Chapter 708: Chapter 708: Sarcasm
The answer was unveiled, but Zhuang Rouhui stood frozen in place, speechless for a long while.
She couldn’t believe this answer, finding it utterly absurd.
“It can’t be, absolutely not her.”
Li Ruyu chuckled coldly twice.
“Why can’t it be? Because soone like you can’t give birth to that kind of child?”
Although Li Ruyun extrely detested Yue Qingqing,
as twins with a connected conscience, Li Ruyu actually understood that Li Ruyun’s loathing was largely born out of frustration and jealousy.
He had once secretly watched Yue Qingqing from the shadows.
The girl was beautiful, with a smile that brought a twinkle to her upturned eyelashes and eyes.
Like a little sun, her sincere warmth radiated to everyone who saw her.
Because of their similar facial features and appearance, he and Li Ruyun had speculated about Yue Qingqing’s identity back then.
But Li Ruyu felt it was highly unlikely that she was his sister.
How could his family, mired in the muck, give birth to a child like that?
But facts proved that Yue Qingqing was indeed the child of Zhuang Rouhui and Li Fuhong.
So was it because she grew up in a completely different environnt that she had such a smile?
Li Ruyu found it incredibly ironic.
His expression, when it fell into Zhuang Rouhui’s eyes, was particularly grating.
“Li Ruyu, tell the truth, I don’t want to listen to your nonsense.”
“This is the truth. If you don’t believe it, you can get the test yourself,” Li Ruyu didn’t want to talk to her anymore, his gaze falling on the hospital bed.
“You can leave now, you’ve got the answer you wanted, there’s no need to stay here any longer.”
Zhuang Rouhui, plagued with a guilty conscience, yet eager to know the outco, could only hastily leave a ssage.
“Take good care of Ruyun, mom will co to see you in a couple of days.”
In a couple of days?
Li Ruyu gripped Li Ruyun’s hand expressionlessly.
“No need, you’d better not show up in front of us ever again.”
Zhuang Rouhui raised her hand as if to slap him again, but under Li Ruyun’s indifferent gaze, she couldn’t bring herself to follow through and retracted her hand angrily.
“You’re just like your dad, no wonder you’re his offspring, you’re both heartless ingrates.”
Li Ruyu waved his hand dismissively, not even bothering to glance her way.
Furious, Zhuang Rouhui stamped her foot and slamd the door behind her as she left.
Although she got the answer from Li Ruyu, Zhuang Rouhui still couldn’t bring herself to believe it.
Sitting in the car, she recalled Yue Qingqing’s face.
But every ti she saw the girl, all she felt was revulsion—how could she rember what Yue Qingqing actually looked like?
“Just a natural-born debt collector,” grumbled Zhuang Rouhui.
Even knowing Yue Qingqing’s true identity, she still couldn’t bring herself to like her.
In Zhuang Rouhui’s eyes, everything stemd from the fact that she hadn’t given birth to a boy in the beginning.
Otherwise, none of the subsequent events would have happened.
Maybe she and the Li Family wouldn’t have any barriers, and Li Fuhong wouldn’t have gone looking for other won.
Zhuang Rouhui felt that nothing good ever happened when she encountered Yue Qingqing, but now, in the midst of this inheritance division, she had to bring her in.
But how could she be certain whether Yue Qingqing was indeed her daughter or not?
What if it’s all a big misunderstanding?
After much contemplation, Zhuang Rouhui thought of soone.
She pondered for a mont before calling Zhuang Yuebin.
“Brother, happy new year, yeah, there’s been so trouble at ho, that’s why I’m only giving you new year greetings now.”
Zhuang Yuebin chuckled, “Rouhui, are you calling because you need sothing?”
Family knows family best; based on Zhuang Rouhui’s personality, she wouldn’t be calling out of the blue if it wasn’t important.
Zhuang Rouhui confird, “Yes, there’s sothing I need to ask you, are you and sister-in-law at ho? Is Xiaolan there? Studying at ho, right?”
“Then I’ll co over, I want to ask Xiaolan about sothing.”
After hanging up the phone, Zhuang Rouhui instructed the driver to turn around and head to her brother’s house.
Whether she was or wasn’t, perhaps she would soon have the answer.
