting quietly on his mat, his face showing not the slightest change, as if oblivious to everything transpiring before him.

"Cycles of transformation, yet in endless cycles, have you still not gained insight?"

At that mont, Huo Sining heard a sigh. She then saw a golden light radiate from the monk’s body, and in no ti, it intertwined with the Spiritual Energy from the Azure Pearl on Huo Sining’s forehead.

Shrouded in golden light, the Azure Pearl, seemingly unwilling, spun rapidly, forming a cyan vortex, strenuously opposing the golden light. Yet, its resistance proved futile.

After only a few minutes of struggle, Huo Sining observed a blinding flash of golden light, heard a cracking sound, and the Jade Clean Bottle, which she had recently repaired and rehung around her neck, suddenly shattered into pieces, falling to the ground.

The originally resisting Azure Pearl fell silent, its once erald glow faded, becoming dim and lusterless.

In that brief mont, all that transpired left Huo Sining utterly astounded.

Staring at the fragnts of the Jade Clean Bottle on the ground, Huo Sining felt sowhat flustered, instinctively reaching out to touch the ground.

Fortunately, despite the Azure Pearl’s dimness, the Spiritual Energy was still present, and the Heavenly Eye had not vanished.

Relieved, Huo Sining blankly stared at the fragnts of the Jade Clean Bottle before her, as monts of these past two years flashed through her mind like a slideshow.

It was thanks to the Water-Repelling Pearl that she had risen quickly in the betting and treasure appraisal circles.

Without this Water-Repelling Pearl, she might still be languishing in so low-rent apartnt, struggling with various part-ti jobs, without money, connections, or family.

If her Special Ability enabler disappeared due to the little Jiaoren’s contest with the monk, she would have to explore things bit by bit in the days to co, and in the short term, she might not know how to manage herself.

Huo Sining understood well that she was overly reliant on the Water-Repelling Pearl—a dependency that would soday lead to disaster. Yet, without it, she couldn’t quite express how she felt.

Humans are like this—greedy, reluctant, when losing sothing once possessed.

The monk, bending over, collected the broken pieces of the pendant, smiling as he returned them to Huo Sining, "Benefactor, to return what was yours."

"Master, this pendant..."

Huo Sining forced a bitter smile, intending to inquire, only to be astonished as she looked down and found the old monk had, with a wave of his hand, restored the pieces into a complete Jade Clean Bottle.

Stunned, Huo Sining raised her head in shock to look at the old monk.

As if seeing through Huo Sining’s thoughts, the monk smiled gently, saying, "Benefactor, all is emptiness, besides the true heart, all is illusion. Since it’s illusion, why cling to it? Coming is but coincidence, leaving is the only certainty."

Huo Sining was montarily stunned. Though the monk’s words were vague, she understood so part of it.

The Water-Repelling Pearl and the Heavenly Eye were indeed accidental gains, enabling Special Abilities had brought ease to her life these two years. Precisely because of this, she had long forgotten that these abilities were not her true capabilities.

Her persistent concern was about how to live once her enabler disappeared, not realizing that before her rebirth, she lived cheerfully without the Water-Repelling Pearl. If given another chance, would she resign herself to failure without these powers?

With this thought, Huo Sining felt a sudden clarity in her heart.

She was never one to acquiesce to fate. Heaven had blessed her with so much, yet her life was fleeting, just several decades. She should endeavor more, instead of causing herself needless worry. With or without the Pearl, she should mindfully take every step forward!
