Ding!

{User has received a ssage from the outer world}

Kai lifted his head, then sighed. ’Damn outers, I thought they had finally gone silent for good.’

"What happened?" Neko-sensei asked him, leaning over to sit beside him on the floor.

Kai glanced at his ntor, then looked down, his hair veiling his eyes. "Nothing, just so annoying pieces of..." Kai paused midway, then sighed again.

"Before I forget, I wanted to ask you sothing."

Neko-sensei raised a brow. "What’s that?"

Kai hesitated for a mont. "If what you said about the shift in powers is true, then why do you still use the old terms when teaching and speaking?"

Neko-sensei stared at him, then chuckled lightly. "Well, I don’t think there’s any reason for or any teacher for that matter to tell the students about the change in powers, since most of them won’t even reach that level." She paused, folding her legs toward her chest. "But for in particular, it’s not that easy to change the nas of things, even after awakening..."

She turned to him, studying his profile, then faced forward again. "Plus, I never underwent the awakening ceremony, so even though my system evolved, it only did so two years ago. And since it was a self-awakening, I haven’t fully accepted most of the terminologies."

Kai turned to Neko-sensei then said bluntly. "So... you’re just slow."

Her face twitched slightly, as her fist struck his head. "If I’m slow, then you are too."

Kai mumbled under his breath. "Well, I won’t argue with that."

She turned to him then frowned. "What was that?"

Kai shook his head. "Nothing, just talking to myself."

For now, before the awakening ceremony and the eting with the royal family, Kai knew he had to understand most of this world’s terminology.

Even though he knew a majority of them, he still had to learn the rest, in case he went around and said sothing he shouldn’t, while being unaware of what he should.

Neko-sensei pulled herself up, offering Kai a hand. "Let’s go back for today."

Kai nodded, gripping her hand firmly. "Okay... but I still need to go to the library."

Neko-sensei agreed with his words. "Yes, but not today at least. You’ll be discharged tomorrow, right?"

Kai nodded.

Neko-sensei thought for a brief mont before responding. "Then should I co and get you?"

Kai stared at her, then averted his gaze. "No, my friends will co pick ."

"Huh?" Neko-sensei exclaid. "Why did that look of yours feel weird to ?"

"It’s just in your head," Kai said, moving closer to the exit.

Neko-sensei simply stood where she was, smiling at his back. ’Feels like I’m raising a child at this young age of mine.’

{Elizabeth Roswell is thinking about how adorable you are and how she wants you to be her child}

Kai turned slowly to his teacher, who was lost in her own world, then sighed. ’Crazy. Why is everyone in this novel so insane?’

----

The rest of the day passed rather quickly, since Kai didn’t have the privilege to idle around, actually, he had a lot of ti to sit around, but because of how uneasy he still felt due to the peace, he had to do sothing useful with his hands.

At first, he just played a bit with his stats and weaving, which contrary to its na and regular sewing that he knew, was actually quite enjoyable.

Because of this, he was able to push his mastery of weaving to level two, but he was still rather puzzled by the question marks that represented how much of weaving he was ant to master.

He had also discovered a few interesting things about his technique.

Like the fact that he could not only forge weapons with the threads that are ford in the universe, which he could control with his core using Alpha’s translucent primordial threads as a tether of so sort, but he could also form spells with them.

The only issue was that he couldn’t create anything useful with it, since his mastery was low and restricted.

After multiple failed attempts, kitchen knives were the best he could manage.

Still, his control over the threads didn’t restrict what he could do with the energies in the universe, at least to a certain degree.

Just like he had suspected, and through Alpha’s guidance, Kai was able to understand how weaving with energy functioned.

Which was by linking his threads, whether physically or ntally, to the threads connecting throughout the universe, and by doing this, while adding his mana, he wasn’t just able to manifest things from his previous skills, but also various types of elents he could perceive in his surroundings.

His limitations were only the amount of threads he could detect and how intricate he could weave them to be.

Simple flas or sparks didn’t require much ntal and physical exertion compared to massive fireballs. And if he wanted to make it a fireball that could track a target, well... it wasn’t quite plausible at his level.

After experinting with weaving and reviewing his skills, most of which were now just a list of affinities, each labeled with an "understanding" tag, Kai began to grasp how they influenced weaving.

Understanding an affinity, after all, was essentially the sa as understanding the mana threads flowing through the universe.

That ant, the more he deepened his comprehension of an affinity, whether by watching others use it, studying it directly, or acquiring an ability related to it, through Shadow of Dominion — the more his mastery would grow.

The only downside to these changes, was that there was no clear way to know what exact abilities he had, except for his main talents. And because of that, he could easily forget an ability he had before once he obtained a newer, more powerful one.

’Just have to reach the peak of understanding, then my abilities will only be limited by my imagination.’ Kai grinned at such a possibility.

However, the truth was, just like with weaving, there was no definite goal to master it, just three question marks filling the space.

He sighed, lying back on his bed.

Just like during the night, the hospital was quiet, with almost no sound.

With his enhanced senses, stemming from him applying weaving to clairvoyance, he could pick up things happening on the ground floor without even using the skill, simply by tracking footsteps.

’At least I won’t get assassinated on my way to the capital.’ Kai looked outside. The weather had been strange since the incident occurred.

He sighed, then stared at the ceiling. "It looks like it’s going to rain."
