Chapter 924: Chapter 898: Why does it sound strange? Chapter 924: Chapter 898: Why does it sound strange? In the spirit of “Better my friend die than ,” a principle jokingly adopted among the closest of allies, both Kiara and Camden felt there was nothing wrong with letting Mr. Second Brother of Yuno Family take the fall. Kiara even patted her stomach lightly.
“Our daughter is blessed.”
“Exactly, she must be blessed!” Camden had no idea what their grandfather was thinking when he ca up with the na.
Kiara, already excited, went to rummage through her jewelry box, “I rember there’s a Nothing-to-do Card, it’s good to wear jade during pregnancy. I’ll ask Uncle to engrave a few words on the Nothing-to-do Card and gift it to Isaac, ‘A Small Stone in the Jade’!”
What a bold, refreshingly unique na!
“No rush on the engraving, co on, let’s discuss this baby-making for the country thing.”
Mario Yuno quickly embraced Kiara and walked briskly towards the bedroom. As soon as the door closed, the mont to witness the making of a baby had arrived…
On the windowsill, the still-active penguin ssenger kept receiving ssage after ssage.
A Small Stone in the Jade: Mrs. Kiara, are you there?
At this ti, Mrs. Kiara was quite busy, and the tightly shut bedroom door muffled the sounds of the incoming ssages.
anwhile, Isaac at ho was also preparing to shut down his computer.
Abigail Nana was so happy to hear about her pregnancy that she went back to spread the good news. Second Brother would hand over his work the day after tomorrow and take her back to Q City. They planned to spend the few months before school started with the Yuno Family for the pregnancy care.
Startled by the sound of the door opening, Isaac shivered. Seeing that it was too late to shut down the computer, she bent over, intending to yank out the power cord directly.
“It’s not good for the computer to pull the power cord.”
Second Brother’s cool voice carried from the hallway.
Isaac didn’t know what ca over her, foolishly trying to use her body to block the computer still online with its flashing penguin ssenger.
“Are you insulting a pilot’s vision?”
“I, I, I was actually looking up prenatal care online!”
“Beep beep beep!” The sound of the penguin ssenger’s notifications ca clearly from the speakers. Isaac, with her back towards the keyboard, reached over to try and shut it off, but her hand slipped and accidentally hit the enter key; the web page that hadn’t been closed yet blared the TV series’ ending the song, which fit her current mood perfectly.
“I should be under the car, not in it!”
Whimper, she should have been under the computer desk, not in front of it!
Second Brother walked over, sighed seeing Isaac awkwardly careful, watching his expression.
He pulled her a bit further away, then went over and shut down the computer himself. The mont before it turned off, a chat window from A Small Stone in the Jade popped up.
A Small Stone in the Jade: Isaac, are you there?
As Second Brother shut down the computer, he rapidly typed two letters, “Not here.”
Shutdown, flawless!
“Was soone looking for … oh!” Isaac stretched her neck trying to peek, but Second Brother’s glance swept over and she quickly shrank back, her head lowered in a guilty, apologetic manner.
Second Brother sat down beside her and spoke seriously.
“Didn’t I tell you to rest early?”
“Can’t sleep…”
“Didn’t you say you need to be careful with the pregnancy in the first few months?”
“Well, just getting online for a little bit should be fine, right?” Isaac argued cautiously, finding Second Brother of Yuno Family’s icy deanor quite refreshing and cooling.
“It’s not okay. The doctor has said you need to sleep and get up early, and sitting for long periods while online is also bad for your health.”
As soon as Isaac saw he seed to be getting serious about making her contemplate, she couldn’t help but groan internally. Why did she initially think that Second Brother didn’t want a kid? In reality, he probably cared even more than she did, right?
In a mont of quick thinking, Isaac yawned, and seeing that she appeared to be tired, Second Brother didn’t continue to lecture, only issuing a mild warning.
“You’re allowed to play for a bit during the day, but at night, no playing is permitted. From now on, you must go to bed on ti before 9 p.m. If I’m not at ho, I’ll have soone else in the family watch over you.”
“Isn’t that… a bit extre?” Isaac was used to staying up late and waking up early. Changing her routine was still sowhat uncomfortable.
Second Brother said nothing, just silently watched her with that heat-reducing face of his, and Isaac imdiately surrendered without a fight.
“You’re right about everything!”
“Hmm, I’ll sleep with you,” Second Brother was a man of action, always true to his word.
“Aren’t you going to wash up first?”
“I’ll go after you’ve fallen asleep. If you don’t get sleepy, I’ll just stay here with you.”
Ah! Isaac was in Desperation. In order for him to get so rest sooner, she had no choice but to obediently close her eyes and, under his gentle protection, she fell soundly asleep.
Seeing that she was asleep, Second Brother kissed her cheek and then went to his son’s room, to see little Chloe already fast asleep. He tucked his son in before he went to wash up.
As for Tony Stone looking for Isaac… Second Brother felt it could wait until tomorrow.
But the next morning, Second Brother was urgently summoned back to the Workplace Organisation and, busy with work, he forgot all about it. Additionally, Isaac, feeling guilty about being caught staying up late online, didn’t dare to go online and therefore didn’t see the ssage nor turn on her phone.
All through the night, Tony Stone sat on the roof of her villa, holding her notebook, waiting in desolation.
No one is around, huh…
Her two best friends, one with a dimd avatar, the other online but not responding, and neither answering the phone.
Why is it that on nights when I want to talk, there’s no one to keep company?
Her phone rang, and seeing the caller ID, Tony Stone quickly wiped away the Tears from her face, cleared her throat, and composed herself before answering the call.
“Honey, what are you doing up so late? Why haven’t you gone to bed?” The gentle voice of Zenith Kyan was even more magnetic in the emptiness of the night.
Hearing his voice, Tony Stone felt a surge of grievances she wanted to express, but she couldn’t tell him and instead replied with a feigned light-hearted tone.
“What else could I be doing? Reading comics.”
“Why does your voice sound a bit strange?” Zenith Kyan imdiately picked up that sothing was off with Tony Stone’s voice.
His attention to detail and considerate nature seed even more heartbreakingly comforting during this isolating night. Tony Stone almost cried but gritted her teeth and held back.
“I’m fine, maybe I’ve got a stuffy nose from eating ice cream and getting a cold.”
“Then you should rest up earlier and not always eat so much cold food. Honey, there’s sothing I need to tell you… I…” Zenith Kyan’s voice faltered, “I might not be able to make it back this sumr for the banquet, I’ve got an unexpected work trip, and we may need to postpone our wedding… I’m so sorry, honey!”
He had braced himself for this call, prepared to be scolded by his wife, since the whole family had been preparing for so long, with less than a month left, and him saying sothing like this was indeed extrely irresponsible.
“It’s okay, I understand,” Tony Stone said, feeling relieved herself. She really wasn’t in the right state for marriage at the mont.
“I’m sorry…” A thousand words could only culminate in these three pale words. Zenith Kyan too felt he had let her down.
At the mont, Mario Yuno’s Workplace Organisation was in dire need of staff, and he was keen on developing his career there for a few more years. He had no choice but to endure the separation from his beloved wife, feeling that he owed her, yet unable to do anything about it.
