Chapter 998: Chapter 971: Qian, You Debuted Early in Society (Thanks to kateliu for the Silver Reward 79 Chapters) Chapter 998: Chapter 971: Qian, You Debuted Early in Society (Thanks to kateliu for the Silver Reward 79 Chapters) Just as Camden was about to step out, he looked at Kiara and conveyed a ssage with his eyes, “Go ahead and do what you have to do; I won’t interfere or show partiality to my subordinates.”
To repay his trust, Kiara always maintained a deanor that was neither servile nor overbearing. She cooperated fully with her team when discussing professional matters in the morning, yet she didn’t show off her sharpness on purpose. When faced with the occasional questions thrown by Patrick, she gave her own opinions and insights.
In just one morning, two out of the four people in the group were already won over by her performance, with another remaining neutral, leaving only Patrick to retain the annoyance from his first impression of Kiara and maintain an attitude of dislike.
But since Kiara didn’t pick a fight, he also couldn’t find an excuse to cause trouble. Just as Mario Yuno had said, Patrick wasn’t against Kiara the person, but rather dissatisfied with the fact that soone from the outside was parachuted into their midst.
Because they were busy researching the past of the Suspect, the other team mbers didn’t go to the Canteen and prepared to send soone out to get food. Before they could send soone, there was a knock on the door, and soone brought in the food they had ordered.
“So people really are different. It’s the first ti I’ve experienced such privileged treatnt since I joined the force,” Patrick comnted with sarcasm.
It was obvious that the food had been delivered by soone One had sent.
Kiara was distributing food to everyone. Hearing this, she retracted the hand that was about to pass the lunch box to Patrick, opened the box ant for Patrick in a very natural manner, and then elegantly spat into it twice.
Everyone was dumbfounded.
“If you’ve got the guts, then don’t eat the fancy food of the privileged class!”
Kiara’s movents were extrely graceful. If everyone hadn’t witnessed it with their own eyes, it would have been hard to believe that such an elegant gesture could be used to carry out such an inelegant act. Her spitting was smooth to the extre, without a hint of vulgarity.
Patrick was stunned.
The room was quiet for several seconds before laughter erupted.
The two cheerful team mbers who had accepted Kiara first laughed heartily, even the neutral one laughed as well.
“You, you, you’re vulgar!” Patrick pointed at Kiara, at a loss for words.
“You, you, you’re pretentious!” Kiara retorted, mimicking his tone.
If Patrick had lived in the past, his character and temper would have been the typical representation of an Intellectual, pedantic and pretentiously poor.
One of the cheerful ones quickly took the untouched lunch box on Kiara’s desk and placed it in front of the team leader.
“Boss, our task is still very heavy; don’t let personal emotions delay our work process.”
In a fit of anger, Patrick left, “I’m going to the restroom!”
“Going to the restroom to fill up before coming back?” Kiara added with a sharp remark.
Patrick’s face, already flushed with anger, reddened even more. He pointed furiously at Kiara, causing the cheerful duo to burst into laughter again.
Emma thought to herself, watching the boss and Dr. Clark argue was truly a delight for both mind and spirit.
“Your complexion tells that your adrenaline levels have spiked dramatically at this mont. Young man, aren’t you afraid of having a stroke with such a temper?” Kiara was the epito of staying calm while others got angry, leaving Patrick infuriated beyond asure, while she remained graceful and composed.
Patrick stord out and one of the cheerful duo tried to persuade him.
“Dr. Clark, our boss isn’t a bad person, it’s just his temper.”
“Yes, he speaks too harshly, and he offended quite a few people in the old army unit. It wasn’t easy for him to co here, and this opportunity is pretty rare. If there are things he said that weren’t right, please bear with him a little.”
“Do I look like soone who holds grudges, or do you think my husband seems petty?”
Kiara joked. She spoke frankly, and so did these two. Her husband was only here to help out of friendship. He himself had a significant family business to attend to and did not have the ti to dwell on these matters.
“We really are afraid that you will whisper in One’s ear. With our boss’s temper, he won’t be welcod anywhere else either. But, I think Dr. Clark is magnanimous and not the kind of person who would do such a thing.”
“Exactly, that’s right!”
The duo sang in harmony, and Kiara just smiled without saying anything.
It seed like they were joking with her, but in their hearts, they were still concerned about Patrick with his foul temper. Their Tai Chi-like approach was soft and gentle yet purposeful.
In the course of the morning’s interactions, Kiara had seen that although Patrick was sowhat old-fashioned, his abilities were quite good. He was simply a man who spent years in school all the way up to his doctorate and lacked the common sense of interpersonal relationships. He was not tactful and tended to be direct.
A normal person, knowing that Kiara was Mario Yuno’s daughter-in-law, would not express dissatisfaction so directly, even if they felt it.
Patrick was what one might call soone who studied to the point of foolishness.
Kiara, however, didn’t dislike such people. Intellectuals devoted to scholarly research should have this kind of spirit. It was a good thing for Mario Yuno to have such a subordinate.
If those involved in technology didn’t focus on their profession and instead spent their days figuring out interpersonal relations, how to fawn over their superiors, and how to sche against each other, that would be the real tragedy.
“Aren’t you afraid that our team leader will be at odds with you in the future, hindering the progress of the project?” asked the one who had remained neutral.
He had neither welcod Kiara nor shown aversion; he had always viewed her from the perspective of an outsider.
Kiara glanced at him, rembering that his codena was Oliver Moss ‘Magic Flute’, likely the second technical expert in the group after Patrick. He didn’t talk much, but Kiara could sense his importance to the team. Sotis, when Patrick proposed an idea, he would look for Magic Flute’s opinion first, feeling that he was the real soul of the group.
“No, Patrick’s personality is that of a Type 6 ‘Suspicious’ in the Enneagram. In his worldview, there’s a tendency to imagine everyone as potentially harmful ahead of ti. It’s completely normal for him to be guarded against a paratrooper like . As I continuously show him my bottom line and capabilities, he will gradually change his opinion of . As long as I demonstrate my strength, he will start to respect .”
And then, due to his guilt, he would listen to her. Hahaha.
With that one statent, Kiara made the other three people in the room stop their lighthearted expressions. No one had expected Dr. Clark to analyze Patrick’s personality so subtly and accurately.
“You could tell Patrick’s personality just from one morning’s interaction?” Magic Flute asked with interest.
“A morning can reveal a lot. From his ticulous approach to work, I can sense his sense of responsibility. Although his views may be conservative, he is absolutely loyal. He’s good at positive conjecture, exaggerating the negative impact my arrival could cause. However, he’s not a stubborn leader. During etings, he often pays attention to everyone’s opinions. Taken together, I believe he deserves his position.”
After finishing, Kiara saw the expressions on everyone’s faces and ntally raised a victory sign.
You kids, while Mrs. Kiara was out there schmoozing in Society, you all probably didn’t even know where to begin with your theories.
