Chapter 83: Chapter 84: The Fight Resus

After a long while, the child’s crying finally ceased, and Pei Huaian’s expression softened slightly.

“Master, why was it the Commandery Princess of Ninghe who poisoned, yet Doctor Shao who went? And why did the Commandery Princess of Ninghe not recognize Doctor Shao?” Ah Mo couldn’t help but ask again.

Pei Huaian thought of what Shao He had said today, his eyes darkening as he spoke, “It must be that she intended to poison Chu Yu but entered the wrong room.”

Ah Mo was secretly shocked, having not expected the situation to be this way. As he pondered, a sudden epiphany struck him, “Master, you an…”

“You may leave now.” Seeing that he understood, Pei Huaian interrupted.

“This subordinate will take his leave.” Seeing that his master seed to have unspeakable secrets, Ah Mo did not press further and quickly left.

...

After Ah Mo had left, Pei Huaian looked into the distance, his thoughts running deep. The thought that Chu Yu had gone to great lengths to kill his child brought a murderous intent to his eyes.

The next morning on the royal court, Chu Yu was targeted deliberately. morial after morial accused him, and The Emperor, upon seeing those morials, scolded him furiously.

After the court session, the more Chu Yu thought about it, the more wrong it seed. He felt there had to be sothing fishy, yet he could not find any flaws, even the ministers who usually had good relations with him remained silent.

“Go check on Young Master Pei,” Chu Yu instructed the guard behind him.

“Yes,” the guard responded and left.

Three days later, the guard returned with the results of the investigation.

Indeed, it was as he had thought, but the guard also brought another piece of news.

“Reporting to the Marquis, this subordinate has also discovered that the Prince seems to be very interested in Doctor Shao… it is said that whenever Doctor Shao encounters trouble, he quickly arrives on the scene,” the guard hesitated for a mont before swallowing the words “Madam.”

“Oh?” Chu Yu raised an eyebrow, extrely surprised. The Prince, who did not even care for the Commandery Princess, seed interested in a woman who had had a child, which was hard to believe.

This greatly displeased him, believing that Shao He was still his possession. As long as he did not let go, Shao He could not be close to anyone else!

Chu Yu’s sinister gaze fixed on the path ahead, and he snapped the willow branch he was holding.

“This subordinate also learned that Doctor Shao is currently treating the Prince for a leg ailnt.”

Chu Yu’s lips curled up in a cold smile, surmising that Pei Huaian’s fixation on Shao He was due to her dical skills, increasing his curiosity about when Shao He had learned dicine.

Shao He had never ntioned in the mansion that she knew dicine; why had she suddenly changed after leaving, becoming completely different from before?

Chu Yu gathered the servants in the mansion to inquire if any of them had been treated by Shao He, but they all shook their heads in confusion.

One of the nannies spoke up, “Madam never showed any signs of knowing dicine while she was alive.”

“Marquis, Marquis…”

Chu Yu looked at Steward Zhang running towards him, breathless, and spoke irritably, “What is it that has you so flustered?”

“Old Madam, Old Madam…”

“What happened to Grandmother?” Chu Yu grabbed Steward Zhang’s lapel.

“Old Madam and Miss Luo are arguing again.” Steward Zhang, frightened, blurted out the news, hardly daring to breathe.

Chu Yu kicked the steward away, more aggravated and headache-ridden than usual, “Arguing, arguing, arguing, always arguing! What is it over this ti?”

“This old servant doesn’t know either,” Steward Zhang said sowhat wrongfully as he got up from the ground, bowing respectfully.

Seeing his cringing manner, Chu Yu was infuriated and pushed him away, “Useless, how do I end up with such a bunch of useless people!”

Despite his reluctance, he headed towards Old Madam’s quarters; this kind of scene was not the first.

In the room, Old Madam was repeatedly pounding her chest, a trace of blood still un-wiped at the corner of her mouth.

“My chest hurts, my chest hurts.”

Hearing incoming footsteps, the nanny quickly regulated her breath, whispering in her ear, “The Marquis has arrived.”

Upon hearing this, Old Madam wailed even louder, “She really wants to anger to death!”

And kneeling on the ground, Luo Jiner was crying even more, her tears streaming endlessly as she dabbed her eyes with an embroidered handkerchief.

Seeing the scene before him, Chu Yu rubbed his temples, quite headache-stricken, “What now?”

“Yuyu, you’ve finally co. Grandmother is nearly being angered to death by her,” Old Madam said in a weak voice.

The nanny chid in, “Old Madam’s health has been deteriorating, and she can’t handle much distress. See, she’s spit up blood again.”

Upon hearing this, Luo Jiner pinched herself hard on the leg, tears filling her eyes as if she had been gravely wronged, kneeling silently.

“Marquis, she’s gone too far, claiming that we are only maids in the mansion, unfit to be your concubines. She mocks us coldly and even hit us!” one of the concubines said.

Another concubine agreed, “Yes, Marquis, she even deliberately tripped us, snatching away cakes and brocade silks, saying we don’t deserve them.”

“You’re lying; clearly, you bullied my lady first and even pushed my lady to the ground,” a servant girl by Luo Jiner’s side defended.

“You’re the one turning accuser first!”

“You are the ones turning accuser first!”

The scene once again turned chaotic, and Chu Yu’s head swelled with the noise. He roared, “All of you shut up!”

The room fell silent; even a pin drop could be distinctly heard.

Even Old Madam stopped her “ow, ow” complaints, and Luo Jiner forgot to cry, with everyone’s gaze turning towards Chu Yu.
