Kana woke up a few days later. Her wounds all healed thanks to Liu Na's daily care. She had cleaned Kana up from head to toe and put fresh robes on her, and made sure to change her bandages twice a day. She banned any visitors as well to make sure Kana could rest well and recover. Fei and the others did not argue about this. But they also did not leave the courtyard. They stayed there quietly cultivating, waiting for Kana to wake so that they could all go out and explore the sect together.
"Mhmm… Handso Husband's at stick…." Kana mumbled as she licked her lips. Liu Na, who had just walked in, froze when she heard Kana mumbling. It was the first ti in the past few days since Kana ca back from the trial that she had made a single sound. Although she did not understand what a Handso Husband at stick was.
"Kana?" Liu Na called out in a low voice. She did not want to wake Kana if she was still in a deep sleep.
"Hehe… Handso Husband, we can't do those kinds of things in public. Why are you being so naughty!" Kana mumbled again as she rolled over and began chewing on her pillow. "at…."
Liu Na's cheeks were red as apples when she heard Kana's words. She finally understood what Kana ant by at stick… She put the bowl of water and the towel she had brought in on the side table before walking to Kana's side and pulling the pillow out of her mouth. "You shouldn't eat that you will get a belly ache. How about eating so real at."
"at!" Kana rolled back over and sat straight up. Her forehead colliding with Liu Na's chin, sending her to the floor. "Huh? at? Where's my at?" Kana's sleepy eyes looked around. Her colorful hair was all over the place. She even had a piece sticking up on the top of her head entangled with her black halo.
"at…. Who said at, and then there is no at! Are you trying to tease !?" Kana's eyes began watering up. There were not many things that would make her cry, but teasing her about at was one of them.
As she looked around, she finally spotted Liu Na sprawled out on the floor, her chin slightly swollen. "Nana!?"
"Kana, you're awake!?" A voice ca from outside. Fei slowly opened the door and peeked in.
Kana looked over at Fei with teary eyes. "Fei, soone said at, and now there is no at, and Nana is passed out on the floor with a swollen chin! I think there was a at thief! Nana must have tried to protect the at and was knocked out by the thief!"
Fei really did not know what to make of this situation. Who in their right mind would steal at!? She also did not know what to think about Liu Na passed out on the floor. Although the situation seed very surreal, Kana seed very adamant that there was a at thief. "Fei, what are you doing!? Call Elder Ning and tell him a at thief broke in and stole my at and knocked out Nana! Quick before they eat my at!"
Fei had no ti to think as she quickly turned around and ran out the door to go get Elder Ning. She ran all the way to Elder Ning's quarters which was a good thirty minutes away. She burst through the door to find Elder Ning sitting there sipping tea only to spit it out due to the sudden intrusion. She hunched over and put her hands on her knees, sweat dripping from her brow as she tried to catch her breath.
"What!? What's the matter!?" Elder Ning asked. He did his best to keep his normal stoic expression. But it was clear that he was very surprised by Fei's sudden entry.
"Kana… at… Stolen… Thief…" Fei replied while gasping for air.
"What!?" Elder Ning was confused. But since it seed to have sothing to do with Kana, he wrapped Fei up in so spiritual qi and flew off with her towards Kana's courtyard.
When he entered the room, he was t with Kana rocking back and forth with a passed out Liu Na in her arms. "Nana, don't worry, Elder Ning will find the at thief and avenge you! And most importantly, save the at!"
When Elder walked in and heard this, he wanted to facepalm. He wondered why this girl cared so much more about the at! Doing his best to compose himself, he finally asked: "Kana, what happened here?"
"Oh! Elder Ning! You have to give us justice! Nana was knocked out by a at thief! And they stole my at!" Kana, who was on the verge of tears, explained.
Elder Ning's lips twitched. He looked at the red mark on Kana's forehead and then at Liu Na's swollen chin, and he kind of grasped what might have happened. "Fei!"
"Yes!?"
"Go get Elder Shaun here to look at Liu Na and then head down to the kitchens and get a few plates of at for Kana. Make sure they are big portions." Elder Ning ordered. Fei, who was already ready tired from all her running quickly ran off to do as she was told. After she left, Elder Ning looked at Kana and said: "We will investigate who this… at thief is… and will give you an answer. For now, help the Liu girl to her room. It is not good for her to lie on the floor like that."
"Okay! And thank you, Elder Ning. Make sure you beat the at thief into the ground. How dare he steal my at! If I were to find him now, I would roast him with my fire! How dare he steal my at!" Kana felt anger welling up within her. She wanted to string up this thief and beat them senseless!
As Kana left, Elder Ning let out a long, drawn out sigh. "Just how much does this girl love at!? She is even dreaming about ath thieves!"
