"No, my lady. We were ordered to bring you with us as soon as possible."

"Is it about his granddaughter’s illnesses?"

The man with sharp eyebrows and hardened face glanced at the young man beside her. "Yes, my lady."

"Alright. I understand." She then turned to the young man in the red robe. "I’m terribly sorry, Lord Xiao Hûo... Or perhaps, would you co with as well? I believe Uncle Yigao would be very happy to see you and hear your opinion about this pressing matter."

Ash sighed in resignation. He couldn’t possibly reject her invitation after everything that she had done for him.

"Alright... I will co with you."

The group opted to summon the horse-drawn carriage that they hid in the alleyway as a ans for their transportation. Though they could fly from South Borough to North Borough directly in just a few jumps, they couldn’t risk this sensitive matter to be sniffed by other great families within the city. Even the presence of Tang Yigao himself was enough to raise suspicions from the other Council Leader and the Mayor himself.

As soon as the carriage had stopped in the courtyard, Yunxian trotted out of the carriage, running straight toward the main living room in the middle.

There, Tang Yigao, who was in a very exhausted state, was sitting on the couch with a complexed look. However, his face imdiately brightened as soon as he heard Yunxian’s flute-like voice.

"Uncle Yigao!" She displayed her utmost reference by kowtowing before him. "It’s been a while, uncle. I wish you were in good health."

Tang Yigao imdiately rose from his seat, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"Ah! Niece Yunxian! It’s so great to see you again. Please, raise your head. You are the host of this house. You shouldn’t be kowtowing in front of people like that."

"Yes, uncle."

"I am so sorry for barging into your house without notice in advance. As you may know already—" Tang Yigao’s words stopped at the end of his throat by the ti his gaze landed on the young man in Fla Wolf Stag’s Fur Robe. He almost didn’t recognize him at first due to the pressing matter in his mind.

"Ah! It’s you!"

"Good afternoon, Lord Tang Yigao. It’s my honour to et you again." Ash bowed sincerely before the Grand Elder.

Yunxian couldn’t help but be bewildered by their friendly interactions. "Did both of you et each other before?"

After glancing back and forth at Yunxian and the young man, Tang Yigao laughed earnestly. "Hahaha! I see, I see! That’s what happened, huh? Surely, the world is indeed so small! Seems like our fate had entwined with each other. Isn’t that right?"

"It seed so, Grand Elder Tang Yigao. I beg your pardon for not introducing myself properly in our first eting. My na is Xiao Hûo."

"Hey!" Yunxian pouted her cheeks, putting both hands on her hips. "Will anyone explain to what has happened?"

"Ahh, it’s a short story and yet a very fortuitous one. Co, co, let’s talk about this over a cup of tea."

Afterward, Ash told her about what happened that night and how he helped Tang Yigao to escape from death. However, Yunxian was very confused by the ti Ash ntioned how he could help her uncle, a Nascent Soul Cultivator, to recuperate from his wound within a very short amount of ti.

Likewise, Tang Yigao was very curious as well. "That’s right... I didn’t think about it very deeply since I need to chase those Wu bastards. How exactly did you do that, Xiao Hûo?"

Ash sighed once again. He then makes them promise to never speak about this matter outside this room.

"We swore upon our ancestors’ graves to never speak about this."

"Very well."

After Tang Yigao’s disciples left the room, Ash rose from his seat, unlocking the limiter that suppressed his overflowing Primordial Qi. Both Yigao and Yunxian were flabbergasted.

However, both of them mistook him as soone who has an innate Phoenix Bloodline! They have never seen sothing like this before. Right now, both of them could perceive his true Cultivation Stage, Early Qi Gathering Realm!

"By the Gods! The legends are true!"

"Wh-what legend?" Ash was askew.

"It was said in many ancient manuscripts that soone who had the Phoenix Bloodline would eventually lead this realm into prosperity for both Human Cultivators and Immortal Beasts!"

In all honesty, Ash couldn’t care less about prophecies. It’s just made up lies to control the masses after all. Afterward, he suppressed the Primordial Qi. His Cultivation Stage was also decreased significantly and made him look like just an ordinary 3rd Stage Body Transformation Realm Cultivator.

"I think that’s enough. From now on, I wish we would never disclose this matter ever again. I only did what I thought was right and just to do. Nothing else."

Yunxian, on the other hand, still couldn’t believe that Early Qi Gathering Realm was the upper limit of his Cultivation Stage. "Uncle, is he perhaps..."

"Enough, my niece. You shall not press him any further. I couldn’t even perceive the full extent of his Cultivation Stage either. If he wants us to believe that his true strength is capped at Qi Gathering Realm, then so be it."

"Yes, uncle."

Ash then slumped back into his seat, looking at Tang Yigao scrutinizingly. "Now, would you let hear the story of your granddaughter."

"Right, ilan... my dear granddaughter, the one and only." Yigao rested his back against the couch. "She has a very weak heart. Her cultivation wouldn’t advance no matter how hard she tried. We have tried thousands of thods to elevate her body constitution yet to no avail."

"How about her parents?" Ash inquired.

"They all died on the battlefield when she was just a little kid."

"By humans?"

"Unfortunately, yes."

Ash twitched a bit, hiding his anger.

"However! I finally found the perfect thod to save her future!"

After a quick observation of what had happened to his granddaughter, Ash could guess what’s inside Tang Yigao’s mind. "By implanting the Infernal Worm’s Heart into her body?!"

"How did you know?!"

"Does it matter though?"
