"Alright, general, if anything happens, try not to kill anyone. I will be heading off." Kana did not wait for an answer before disappearing, leaving the general standing there in awe at his new empress's power. He quickly rushed off to tell his n of this story.
When Kana returned to the palace, she was t with a desk full of stacks of papers once again. Xue stood off to the side, looking up at the ceiling as if it was the most interesting thing in the world. Kana sighed as she sat down and asked: "Xue do you want to beco empress?"
"Your Highness, please do not say such a silly thing. Only those who wish to work themselves to death would beco empress." Xue teased. She was glad that her empress was not soone who was easily angered and liked to joke around. Otherwise, Xue would have had to hold her true personality in, which she had already done for so many years.
"You make it sound like I was stupid for taking up this post! But, I did agree to do it, so I will do it fully until I can pass on the position to an heir." Kana sighed once more as she rubbed her belly. She wondered when the new baby would be born. She did not know why having a large family was so important to her. She only knew that she wanted the biggest family possible.
As the days passed and Kana began to finalize many things in the kingdom, Kana finally got good news. "Your Highness, you are pregnant." The imperial physician was all smiles. He had been hounded by the court to make sure that the empress was given as many nourishing foods and dicines as possible so he would give birth to an heir. Now that she was pregnant, he hoped those old n would leave him alone for a while.
"Criege!" Kana's eyes began watering up as she hugged her Handso Husband, who was smiling away but also had a tinge of worry in him. He wondered if it was a boy if Kana would begin to rember their past together. The thought of her disliking her new baby because of a past that was filled with tornt did not sit well with him.
"Your Highness, you must do less these next few months. You are already four months pregnant. So please take care of yourself." The imperial physician did not wish for anything to happen to the empress's child, or he would be held accountable!
"Don't worry, I am strong!" Kana said with a smile. She did not feel tired or anything. She only knew her belly would definitely grow bigger over ti. Luckily she was much more powerful than she was before. So she did not fear anything bad happening to her baby.
The next day after getting good news, Kana decided it was ti to remove the barrier around her empire. She wanted to open the world to the Devan Empire. Let them see what a world with advanced technology can do not only for cultivation but also in the way of life of others.
"How are things?" Kana asked as Angelica and Rain walked in. They had been helping her much more as of late with the paperwork so that Kana could rest more.
"The roads are now finished. And the new policies on cultivation in schools have been implented. They will now focus half the day on cultivation while the other half is on normal education. The colleges have also been built and are already getting applicants. Along with proper resources for cultivation, this should expand our abilities beyond the current ans by many thousands. The more people we have getting smarter and learning trades, the more we will be able to have newer innovations and progress faster." Angelica replied.
"Yes, daycare with minimal education has also been implented to give those with lower status and inco a chance to raise the next generation of elite cultivators. However, there has been so pushback from the Wang Clan. The other two main clans have seed to have sided with you by donating large amounts of cultivation resources to the schools and are even sending their children there." Rain let out a sigh. "The Wang clan seems to have had many of their children arrested due to bad behavior in public, such as abusing those of lower cultivation. While most of it has been small, petty cris, they were still arrested without bail due to being from the Wang clan and will serve a minimum of one year in prison until the Wang clan changes its ways."
"Hmmm…. I figured after losing a son, that old goat would have smartened up, but after only being quiet for a short ti, his family is already running loose again. Any complaints about their family mbers being arrested?" Kana asked.
"They had filed many complaints saying that the empress is targeting the Wang clan and wish to sue you because of it." Rain replied while laughing. "When they brought the lawsuit to court, the court threw it out on the basis that the empress would never wrong the people of the Devan Empire."
Kana chuckled and leaned back. "They are fools to think they can sue when it was their own actions that have caused this."
While Kana talked with her two daughters, Bi Ling was currently walking down the street with the new spiritual qi strawberry ice cream. She was happily wagging her tail back and forth as she took licks of her ice cream and looked around at the newly built, bustling city. "Sister Bi, soone is following us…."
"Mmm… i, want to play along with them?" Bi Ling asked.
"Why not? It's not like they can hurt us. So if you want to play around with them, then I don't mind." i Ling replied.
Bi Ling smiled as she turned down an alley. Not more than two seconds later, her head was wrapped in a bag, and she was being hauled off sowhere.
