A familiar scene flashed through Shao He’s mind, and she suddenly developed a headache. Her vision blurred, and she nearly fell to the side.
Fortunately, Pei Huaian was quick to support her, his tone urgent as he asked, "Are you alright?"
He had never imagined that one day his dream would co true. His Ah He had finally returned; she was right by his side!
"Ah He..."
Pei Huaian excitedly grabbed her hand, "You’ve finally co back! I waited two months, hoped for two months, and now I have finally brought you back."
"Two months?" Shao He was slightly stunned, "I don’t rember, I don’t know you."
"Ah He, I really am your husband!" Pei Huaian tightened his grip on her hand, eager to tell her the truth.
"You... you’re spouting nonsense!" Shao He struggled, pulling her hand away from him.
Pei Huaian’s eyes dimd, "Ah He, why won’t you acknowledge our relationship?"
"I don’t know you!"
Shao He coldly rejected him and turned to leave.
"Ah He!" Pei Huaian rushed forward and hugged her, his voice hoarse as he shouted, "It doesn’t matter if you don’t rember , just being willing to co back to is enough."
Shao He felt suffocated by his embrace, her face turning red.
"Let go of !" She struggled fiercely, but the disparity in strength between n and won was too great. She couldn’t push him away.
"Let go of ... cough, cough!" She started coughing violently, her eyes rolling back.
Scared, Pei Huaian quickly picked her up and laid her on the bed. He frantically wiped her sweat and soothed her back, watching her with heartache.
"Ah He, wake up!"
Shao He felt as if her chest was ablaze, as though a scorching fla was burning her, making it unbearably uncomfortable.
She slipped back into that dream, but this ti it was different; the man was walking toward her with a child.
The dazzling light prevented her from seeing the man’s face, with only the sound of a child’s cry near her ears.
"Mommy, mommy."
"Mommy, I missed you so much."
"Mommy, where are you?"
Shao He slowly lowered her hand, trying hard to see the newcor as a thin mist mysteriously rose around her.
She exerted all her strength and suddenly opened her eyes.
She was greeted by a strange room, strange furnishings, a strange environnt.
"Ah He, you’re awake?" a gentle voice reached her ears.
Shao He looked up and saw Pei Huaian’s familiar handso face, weakly asking, "Where is this?"
Pei Huaian furrowed his brows, "This is an inn."
Shao He abruptly sat up from the bed, throwing off the covers and ready to leave, but Pei Huaian held her shoulders.
"What’s wrong with you? Do you really not rember ? I am Pei Huaian!"
His words shocked Shao He, her mind spinning rapidly to sort out her thoughts.
"I indeed forgot a lot of things; just let go! I need to go back."
Pei Huaian looked solemn, his gaze intense, "Do you truly not rember? We are already married! Have you forgotten your child, and your husband as well?"
Husband? Child?
Shao He stiffened, standing frozen in place.
"Ah He, stop this, co ho with ."
He leaned in close, reaching out to touch her pale cheek.
"First let go..." Shao He tried to avoid his touch, but it was futile.
Pei Huaian’s lips landed on her forehead, the soft touch making her involuntarily tremble.
"I won’t let go, we’re already married, you’re my wife."
"You’re talking nonsense... hm..." Shao He’s eyes widened.
She had been kissed.
The bastard, how dare he?
Shao He bit hard on his lip. Pei Huaian yelped in pain, and she took the chance to push him away and jump off the bed, putting on her clothes to flee.
Just as she reached the door, she was pulled back.
"Let go of ! Get away from ..."
"You’re very weak right now, don’t move around recklessly." Pei Huaian went after her and grabbed her, "What you need most right now is rest!"
"Get away!"
Shao He pushed him forcefully away and staggered a few steps back before she could steady herself.
"You..." Pei Huaian watched her in shock, her reaction being too extre, making him wonder if he had made a mistake?
"Don’t interfere with , and don’t try to do anything to ! I will hate you to death!"
Shao He coldly warned him, the icy look in her eyes chilling to the bone.
Pei Huaian felt a pain in his chest, her deanor like a sharp knife brutally stabbing into his heart, blood dripping profusely.
"Ah He, listen to !"
"Get lost!"
Shao He covered her ears, shaking her head frantically. She didn’t want to hear his voice anymore, nor did she want to stay with him any longer. She just wanted to get far away from him, to escape him, to hide far away.
"No!" Pei Huaian lunged forward to hold her, "Just give a little ti, let explain everything to you."
"I don’t want to hear it!" Shao He beat his chest desperately, tears uncontrollably running down her face.
"I beg you, don’t push away." Pei Huaian pleaded, "Anything you want to know, I’ll tell you everything."
Shao He’s headache was severe, she clutched her head tightly, moaning in pain.
Pei Huaian’s heart tightened, he asked cautiously, "Ah He, what’s wrong?"
Shao He closed her eyes in agony, another image appearing before her, she was unconscious, barely hearing the crying of a child.
"Ah He, don’t be afraid, I am with you, I will protect you." Pei Huaian’s words echoed in her mind.
The headache gradually eased a bit, she opened her eyes, seeing those worried eyes gave her a sense of familiarity.
