Chapter 186: Cassandra Is Alive?

The vampire monarch barely escaped with his life after Siroos attacked and burnt his palace down. With his son gone missing, he could only assu the worst for him too.

They searched for him or his body in every nook and corner of their kingdom but found no traces.

Enraged, he decided to pay a visit to Tholarian and plan the next course of action with him.

He knew that even though Tholarian feared the dragon, they could defeat him together since he possessed strong magic and his kingdom brimd with mages.

Taking his commander along they reached the Kingdom of Speldaria. Tholarian welcod him as he had sent a ssenger ahead to inform him of his arrival.

But sothing seed odd with Tholarian, the man seed to be in grief too.

They t in his study with Stephanie present still donning all black. Lotus and Razial’s disappearance had not gone down well. The royal army had been unable to locate them as if they had vanished into thin air.

Their scents had faded inside the castle and no traces were found as Lotus had ensured it using potions.

The guard in the dungeon had reported seeing a woman who attacked him and feared that she might have helped them escape. But no one could locate the girl or had ever seen her before.

The guards guarding the dungeon and Lotus’s room were severely punished for neglecting their duties and letting them escape.

Stephanie was beyond furious with the situation and personally vetted out punishnts on the guards. She still raged on after that.

"Sothing needs to be done about that dragon shifter, he burnt down my castle and now Kanyon is missing as well. I fear the worst, both my sons are gone," Drudius inford them in a haggard voice.

The strain of losing both his sons was proving to be too much for him and he had begun to lose his mind.

"Kanyon is missing?" Stephanie sharply asked, her eyes nothing but pits of darkness. Tholarian shifted uncontrollably in his seat, hearing that. First his daughter and commander went missing and now Kanyon too.

"Yes, he had prepared a trap for that unhinged beast by taking Cassandra from him and bringing her to Volsra. The plan was to lure him to our kingdom. We were prepared to kill him but apparently, he possesses magic too. None of our weapons and spells worked on him and he cut through our defenses like a blade through an apple." Drudius picked up the gold tankard brimming with red wine and took a sip to calm his nerves. They seed to be on fire.

Tholarian’s ears pricked hearing the na of his youngest daughter.

"Cassandra was in Kanyon’s custody? Where is she now?" This was news to him but Stephanie smugly crossed her arms over her breasts, thinking her sister was dead hence the reason her mate had gone on a rampage.

"Yes, but she escaped. A few of my warriors saw her disappear into a portal along with that boy pretending to be the Alpha during the Arena Battles. One of the warriors recognised them since he was here with

during the event."

A mad rage coursed through Stephanie like a tsunami wave, hearing Cassandra was still alive.

Had she been tricked?

Did Kanyon lie to her?

Her magic roared underneath her skin, threatening to spill out like a bursting volcano. Closing her eyes she contained her volatile magic and addressed her father.

"She can’t stop stirring trouble, now she has caused Kanyon’s disappearance. This calls for war against the shifters." Sohow she made this seem like Cassandra’s fault when she was the most innocent in all this conflict.

Tholarian was not that convinced with this line of thinking. He was still in a treaty with Siroos and attacking him without a reason seed far-fetched to him. Besides it was Kanyon who kidnapped Cassandra and instigated war. He had no desire to jump into this brewing tension between shifters and vampires.

But most importantly he feared Siroos.

"She is still your sister Stephanie and she didn’t start this. I was the one who told her to take part in the arena and she obeyed." Tholarian’s answer didn’t please Stephanie and she continued to fu.

"I understand your apprehensions because your daughter is involved. But he took both my sons and right now I am burning in revenge. For the old tis’ sake, let’s shake hands against him. We will be at a disadvantage if we head over to his lands and attack but I am asking for your support in case of another one mine. That dragon is a threat to our very existence, he can burn away whole cities." Drudius tried to contain himself but his hands shook as he placed the tankard back on the table.

"If Siroos is to attack again, you will have my support. I can send so mages along so they can strengthen your defences." Tholarian tried to provide the best way out of this precarious situation. There wasn’t a need for him and his kingdom to jump into this uncalled scenario.

"I will go, I need to find Kanyon. From what I know about him, he always has so trick up his sleeve, he can’t just disappear," Stephanie declared, taking a bold step forward.

The thought that her plan had sohow failed infuriated her. Lotus was missing and Stephanie wondered if they had known and connived with Siroos and his brother. She knew Drudius would do anything to avenge his sons and she could have vampires and mages at her disposal if she was to convince him.

Tholarian had already lost Lotus, Stephanie’s declaration didn’t sit well with him.

"But.." he began.

"Father, let

go. That dragon killed the love of my life and I can never find peace until I plot his death. We can strategise in Volsra and when the ti is right, we will attack. Even a dragon must have a weakness apart from his mate. I just have to find it," she ominously answered. Her dark shadows hovered all around her.

"Accompany , Stephanie. Kamyn would want you to avenge him," Drudius agreed and although Tholarain didn’t hold the sa view Stepahnie always got what she wanted.
