Chapter 615: Chapter 617: Deliberate Seduction
The woman on stage suddenly tiptoed lightly and floated down beside Pei Huaian, flashing him a sweet smile.
She reached out for a wine cup on the table, poured him a drink, then fell into his arms, positioning the cup at his lips.
Pei Huaian quickly raised his hand to block her, and using the montum, he threw the woman from his embrace. Holding the wine cup, she landed steadily, not spilling a single drop, which instantly earned applause from the surrounding crowd.
At that mont, Shao He felt a tinge of displeasure, which she swiftly suppressed.
Just as Pei Huaian was about to leave with Shao Hua, he heard the woman behind him speak, “Young master, please stay.”
“What else do you want?”
“It’s your first visit here, isn’t it?” Shao Hua stood up and slowly walked towards him.
Shao Hua looked stunning with a hint of blush on her face, appearing very enticing.
Pei Huaian paid her no heed and walked straight out.
Seeing this, Shao Hua flashed a hint of annoyance in her eyes and imdiately chased after him to stop him.
“It’s rare for the young master to co by, you can’t just leave so hastily! I have prepared a performance for you today, and I hope you will enjoy it…”
Pei Huaian stopped, giving her a sideways, indifferent glance.
Seeing him stop, Shao Hua’s face lit up with a hint of joy.
She raised her hand to tidy her ssy hair, softly asking, “Would the young master honor with his presence?”
As Shao Hua spoke, her delicate and pale arms already wrapped around his neck, standing on tiptoe to reach his ear.
The warm and moist breath on his earlobe tickled, causing Pei Huaian to frown.
“Scram…” He spat the cold word without another glance and walked past her towards the door.
Seeing him unmoved, Shao Hua’s expression turned extrely ugly; she ground her teeth and whispered fiercely, “Don’t neglect the wine only to be forced to drink a forfeit. Let tell you, fancying you is a blessing you cultivated in three lifetis; otherwise, you’d never set foot in here again.”
Shao Hua’s reproach drew the attention of others, making them turn their eyes towards her and the man before her.
Pei Huaian’s expression grew even colder, his whole deanor emanating waves of chill that made people shiver involuntarily.
He suddenly turned back, his piercing gaze fiercely fixing on Shao Hua, and his thin lips parted slightly, “Speak another half word, and I’ll kill you.”
With those words, he strode toward the door and left.
Shao Hua, stunned by his harsh, domineering words, stood frozen for a while before she ca to her senses.
She stomped her foot in anger, her fingernails digging into her flesh, causing her to grimace in pain.
Nobody had ever been indifferent to her beauty, and she refused to believe she couldn’t win over this man.
Shao Hua was indeed the owner of the tavern and usually ca out to dance for the guests in celebration, but few knew her true identity.
“Miss, since he is so oblivious, why not…”
The man’s words were cut short as he received a slap; Shao Hua glared at him nacingly, “Why not what? If you don’t want to stay, just get out of here!”
As the man was about to retort, two hefty n suddenly walked over, grabbed him, and threw him out.
Seeing this, everyone else who had stepped forward also stopped in their tracks, not daring to move a step forward for fear of being thrown out like the man was.
The man playing the piano on stage chuckled as he stepped down, his face smiling as he spoke, “I never expected the Miss to be so genuinely candid, what a surprise.”
Shao Hua rely glanced at him indifferently, without uttering another word, and turned to enter the back hall.
She curled her fingers and put them to her mouth to whistle, and a dark shadow, like a ghost, descended.
“Go and find out where those two n just now are staying, and what their identities are.”
“Yes.”
Soon, the shadow disappeared.
Pei Huaian and Shao He casually chose an inn and settled down.
Pei Huaian sat at the table in the room, holding a teacup, quietly savoring it, his mind sohow restless.
Feeling sowhat unstable, he shook his head to try to shake off the irritability in his mind.
Just then, a crying voice suddenly ca from outside.
“Oh, my child, is there anyone there!”
“Save my child!”
“Save him, please!”
The sounds of wailing rose, causing the inn’s guests to open their doors.
“What are you wailing about in the middle of the night?” a gruff man spoke irritably.
It was evident he had been awakened by the noise, hence the displeasure in his tone.
The woman kept crying out, “My child is ill; please, save him!”
“My child, my child!”
The man, very angry, said, “If your child is sick, why don’t you go to a hospital? Why cry here?”
“I…he…”
The woman, anxious and unable to express herself, rely continued to cry incessantly, patting her child’s back.
Shao He heard the cries and left her room to approach the woman and ask, “What’s the matter?”
“My child, he’s choking!”
“He choked on sothing he was eating!”
Seeing the child’s face turning blue, Shao He quickly perford ergency treatnt.
She wrapped her arms around the child from behind, folded her right hand into a fist, placed it on his upper abdon, and pressed her left hand on her right fist, then forcefully pushed up and back on the child’s upper abdon.
After one compression, she relaxed and repeatedly did the action many tis, until the child, who initially seed lifeless, suddenly began to vomit.
