The helicopter took two hours to get to the military base that she was supposed to go to. Fan Ji was not in a good mood since he was ignored the whole way. He could not take it out on Kana, so he ended up taking it all out on his assistant after Kana exited the helicopter.
When Kana got off, she was t with an older man that looked to be in his forties. He had a few scars on his cheek, but this did not keep him from smiling at Kana. "You must be the new recruit. I'm Commander Hamrson, and I am in charge of this base."
"It's nice to et you. My na is Kana." Kana introduced herself and gave a small bow.
"Then Kana, I will lead you to get your uniform and then show you to the dorms. Once you are changed, you are to report to the main training field to start training Team F." Commander Hamrson explained.
Kana nodded to show she understood and followed behind the commander. This base was much different from the others. There were loud noises all around, and much busier. No one even looked at her strangely, as if the sight of a person with horns and a tail was a common thing.
As she followed the Commander, he told her where each path went and where the key places she needed to rember were. Kana put them to mory and did not say much. She was not like before. Since she knew this place was all in her mind and what she was, she did not want to get too close to anyone since now it felt as if she was talking to herself. She would, however, talk with Old Fan as she felt for so reason he was created in the image of Old Sir. It was only before she left that she had thought this since it seed strange the old man took a liking to her so quickly and even knew how to forge with her fire breath.
This was not sothing any normal human, at least from Earth, would know. At least she did not know any, and she had not read any books with such a forging style. If it was Old Sir, she did not mind his company and his teachings. She had gained a lot of insights on forging thanks to him. She wanted to beco well known for her forging in the future so she can walk side by side with her husband doing sothing together that they both love. And she had fallen in love with Forging. So did things like alchemy to make potions and what not or magic arrays, but she was different. The feeling of banging a weapon into the shape you want and finally seeing that completed work shining brilliantly in front of her was sothing she loved. It filled her with a sense of accomplishnt.
It was not long before Kana had her uniform plus a few sets to go with it. Amazingly enough, they even had a hole for her tail as well, not to ntion the size was perfect. She ignored all these little details and went to her dorm room. The four beds were all bunk beds and made of tal. She saw that only one bunk was free and placed her clothes there. It was a top bunk, but she couldn't care less.
When she was done in the dorms, she walked towards the training field that Commander Hamrson gave her directions to earlier. The sounds of a drill sergeant yelling out commands could be heard. When she arrived, she saw a bunch of young n and won sweating together under the hot sun. A few of which had so non human parts as well. When she walked over to the drill sergeant, he paused and looked over at her. "You are private, Kana? The Commander told about you. Go join the group. You only have to do as many laps as the others for now. Tomorrow you will be doing the full routine. So you better be prepared."
"Yes, Sir." Kana gave a firm salute, not wanting to get yelled at by a person created by her mind. She quickly joined the rest as they jogged around a large dirt track.
One of the girls who had rabbit ears and a ball of cotton on her butt ran beside her with a smile on her face. "You're new?"
"Mmm…" Kana replied half heartedly. But this did not seem to make the girl give up as she quickly began chatting away.
"I just arrived two days ago myself. My na is Shela. The people here are pretty nice, unlike the lab I was at. I had to endure so painful tests there, but I ended up killing them all in the end, hahaha! So you don't need to be afraid of anything happening to you here." Shela explained happily.
Kana only shook her head. The girl just talked about massacring a bunch of people like it was nothing but Kana also knew she could not talk with all the blood on her hands. She knew if she was in the rabbit girl's position, she would do the sa. "So, what are you? I an, your race?"
"Dragon." Kana answered with a single word causing Shela to look at her strangely.
It was written all over the rabbit girl's face that she did not believe a word Kana had said. "Alright, if you don't want to say don't worry. We only have five more laps to go, and then we have combat practice."
Kana nodded and continued to run. The rabbit girl next to her continued to chat non stop, talking Kana's ear off. It was almost to the point that she was about to toss the rabbit away. All Shela talked about was killing people. Kana had already dubbed her as a psychotic rabbit.
When they finished the laps, the drill sergeant ca forward and had everyone line up. "Okay, we will break off into pairs after we have a little initiation for our newcor. Private Kana co to the center. You will battle everyone here one on one. No holding back."
Kana sighed as she raised her hand. "Sir, they might die if I don't hold back."
