Such power was sothing Kana could only dream of. But she really wondered why this old man was able to give off power that was greater than even that damn old man who was forcing her to go through all these trials just to see her family. What Kana did not account for was the fact that the lower plane she was on, the cultivation realm reached a certain limit, and with her powers being sealed, it only felt like this man was very powerful. If she were to extend her soul, it would cause the old man in front of her to shutter and kneel in reverence of her strength. If Ako was not so startled by the sudden pressure, she would also realize this as well. But this old man's strength truly felt frightening. Even if he was only at the pinnacle of the plane they were on, it was still strong enough to make anyone underneath his cultivation level to feel suppressed.
Even the pressure outside the place they were in now was the sa reasoning. All of it had to do with just how powerful the man was in a world where things were decided by their own laws. But this did not an that all life forms on this planet were weak. There were very powerful beings living on this planet. Any one of them could face off against the powers of Aurora.
"Relax, little ones. I will not bite." The old man said with a smile as he reigned in his spirit pressure. "Sorry about that. It has been so long since I was laid to rest here that I have forgotten to keep a check on my powers. This should be good, right?"
"Huh? Ah yes…" Kana was stunned. She felt the air around her lighten up, but she still looked at the old man with great caution.
The old man looked at both Kana and Ako and found the pair to be quite amusing. One was a rank five divine beast who acted like a mother hen protecting her child. While the other was a peak body fortification realm cultivator who was also… "Hmmm? Little girl, you are dual cultivating both beast core and human cultivation?"
Kana frowned. She felt like the old man could see right through her. This angered her a bit since the only man allowed to see her naked with her handso husband! She quickly used one arm to cover her chest and her other hand to cover her lower half as she glared at the old man. "Can you not leer at ? I am already married."
"Pfft… Ahahaha! Little girl, fret not. I did not peek at you." The old man let out a loud laugh. He was not offended in the slightest. He was really just curious as to what species this little girl was.
She had a human appearance and lizard-like features of so kind. He pondered for a mont before his eyes finally lit up. He clapped his hands together as he asked: "Little girl, are you a fla lizard mutant!?"
"I'm a dragon, you old coot!" Kana yelled in anger. She was not so lizard! She was a mighty dragon! Her early fear of the old man all washed away as her annoyance and anger rose. She was a proud dragon who could spit fire and shake the heavens with her mighty roar! (and could do cute posses...)
The old man gave Kana a funny look. It was clear as day with the face he was making that he did not believe her in the slightest. But since she seed to be about to flare up again, He decided not to argue about it. "Alright, anyway, let first congratulate you on making it to this temple and surviving the first part of the inheritance trial of my Phoenix Stare Temple. The pressure you felt outside was created by an array formation inscribed on the door. The dal you acquired and used to open the door is the key to completing the array and triggering its effects. Only by entering the passage that opens up would you be able to continue on to the next trial. Now, if you could please show the dal so we can start the second round."
"Er… Ummm…" Kana looked at the man with a puzzling gaze. It was not that she did not wish to show the only man but the stupid dal was now in her head. How was she supposed to take it out?
"Is there a problem?" The old man asked. The dal should have flown back to the one who inserted the dal into the door after the door lted away. While the door was only made out of re dark star tal, the dal itself was made of primordial soul tal. It was sothing that no natural fire could tal easily.
"The dal… It… Ummm… Flew into my head…" Kana lowered her head, wondering if the old man would be angry or not. Even she did not understand why the dal actually flew into her head. She did not feel any different and was still as strong as before so she was at a loss as to what the dal would do to her.
"Then I guess everything is destined by fate. That dal was called the nine star phoenix dal. And is a relic of ancient tis. It is the only key to this temple and is a precious treasure that has a drop of true phoenix blood within it. True phoenix blood has a will of its own, and even for , it took thousands of years to subdue that one drop in order to forge a single dal. Combined with the primordial soul tal, it could be considered close to being a divine item, one of the very few that could ever be found on this small plane. " The old man explained with a proud smile. He truly felt proud of his accomplishnt. But when he looked up, he saw Kana swaying back and forth, almost falling asleep, and really did not know if he should laugh or cry. Coughing dryly, he continued: "At any rate, I do not know if the dal fused with you or not, but I am sure it will eventually beco of use to you down the road."
The old man clapped his hands as he continued: "Now then, let introduce myself. I am Li Dong. I am the creator of this mystic realm and of this Phoenix Star Temple."
