Xiao Shian’s sharp eyes swept to the ground, and indeed he saw the towel stained with blood.

"What happened to her?"

The question was clearly directed at the maid who, terrified, knelt down with a thump and stamred her reply, "I don’t know... I really don’t know."

Pei Huaian ignored them and walked over to the bathtub, where he saw a wrist still dripping blood, his dark eyes tinged with a trace of blood.

His voice was as cold as a specter, "Speak! Who did this!"

"Cough... Master, spare my life... please spare ..."

The maid was utterly terrified and hastily begged for rcy, hoping that the young master would spare her.

Unfortunately, Pei Huaian’s eyes were already bloodshot, and his body emitted fierce murderous aura as if he was about to destroy everything around him.

Seeing this, Shao Hua finally couldn’t hold back, stepping forward and saying, "It has nothing to do with her, I did it."

She was scared, but she knew she shouldn’t let the maid take the bla for her.

Xiao Shian restrained his tyrannical deanor, released his grip, and threw the person to the ground.

"It’s you again!"

The maid fell to the ground and hastily clung to Pei Huaian’s thigh, crying and pleading, "Yes, it was... When I was bathing the young lady earlier, I accidentally dipped my arm into the water, I ant to dry her with the towel, never thought it would touch her wound."

The maid cowered, not daring to look directly at Xiao Shian, fearing she might be killed in the next second.

But what terrified him more was the thought of the young lady getting hurt.

The maid whispered in a low sob, "I’m sorry... I’m so sorry... It’s all my fault."

"No, it’s not like that."

Shao Hua shook her head desperately, trying to explain but not knowing where to start.

Pei Huaian kicked the maid aside, stord towards Shao Hua with rage in his heart.

The maid scread, threw herself in front of Shao Hua, blocking Pei Huaian’s way, "Young Master, please spare my lady!"

"Get out!" Pei Huaian roared, grabbed the maid, and flung her harshly.

The maid was thrown several ters away, finally crashing heavily against the wall and falling to the floor.

"Puh—"

Blood splashed out, staining the bluestone tiles red.

The maid curled up in pain, her face covered in tears, her lips trembling without forming complete words.

Shao Hua stood dazed, blankly rooted to the spot, her mind blank to the extent that she even forgot to check on the maid’s injuries.

Pei Huaian looked down at her from a height, sneering, "You truly are a lingering soul!"

Startled, Shao Hua looked at him with fear.

"What nonsense are you spouting?"

Pei Huaian scoffed coldly, showing no rcy as he punched Shao Hua in the stomach.

The pain coursed through her limbs instantly, Shao Hua cried out in pain, clutching her stomach, her forehead breaking out in a fine sweat.

She gritted her teeth, her gaze defiant as she stared at Pei Huaian.

Pei Huaian’s lips curled sarcastically, "Don’t you know if I’m talking nonsense?"

Shao Hua took deep breaths continuously, trying to contain the rising urge to vomit, "I..."

"Why would you hurt her?"

Shao Hua took two steps back, her face turning sowhat pale, "I didn’t..."

"Slap!—"

A crisp slap interrupted all her words.

Shao Hua, clutching her hot cheek, stared blankly at Pei Huaian.

She had once thought Pei Huaian easy to get along with, but now she knew just how terrifying a man could be when enraged.

She even had the illusion — he seed to want to kill her.

"Why don’t you speak! What grudge do you have with her to treat her like this!" Pei Huaian yelled.

Ah Mo, hearing the noise, ran inside. Before he could get around the screen, Pei Huaian slapped him away.

"Get out, no one is allowed in!"

With a sweep of his hand, the door instantly closed; at that mont, Shao Hua truly understood the terrifying extent of this man and realized that she had provoked the wrong person.

But now it was too late to say anything.

Pei Huaian approached, his handso yet frosty face close, "Was it you? Did you dare to harm her?"

"I... I didn’t... I’m innocent..."

Pei Huaian gripped her neck, "Still daring to argue!"

His strength was too great, and Shao Hua couldn’t break free, feeling increasingly suffocated, her pupils slowly dilating.

"Mmm mmm... Help, help ..."

Pei Huaian, looking at the dying woman, suddenly felt a disinterest.

"Bang!"

Suddenly he let go of his hand, and Shao Hua fell to the ground, gasping violently.

Seeing the dire situation, the maid hurried out to find soone. She stumbled out just as the Lord of the Prefecture arrived.

"Why are you here?"

"My lord, the young lady... the young lady is in trouble!" the maid gasped desperately.

"What exactly happened?" The Prefectural Governor, hearing of his daughter’s trouble, imdiately turned pale.

"The young master inside is about to kill the young lady!"

The Prefectural Governor hastily released the maid and rushed over, seeing Ah Mo with blood at his mouth and asked, "Guard Mo, what happened to you?"

Ah Mo raised his hand to wipe the blood from the corner of his mouth, "The master flew into a sudden rage, likely related to Doctor Shao’s injury."

"What?"

The Prefectural Governor imdiately pulled the maid aside and demanded, "What exactly is going on here, speak up quickly!"

The maid could only lay out the events plainly, causing the Prefectural Governor to break into a sweat, infuriated.
