Chapter 2: An Enormous Appetite

Ji Jianyun was startled by Su Danhong’s sudden scream and she was shocked. He said, “Wife, you’re here? Why didn’t you answer after I called you?”

Su Danhong looked at the man against the light. At this mont she ca back to her senses, and her cheeks beca bright red. Growing up, she never had any contact with other n except to talk to her brother and father.

However, the tall and soldierly man in front of her was her husband in this life. They had already completed the marriage ceremony, and she also had that mory. The man she had not seen before had returned. When she saw this man, her heart was like a deer running around. She felt that her cheeks were burning.

“I…I was washing up, so I didn’t hear you.” Su Danhong did not dare look at her tall husband. She avoided the eyes looking at her and she stuttered a little.

Ji Jianyun looked at his wife suspiciously. Why did he feel like there was sothing wrong with his wife? She just called him a lecherous loafer, and right now said she bathed. Was this so new terms she learned from a play?

But that’s fine as long as she didn’t beco a demon. He was out all year and would only return ho for a few days in a year anyways.

“Are you done washing up? I want to sleep a bit.” Ji Jianyun said.

It was only then that Su Danhong noticed that he had dark circles, and it looked like he didn’t sleep well. She couldn’t help but say, “I'm done. Have you eaten yet? Should I go make you sothing?”

“I just ate so rice noodles in the kitchen.” Ji Jianyun didn’t expect his wife to say this, so he followed along.

“That rice noodle is not enough. You wait. I’ll go make so more.” Su Danhong said. She wrapped up her wet hair and carried the dirty water out.

Don't ntion how ashad she felt. After washing her hair, the bucket of water was similar to ink. Just now she saw her husband look at the water several tis!

She quickly threw out the dirty water. Miss Su imdiately went over to the kitchen to make a bowl of noodles. She added three eggs this ti. By the ti she returned to the room, Ji Jianyun had fallen asleep on the bed.

Miss Su was stunned. She looked at the bowl of rice noodles in her hands. Her stomach rumbled with hunger, so she sat down and enjoyed the al.

As for her husband, she’ll wait until he’s awake to make it again. In her mory, rice noodles were rare. They were shipped and sold from the south. They could only be bought in the town. She was wealthy, and she was especially willing to spend it on food. Last ti she ca back with a lot of rice noodles, even though there was still so left in the kitchen.

After such a large bowl of noodles went down, Miss Su slowly exhaled. With a slight trace of panic in her eyes, she…she actually felt like she was still a little hungry?

In her previous life, if she could eat half a bowl of noodles, then her wet nurse would burn incense and worship Buddha!

When she thought of the at on her body that she couldn't bear to look at as she cleaned her body, Miss Su declared that she was determined not to eat any more even if she had a good appetite!

Although this al was over, she would only eat half a bowl for the next al. At most half a bowl!

With a full stomach, Su Danhong looked around the ssy room and at her husband sleeping on the bed. She felt it necessary to clean it up as soon as possible!

Ji Jianyun woke up in the evening. He didn’t expect to sleep so comfortably and his wife didn’t wake him up.

“Wife.”

When he woke up, his stomach had already digested everything. Ji Jianyun called out subconsciously when he rembered that his wife would make him sothing to eat before sleeping.

“Coming.”

After Su Danhong cleaned up the ssy courtyard, she heard her husband calling for his wife. She was frozen for a mont before realizing she was being called and hurried to respond.

“I’m hungry.” Ji Jianyun was dumbfounded and blurted this out when he saw his wife rush over so quickly.

“You will be hungry after sleeping for so long. Wait a mont and I will go make so noodles.”

Su Danhong was still not used to talking to her husband. Her cheeks were red and she did not dare look at him. However, it was better compared to the first ti. At least she didn’t stutter. With that, she went to the kitchen.

Ji Jianyun looked at her fat back with obvious doubt in his eyes. When did his wife treat him so well?

This wife had always been dissatisfied with his career because he could only return for a couple of days in a year. Besides his wife, even the other village girls disliked it. This work was hard and tiring, and they would co in the wind and go in the rain1. Although it was true that there was a monthly allowance, they would still make the sa remark. How many days can you co back in a year?

If there was an ergency, you would have to leave again once you get ho. After waiting for you all year at ho, you had to leave before your butt could warm the seat.

If you married a man like him, you had to endure living alone.

It’s not easy for young girls.

During the ti he got married to his wife, his unit had granted him permission to return ho. But then he received an important mission and he left the next day after the wedding night.

It was a year before he ca back.

There was always a commotion when he ca back. Just the year before last, his wife quarrelled with his mother when he had returned.

And the reason for this was his wife’s dissatisfaction with his mother's favoritism for Hou Wazi from his eldest brother's family…

Ji Jianyun shook his head. He looked around the room, only to discover that the room was clean and neat. And the floor didn’t even have a speck of dirt?

“Are you hungry? Eat while it’s hot. This at is fresh and was kept chilled using well water.” Su Danhong approached him with a large bowl of noodles. It was twice the size of what she ate. The quantity was absolutely sufficient. There were seven or eight pieces of at and four eggs on it.

Ji Jianyun saw such a big bowl of noodles and didn’t think of anything else. He got up and sat down to imdiately start eating. Half way through the al, he rembered and said to his wife, who was bending over to make the bed, "Wife, did you eat?"

“I just ate in the kitchen. Don’t worry about ,” Su Danhong said without looking back. While making the bed, she had slled her husband's unique manly scent. Her face beca a little hot, and her heart was beating too fast.

She could still speak so steadily thanks to the calmness she was taught in her previous life.

Even if her nervousness was almost suffocating, she would remain indifferent on the surface!

After hearing her say she ate, Ji Jianyun nodded and continued to devour the food. The large bowl of rice noodles was soon finished by him.

Su Danhong breathed a sigh of relief after changing the old sheets with new ones. She really couldn't sleep on the old sheets.

As soon as she turned around, she saw her husband looking at her.

“What…what is it?” Sun Dan Hong cheeks turned red quickly. She didn't dare to look at him and lowered her head.

“It's ti to go to my parents,” Ji Jianyun stated.

“Then you go. I’m not going. Do you still want dinner later?” Su Danhong recalled Mother Ji’s impression of her. She stopped thinking about it and turned around.

It seed like such a masculine man had an enormous appetite?

Ji Jianyun nodded. "You can just make what you want for dinner.”
