"What!?" Kana frowned. She didn't understand why were all these supposed horrific demonic beasts always pleading for their lives when she says she is going to eat them. Were they not supposed to put up so kind of grand battle and, in the end, go: "It seems I lost this battle! Do with as you please…" Before taking their last breaths?
"I said please don't eat !" The sli begged as it began to take on a new shape. What appeared in Kana's vision was not the sli one would normally know but a sli girl who was around sixteen to eighteen years of age. She was currently prostrating herself in front of Kana with her head pressed against the tree branch.
Kana frowned even more. "Why does it feel like I'm so kind of evil person? Were you not the one who was planning on trying to eat first!?"
"I…" The sli couldn't argue with Kana as it was true that she did plan to eat Kana. "It's true that I did plan to eat you. But I failed… As such… I am willing to beco your contracted beast."
"Contracted beast?" Kana wondered if this was the sa as having a contract with an elental. In a way, slis were kinda like elentals in a way. But only in the shape of a lower level elental, where the body shape resembled a young male or female but with none of the goods.
"Yes! I am willing to form a master-slave contract with you if you are willing to allow to live. I am more than just an ordinary sli. I also have healing properties! I can excrete a kind of sli that is able to heal wounds. It is able to bring any living thing back from the brink of death." The sli quickly explained. It was begging for its life. It did not plan to hold anything back. "I can also restrain other demonic beasts up to a rank three divine beast!"
Kana looked at the sli, who had finally looked up, and was shocked to see that she was actually quite cute, but this madeKanaa realize sothing. Ever since she ca to this world all the people have been… Very good looking! She sighed and scratched her head. She had to admit that having so extra help while she was this deep in the forest was not a bad idea.
"You should do it. If the sli is truly able to restrict even rank three divine beasts, it has to be at least a rank four divine beast itself." The wor-caterpillar on Kana's shoulder replied.
"Hmmm… Wait… If the sli is able to restrain rank three divine beasts, then why is it doing this?" Kana asked, her question causing the sli to suddenly freeze. Kana looked at the sli, who suddenly looked away and felt sothing was seriously off. "Are you lying to !?"
The sli quickly shook its head. "No! I'm not lying! I…" The sli bit its lower lip and pouted as it continued: "I was kicked from my clan. They said I was a good for nothing…" The sli finally admitted.
"Your clan? Slis have clans!?" Kana was shocked. She had no idea slis were that advanced!
Seeing Kana becoming interested, the sli quickly explained. "Slis are ancient spirit beasts. We are born from the spiritual qi in the air that is condensed of many different kinds of elents. When my ancestors first beca divine beasts and took on a human shape, they beca able to reproduce. Although not in the way other animals do. By reproduce, I an, we break off a part of our body, only a small part that is nothing more than a small sli. Those slis are born as divine beasts and, after ranking up a few tis, can take on human form. It's just that my clan says I am trash as I am only a rank four divine beasts even after a few hundred years. But it's not my fault. I never get any resources ever since my mother disappeared. She went out one day to break through to beco a deity beast but never returned…"
Kana could see the sli was getting gloomy and scratched her head. She did not think slis had such a complicated family system. Were they not just so low level trash mob made for newbies to level up on? But here, this sli says she was actually supposed to be pretty strong.
"So you do not wish to go back to your clan and do not wish to be alone. So now that you were caught by this pretty miss, you decided to latch on to her as your new companion even if it ant being her slave?" The little caterpillar asked. It seed to have understood the situation well. For a stupid bug, it was pretty smart.
"I…" The blue gelatin cheeks of the sli began to turn pinkish as it nodded its head. It truly did not wish to be alone anymore.
Kana started to feel bad for this sli, but her stomach quickly woke up from that. She was truly hungry! "I can get you food!" The sli saw that the look inKana'ss eyes was starting to revert to before and panicked. "I can bring you back so food so you can eat your fill!"
Kana's eyes lit up as she said: "If you bring food, we can do the contract thingy. But I want at!"
The sli quickly stood up and nodded. "I will bring you sothing back right away!"
"Alright, I will wait here. By the way, what's your na?" Kana asked.
"It's ako;jdqao;wiejwiopdjqwidjqiopwdiofhpefh." ako;jdqao;wiejwiopdjqwidjqiopwdiofhpefh answered.
Kana's mind went blank for a second before answering: "Ako, it is then…"
The sli nodded and quickly ran off. The caterpillar looked up atKanaa and asked: "What if it never cos back?"
"Then so be it. If I get too hungry I will just eat you… So pray she cos back."
