“...” Qiao Dongliang could not understand what Qiao Nan ant. “Does your sister like Chen Jun or his family background?”
“Chen Jun is good-looking and he is a student from a famous university. My sister likes his looks while his family background is the reason why she would continue with this relationship and to be a couple with him.” It was because of the Chen family background that Qiao Zijin was able to accept Chen Jun and be with him.

Qiao Nan stood up. “Dad, it’s late. I will wash up and go to sleep. Don’t think too much. Sister has grown up. But unless she has sorted out her thoughts, she will not listen to what you say even if you co up with a hundred and eight reasons why she and Chen Jun are not suitable. After she said that, Qiao Nan left, not willing to persuade her father further.
Qiao Zijin was her father’s biological daughter. He could never bring himself to ignore her. However, she had given up on her and was thus able to make objective comnts of her closest relative.
She was once killed by her two closest relatives. Now that she had another chance to live, she would never allow herself to be ruined by the two of them.
Qiao Nan bathed to her heart’s content, not caring about the amount of water that she used. She went back to her room after the shower, hugged her blanket that slled nice, and slept soundly.
Qiao Dongliang sat alone in the living room for more than an hour, deep in his thoughts.
Even though Qiao Nan had made things very clear, Qiao Dongliang sighed and made a call to Qiao Zijin’s dormitory as soon as he woke up the next day. “Hello, I am Qiao Zijin’s father. Yes. Thank you, classmate.”
After a while, Qiao Zijin ca to answer the phone. “Dad, what’s the matter? Oh, yeah, Nan Nan is not at ho. You don’t have to worry about anything. Dad, is anything the matter?”
This was not the first ti that Qiao Dongliang called Qiao Zijin. Even though he had not been calling her frequently, Qiao Zijin was not surprised that Qiao Dongliang would call her.

She always thought that Zhai Sheng was rely toying with Qiao Nan and was not serious about her.

Since Qiao Zijin was left with no other choice and there was no better man than Chen Jun, she agreed to be his girlfriend.
“This is not about whether I look down on him or not!” Qiao Dongliang could not help but raise his voice. Back when he told Nan Nan that Zhai Sheng was unsuitable for her, she might be upset, but she would not talk to him using such an attitude. “You should know about the Zhai family. The situation is different and one has to deal with it differently. It has nothing to do with their social status. Besides, let ask you. Do you know that Chen Jun used to pursue Nan Nan in the past?”
“...” Qiao Zijin was shocked. She did not expect that Qiao Dongliang would ask such a question.

Chen Jun told her that his father almost beca the police commissioner of Ping Cheng police headquarters.

Qiao Zijin was glad that she had a boyfriend like Chen Jun. However, Qiao Nan was engaged to Zhai Sheng that she knew was beyond her reach. On top of that, if Qiao Nan was not engaged to Zhai Sheng, Chen Jun might not be willing to be her boyfriend.
She was older and prettier than Qiao Nan. She was also smarter than her. However, Qiao Nan was doing better than her in all aspects. She could not take it lying down.
Qiao Zijin could not understand why things turned out to be this way.
Qiao Zijin felt much better after venting her pent-up frustration at Qiao Dongliang. She was about to tell Qiao Dongliang to think of ways for her to be closer to Qiao Nan, and for the Zhai family to be on good terms with the Chen family when she heard the dial tone from the other side of the phone. “How dare you hang up on !”

Qiao Dongliang forbade Ding Jiayi from staying or even entering the house that the elderly couple gave to Qiao Nan.
Ding Jiayi could do nothing about it as they were already divorced.
