Chapter 483: Chapter 485: Heading to the dical Hall
“Qingxia sister, you are so beautiful,” Yun Hua said, catching up to Qingxia with a giggly expression.
Shao He quickly pulled her aside, “Are you hungry? Let’s go eat.”
“Yeah, Qingxia, aren’t you always the foodie? Let’s go have a al,” Qing Shan joined in.
Surrounded by them, Qingxia hurried to explain, “No, it’s not that, I…”
“Enough, let’s go inside to eat,” Pei Hanze said coldly.
Qingxia cald down under everyone’s gaze and squeezed out a smile, “Yes, I am a bit hungry.”
“Perfect, we’ve already prepared breakfast, co and eat,” said the woman’s voice from behind, a tray with food in her hands.
Shao He took the initiative to help, “Allow , we are already very grateful that you took us in, it would be improper to trouble you further.”
“It’s nothing, it’s rare for outsiders to co here, we haven’t had visitors in a long ti,” the woman said with a delighted laugh.
Taking the opportunity, Pei Hanze asked, “Has it been a while since outsiders have co to the Naless Village?”
“Yes, ever since rumors spread that our village was infected with a plague, no outsiders have co here. In fact, many avoid the people from Naless Village completely,” the woman said, lowering her head with a look of helplessness.
Pei Hanze and Shao He exchanged glances, it was obvious the rich man had lied. If truly no outsiders had co, then what about Ah Mo?
But they both remained silent, and the woman set the food on the table before turning to leave.
Everyone eyed the food on the table, hesitant to start, until Yun Hua suddenly grabbed her chopsticks and began to eat heartily.
Qingxia quickly tried to stop her, “Have you lost your mind?”
“Delicious, it’s really good,” Yun Hua said, looking up with a smile like an idiot.
Pei Hanze also picked up his chopsticks, “Eat. Since he hasn’t died, it ans the food isn’t poisoned. Perhaps those behind this don’t wish for us to die so soon.”
Only then did the group start to eat. After the al, they went to Ah Mo’s room.
Shao He’s acupuncture on Ah Mo was completely ineffective, which posed a challenge for her. The place wasn’t suitable for taking out dical instrunts, nor could they perform a full-body examination.
Ah Mo continued to babble incoherently, as if he had sothing to say to them but couldn’t get the words out.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, and everyone inside the room imdiately beca alert.
“Miss, do you need help? We have a doctor here, very skilled at treating illnesses.”
Shao He looked at Pei Hanze who nodded, then she stood up and opened the door.
“Thank you, madam. Where might this doctor be? Would it trouble you to fetch him for us?”
“Well… this Doctor is in the eastern part of the village. I have children to look after at ho and really can’t make the trip for you,” the woman said sowhat awkwardly.
Shao He nodded nonchalantly, “No worries, thank you anyway.”
“Ah, well, then I’ll take my leave,” the woman turned to leave.
The exchange was heard clearly by everyone in the room. Pei Hanze hesitated, “I should go.”
“No,” Shao He imdiately rejected the idea.
“It’s far too dangerous. It could be a trap set to lure us out and pick us off one by one. We cannot operate separately now.”
Her words made sense, and they decided to bring Ah Mo with them in the end.
As they walked out of the courtyard, the woman watched their departing figures with a smirk of success.
As the sun hung high in the sky and a gentle breeze blew by, the group did not feel the warmth; instead, there was a chill in the air.
“Why are there so few people around the village in broad daylight? And not a single child to be seen,” Qingxia murmured as she looked around.
“It seems the rich man’s child has never appeared outside either, always staying in the room, right?” Qing Shan added.
As they conversed, they arrived at the eastern end of the village at the dical hall where a man in a black robe stood in the middle of it.
Ah Mo beca agitated upon seeing him, struggling on Yun Hua’s back. Pei Hanze noticed the odd behavior and pulled Shao He’s hand to stop her.
“Co in and sit,” the man in the black robe invited, calmly pouring a cup of tea and sitting inside the dical hall.
“It’s him, it’s him…” Ah Mo struggled desperately to point, but he couldn’t utter a full sentence.
“Who are you?” Shao He asked.
“Soone who wants you,” the man in black robe slightly lifted his eyes; the face beneath the robe was deathly pale.
Pei Hanze stepped in front of Shao He, “Did you do this to Naless Village?”
“No, they did it to themselves,” the man in the black robe suddenly laughed.
anwhile, the villagers began to gather around, and the man in black also walked out from the dical hall.
“Co here,” he beckoned Shao He with a gentle tone.
Pushing the person in front of her aside, Shao He took a step forward, “What do you want?”
“I need a favor from you,” he replied.
“What kind of favor?”
“To save soone.”
Shao He frowned, “And to save one person, you’re willing to harm so many?”
“No, no, no, they all volunteered. I never forced them,” the man in the black robe shrugged innocently.
Shao He certainly didn’t believe his words and responded with a scoff, “The demon ntioned by the old lady, that’s you, isn’t it? It seems to you’re intent on destroying this village.”
