Chapter 242: The Oath Is No More

Others seed confused and passed curious glances at each other to try and understand what was going on, but Cassandra understood. She could sense Sahli’s emotions, and there were so many at that mont. Cassandra leaned closer to Siroos and whispered.

"That’s her lover. The Goddess of jealousy had turned him into a hound and was using him against her, what a vicious goddess."

Siroos sadly shook his head at that sad fate.

Sahli quickly took off her upper gown and covered the naked, unconscious man; she was barely holding back tears at that point. Her face behind the veil had hardened as her hands shook when she touched the love of her life. She had thought she had lost him but he was in front of her all along.

"That witch, look what she turned you into." She fought back a sob and went on her knees, her hands slowly caressing the man’s handso face, he seed to be in a deep sleep. She brushed away the dark hair from his forehead. He was exactly the sa as she had rembered him.

"Now that is a strange turn of events," Faris whispered, not believing what he witnessed.

Lotus and Cassandra exchanged looks and the forr nudged her head. Cassandra gave a silent nod and moved forward towards Sahli. Placing a comforting hand on the shoulder of the grieving goddess she softly said.

"Let

help."

Sahli turned her head towards Cassandra with a silent plea in her eyes and tears shimring like diamonds.

"Please!" She whimpered.

Cassandra kneeled beside her and placed her hand on Aras’s chest, healing him and unfreezing his heart which had been brimd with malevolence and all kinds of negative energies.

Everyone watched, srised as Cassandra wove her magic, and the man slowly stirred, and gradually, his eyes opened.

Sahli gasped with her hand on her mouth and tears spilled out of her grieved eyes.

".....Aras!" She choked out his na and he lifted his head to watch her in confusion. The brain fog finally lifted from his head and his mories returned. The darkness in his eyes evaded as her face was registered in them and he slowly gathered himself and straightened up.

Cassandra smiled and silently retreated seeing the light return to his eyes as he blurted out.

"Sahli?"

Too emotional to speak she could only nod and threw herself in his arms. He efficiently caught her and pressed her to his heaving chest.

"Oh! Sahli. I am so sorry, love." His words voiced his undying love for her which was laced with so many regrets.

"Awww! I am not crying," Faris sniffled to Aiko and she patted his head with her lips bunched up.

Cassandra felt Siroos’s arms around herself as he murmured in her ear.

"You did good. Their story is different from what the old man told . I guess facts got jumbled over ti." The old man had ntioned a husband for Sahli but the real reason why she left was entirely different.

Razial and Lotus had their eyes peeled on the couple in awe.

"I am glad she found him, Razi."

" too." He placed a small kiss on Lotus’s temple and kept his arms around her waist.

Aras rubbed Sahli’s back as she silently cried in his arms and spoke in broken words.

"I thou–ght I lost yo–u."

Aras humd into her dark luscious curls. "I was lost in my own body. There is so much I wish to tell you, but first, I need to thank everyone who ca to my rescue."

His eyes wavered to CAFLRS, one by one and halted at Cassandra.

"You are brave. I rember my powers couldn’t affect your heart. Thank you for setting

free."

She openly smiled at him, easing his heart even more, filling it with love and casting out the darkness.

"That cos with the job, my companions helped. You are back where you belonged."

Others gave their approval with nods.

"Not to brag but my mighty axe did the trick back there. That was so tough armour you had," Faris winked. His words made the mood light, and the gloomy atmosphere dimd as laughter rang out.

Sahli ceased her tears as she turned to watch the gallant heroes who had set her lover free.

"Alpha Siroos, I free you from your oath. From this day forward you are a free man who is no longer burdened by the oath of not producing an heir with his mate. There will be no consequences to your mating with your goddess of love. I wish both of you create chaos under the sheets and bring about at least a dozen children. Mock the god who cursed you, may it be lifted soon."

Her words brought forth these swirling winds which ford a small twister of black and red energy and stord towards Siroos and Cassandra. It twisted around them, making their hair stand on end and charging their bodies with an unknown force.

Stumbling away it flew towards the opposite wall and removed the strange scribbles carved on it. They disappeared as if they had never existed. The oath Siroos had taken stood nullified. He was free of that burden.

"Siro!" Cassandra threw her arms around her mate and hugged him so tight. He seed dazed by what Sahli had revealed, his wide eyes and even wider mouth took their sweet ti to register what she had revealed.

How many tis he had dreamt of this mont and now that it was here, he had been rendered mute. His heavy arms crushed Cassandra to his hard chest as the Alpha buried his neck into her hair and breathed in her scent. He couldn’t wait to beco one with her.

"That was quite a blessing. Make babies soon," Faris snickered, rushing towards his stunned brother and SIL and embroiling them in a hug. Cassandra shyly smiled.

"Group hug." Lotus rushed forward and wrapped her arms around them. "I am so happy for both of you. Make

an aunt soon." She winked at them and Siroos pursed his lower lip in a half-shy laugh. Cassandra hugged her sister and held back happy tears.

"We will."

Aiko and Razial were pleasantly smiling and genuinely delighted for them.

"Thank you! Sahli." Cassandra finally turned to the other goddess and a deep understanding passed between them. Both were bound to and in love with these mortal n.

Sahli winked back at her.

"I will visit you people when you have children, go lift that curse off of you."

Their journey was not complete. They had to reach that tree, unlock Cassandra’s powers and break the curse on the pack.

"You are always welco at Dusartine as long as you won’t pin us with another such oath," Siroos joked, guffaws of laughter followed his words.

"I won’t, only positive oaths for you and your tribe from now on. What you people did for , can’t even be thanked in words."

"Will the both of you be fine?" Cassandra questioned, afraid that the goddess of jealousy might interfere again or try to take Aras away.

"I have him back now and he can testify in front of the council of gods what had transpired all that while ago. I don’t have much hope since they all are rotten, but at least this will be highlighted, and she will have no ground to co for him again. This ti I will be ready."

Cassandra agreed with Sahli. They never intervened in her case, rendering her an adulterer and rendering it the business of the family. They believed Arkiam had every right to discipline his daughter for being a cheater. Not realising this was a forced match and she never consented to be Kalthian’s betrothed.

After the pleasantries were over and they settled matters related to the oath, Sahli etched the exact location of the tree in Aiko’s mind by placing her hands on her temples. Aiko closed her eyes and visualised the image, imagining the place and where she would be opening the portal too.

"You can open the portal from here and go there directly, easy and quick," she said, completing her task and extracting her hands.

Aiko opened her eyes and turned towards her companions. They all seed ready and eager to complete this final part of their journey and return ho.

"Should we do this?" She asked with a sly smile.

"Yes!" Everyone chorused.

Aiko swiftly moved her hands and opened the portal. They waved at Sahli, who was now snugly seated on her throne with her lover at her side and her three Erinyeses behind her.

"May we et again but only under blessed circumstances. Not going to let anyone hold my destiny in their hands," Cassandra said her final words as they left the realm of the goddess of Oaths behind and entered the land they had been asked to reach in the prophecy.

The land where the tree of hope grew and stood tall and mighty right before their eyes. Cassandra lifted her head and cast a satisfied glance in its direction.

"We are here."
