Chapter 40: Doctor

Claire’s back was stiff for a mont, but she finally turned her head slowly. The man’s tall and straight body stood beside the car. He was against the light, his face was hidden in the dimness, making it difficult to see his emotions clearly.

She was stunned for a mont, and finally replied with a smile: "Okay."

Alex pursed his lips tightly, and his stern face still showed no emotion. After nodding, he returned to the study on the second floor.

She looked at the door of the study and stood there for a long ti with a complicated heart. "I always feel that there seems to be sothing missing between

and him".

It took a long ti before he moved into the bedroom. After taking a bath, Claire fell on the bed, physically and ntally exhausted, but tossed and turned, not feeling sleepy.

In the past few days, although Alex talked less, but at least he treated her better.

Based on what I knew about him in the past, this would never be without purpose. Thinking of what he said just now, Claire’s heart inevitably throbbed. But there is always a feeling that this is a gentle trap, as if it is leading her to a fall step by step.

Thinking of this, her heart tightened, as she shook her head vigorously. In any case, she can no longer be led by the nose by him. From the very beginning, she had her only intention of marrying was that she needed his influence to investigate her mother’s death.

Thinking of this, Claire started to think if she made a mistake. Not wanting to think too much, she took out her mobile phone and posted a ssage about hiring a doctor on the recruitnt website.

The next day, at the Western dical Center, Claire spent the whole morning in the office seeing patients, and her busy work suppressed the chaos of last night for the ti being. She didn’t relax a little until it was approaching the lunch break. Looking at the ti, there are still two hours before the ti Louis agreed on.

She lay on the desk, planning to take a nap.

She was too tired recently, and fell asleep not long after lying down. Not long after, there was a knock on the door. Claire opened her eyes in a daze, and replied vaguely, "Please co in." She rubbed her eyes and looked at the ti.

It was already the appointnt ti for consultation. She was startled, she didn’t expect to have slept for so long. At this ti, the door of the office was opened, and Louis walked in first. When she saw with Secretary Louis sleepy eyes, she was also taken aback.

Louis quickly reacted, and said with a light smile: "It seems that Director Smith has recovered enough energy and is ready for the next consultation. "Then, he turned to look behind him and said, "This is the patient I made an appointnt for you."

Claire looked behind him, and saw an old man with gray hair and rough face sitting in a wheelchair, who was pushed into the office by the bodyguards in black behind him.

The old man was thin and thin, but his hands and feet were unusually big, and he looked at Claire sharply with his eyes.

Seeing the old man’s face, she blinked in astonishnt. If she hadn’t read Louis profile in advance and confird his identity, she would not have recognized him.

After all, his current face is rougher than when he first t. Seeing her looking like she just woke up, Neville Powell couldn’t help but see a trace of disappointnt in his eyes.

"Secretary Louis, this is the doctor you strongly recomnd. Are you kidding ?"

The old man looked displeased, glanced at Louis lightly, and said in a hoarse voice. With an embarrassed smile on the corner of Claire’s mouth, she quickly got up and greeted her, saying Sorry there are a lot of patients recently.

In order to concentrate on diagnosing you, I just slept for a while. I hope you don’t take offense."

Hearing Claire’s words, Mr. Powell stared suspiciously at her face for a while, and said:

"What do you an, did you diagnose

before?"

"Although I can’t rember who you are, it seems that we don’t need to waste any more ti."

"Secretary Louis, I’m able to co today, and I’ve given Miller Group enough face. "After finishing speaking, Mr. Powell signaled the bodyguards behind him to leave, and gave Class a sarcastic smile, and said, "A yellow-haired girl with a swollen face pretending to be a fat curator.

If Miller Group invests in such a dical center, your president may out of his mind." Alright." Hearing this, Louis’s face froze, and he thought sothing was wrong in his heart. But Claire was not annoyed, and smiled lightly: "Mr. Powell, don’t get

wrong, I haven’t diagnosed you."

"It was my grandmother who diagnosed you, If I rember correctly, you were not in a wheelchair back then." Hearing this, a look of shock appeared on Neville’s face, and he quickly raised his hand to signal the bodyguard to stop.

Then he turned his head and looked at Claire with squinted eyes, with scrutiny in his eyes, and said

"Who is your grandmother?" With a confident smile on the corner of Claire’s mouth, she turned around and sat back gracefully at the desk, saying

"Mr. Powell, do you rember the Countryside doctor in the fishing village?"

"At that ti, my grandmother once said, you are sick, or your brain is sick, for this reason, you smashed her dical center angrily." Hearing this, Neville’s eyes widened suddenly, and he said excitedly

"It’s her?!

"Quick, tell , where is your grandmother now ?" He asked eagerly, and deep regret rose in his heart. When he was in the fishing village, his symptoms were not obvious. He just noticed that his hands and feet had beco enlarged, and he didn’t pay attention.

"Mr. Powell, don’t be impatient. I can cure your disease."Neville glanced at her suspiciously, his eyes flickered hesitantly, his lips trembled, and said You said, you can also cure it?"

Could it be that your grandmother already taught you the thod of treatnt?" this is the case, for Neville, I really don’t know whether it is luck or misfortune.
