"This book… Even to , it was a mysterious book. It had many things within it and even allowed to write what I wanted as well. I think it was originally created by a powerful soul who first ca to the realm of the dead. I am not too sure about this since I do not have any evidence. It could have been created by the god of creation, too, in order to guide the one who would beco the Ghost Empress. But I am sure you can understand a lot from it since you read it yourself." The first Ghost Empress replied.
"Mmm… I can see that there was a lot of explanation about past events in it, almost as if telling the history of how the planes of existence were created. It even went into detail on why each one was created. I found it very interesting. But the passage you wrote about the power of words was what caught my interest the most. As I needed sothing to have as a trump card in my soon to be battle with the goddess of life." Angelica was grateful that the first Ghost Empress was willing to give such valuable information.
"Hmm… So the old man has decided upon his successor. I am surprised it had taken him this long. Your mother is also soone I have t many tis in many forms." The first Ghost Empress said with a smile as she walked over and took Angelica's hand. "Co, let's discuss more before I pass on the inheritance of the Ghost empress."
"Mm… I would also like to learn more, but If I may ask. What is your actual na?" Angelica had been curious as to what her na truly was as she had only been referred to as the Ghost Empress.
"My na?" The first Ghost Empress looked at Angelica with wide eyes as she fell into thought. "My na… It has been so long since soone asked what my real na was that I had completely forgotten I even had a real na. If what I rember correctly to be true, then my real na is Yuna…? Yona? I truly can not rember. Let's go with Yu since it sounds cute."
"Then Yu, can you tell what my mother's other life's personalities were like?" Angelica asked. She had been curious if the things she read of the past goddess of death were true or not.
"Hmm… Let's see… If I had to use one word to describe your mother, it would be sadness… Every ti I t her, she always looked so sad as she walked to the river and jumped in without waiting in line. Every ti she was always reincarnated too. I have only gotten to speak to her three tis, and at those tis, she would always only faintly smile at with a forced smile as she greeted . My heart ached for her. Sotis she was only a child. Sotis she was just a young woman. I wondered why she was forced to live so many lives full of sadness. If I knew she didn't have an important role to play, I would have stopped her from reincarnating. There were tis where I wished to do so. But now, I am glad I never did, as I would not have been able to et my successor. " Yu explained.
Angelica sighed. She knew her mother's past lives were also very tragic. Even her current life was no different. She hoped by her becoming the goddess of life and death that she would be able to break free from those chains of suffering. Grow strong enough to beco soone untouchable no matter who stood in her way. And as her mother was the goddess of death, she would be able to read the book of the dead and learn the power of words. For fighting, Angelica planned to take her sister Yana's knowledge and implant it into her mother's mind as well. As for Rain, whatever ability she ended up with, because she was sure the old man sent her soplace as well to grow stronger, she would inject Rain's abilities into her mother's mind too.
Her daughters were all working hard, and the one who would benefit the most out of them all was their mother. Everything Angelica was doing now was for her mother's sake so she would never have to suffer again. Her mama deserved a life full of happiness, her caring mother who loved her daughters so much.
Yu looked at Angelica, who was quiet, and lowered her head as she apologized: "Sorry I couldn't tell you more than this…"
"No, it's fine. You have allowed to know that everything I have read so far was true. Thank you, Yu." Angelica said with a smile.
"Then I guess this is it…" Yu replied as she looked at the palace walls with a bit of lancholy. "I will now instill in you all my knowledge I have gathered for millions of years. Everything I have experienced and everything I know about the soul and the land of the dead. It should be able to assist you as you rule over this place…"
Yu did not wait for Angelica's answer as a light shot out from her head into Angelica's. Angelica suddenly had her mind stuffed with millions of years of mories. Each mory was the experiences that Yu had undergone from her youth all the way until her soul beca too weak to continue being the Ghost Empress. She was using the last fragnt of her soul to keep the realm of the dead in a semi-order state all to welco in the new Ghost Empress.
Yu smiled as she saw Angelica close her eyes and take in all the information. She walked up and hugged Angelica and whispered: "Please save your mother from her ever-ending cycle of pain and suffering. I am off now…" With these words, she disappeared from the room.
Angelica never got to say goodbye as she was consud with the mories flashing through her mind. Day after day passed, and Angelica stood in the sa place. As ti passed, a faint ghostly crown appeared on her head, and a symbol of a wisp appeared on the spot between her brow. As more ti passed, the crown beca more and more visible… Until finally, a month passed, and a loud sound of a bell bood across the realm of the dead's sky.
