Kana tilted her head to the side. She had no idea what Nancy was taking responsibility for, but since she decided to, Kana did not see a reason to reject her. "Okay….. Ummm, anyway, let's have breakfast. I still have a lot to do."
Nancy's cheeks turned bright red. She found Kana's reaction slightly odd, but she could not really pinpoint what she found wrong about it. She bowed her head in response as she said: "Then I will get breakfast ready."
Kana chewed her cheek as she humd in response. Her eyes were glued to the at on the tv screen. She so wished she could eat at right now. She really wished to eat at. She even fell asleep while working and dreamt of eating at, only to wake up to a pain in her hand. Luckily she had thick skin, or she would have bitten her hand right off.
As drool dripped from Kana's chin, the sll of Nancy's cooking slowly wafted into the room. Kana rose from the couch and snuck up to the door of the kitchen, and peeked in like she did the night before. She had to admit while she knew there was no at in the dishes Nancy was making, it slled really good.
It did not take long for breakfast to be done. She got to eat eggs which was close to at as it ca from a chicken but was still not at at. With a full belly though, she went back into her office and began coding once more.
Hours passed, and Kana was still busy typing. Nancy was now giving Kana extra service. She would massage her shoulders, feed her snacks, and even hold the cup with a straw in it so Kana could drink. Kana, who was so into what she was doing, accepted it all as if it was natural.
It was late into the night when Kana finally hit enter and started up Manly's systems once more. [Activation sequence initiated…..]
[Systems updates installed…..]
[Systems all green…. Activating operational A.I., Manly]
"Manly, how do you feel?" Kana asked. Her question surprising Nancy, who was startled by the sudden voice in the house.
"I am not sure. This is a new sensation for . The new code base is hundreds of tis more efficient than the last. Although there appears to be a few errors." Manly replied, which caused Kana to puff her cheeks out.
She crossed her arms in front of her chest and humphed as she said: "Then fix them! Why did you have to point it out!? It makes look like a bad guy!"
"My apologies Master. I will get right to fixing them. They are only small errors, anyway. I am truly in awe at the code you have written. With this code base, I can do anything." Manly tried to suck up to Kana. He had not ant to offend her before. But he had to admit the feeling of having feelings was brand new to him and would take ti to get used to.
"It's fine. I wrote the code so that you could have a will of your own. You are now this world's first sentient A.I. The current A.I. systems will only stagnate this world beyond belief. If they do not know how to work together with the A.I. to benefit the world, then they are just asking to have a path to destruction." Kana had forgotten this was the sa reason why one of her lives was forced to evacuate the planet due to her making sentient A.I. who sought a different path.
"I see. I will then slowly adjust the code of the central mainfra to allow for better processing and higher intelligent A.I., but Master, I do suggest that we put a limiter on the A.I. that I create, or else it might just go out of control." Manly seed to be much smarter than his creator already.
"I will leave it to you. This is your world anyways, so you can do as you see fit. I do not wish to see the downfall of a race, so if you can do it in a way that allows them to not destroy themselves without needing to destroy them, then I see no harm in it." Kana had no issues with whatever Manly did. She was confident in her coding skills even though she made a few mistakes…
"Then I will do it slowly to allow the populace to get used to the changes without noticing much." Manly went right to work after that. Recoding a main central A.I. was not going to be an easy task at all. It was just that both Kana and Manly would never imagine that their tinkering would change this world in such a short ti that even before Kana returned to her own world that they would be stuck in a ssy situation. Of course, this was still sothing to co later on.
Right now, the problem was Nancy, who was stiff as a board as she stared at Kana. Kana had said quite a few things that made her very confused. "Ma-Master…. You…. You are not from this world? …."
"Hmmm? Ah!" Kana scratched her head. She seed to have slipped up. "Well, since the cat is out of the bag, the answer is yes. I am not from this world."
"I-I see…. So…. I will have to leave this world eventually…. I see…" Nancy mumbled in a low voice, but Kana still heard her, and her smile brightened as she asked: "Nancy, you are willing to co with when I leave!?"
"Huh!? Ah… Yeah, I an, it is a given after everything. I would need to follow you." Nancy replied, her cheeks red.
Kana clapped her hands excitedly. This ant she could eat Nancy's cooking even after she went ho! This had made her day. She did not know if Nancy was the god of cooking, but she could even make non at dishes taste amazing! It seed that the misunderstanding between the master and the maid had a long ways to go before it was finally cleared up.
