Chapter 1560: Chapter 1532 Mrs. Kiara vs Camden
The leader’s car hadn’t even left Linville before it circled back, and he was extrely surprised that Kiara could take on this case.
The eting lasted nearly 3 hours before it ended, and Edward Wheeler pledged to fully support Kiara and Fox Cat, while Kiara accepted the wager from Yuzo Joel. Edward seized the opportunity to search for clues about the hostages and Yuzo Joel.
Wendy was taken away by Isaac, who also packed up and took Beautiful Lady and her four new babies. Kiara and Edward currently had all their energies focused on this matter, entrusting the arrangent of their ho to Isaac—a ti of crisis when the whole family was united.
Andrew Farmstead was also continuously investigating. He had wanted to join Kiara’s team and help her compete, but Kiara had declined.
Since Yuzo Joel was acting on the principle that even if he were to fall, he must drag a few others down with him, he would undoubtedly employ many underhanded tactics. Kiara’s side could not reveal all their strength at once. Eldest Brother and the farmstead should serve as backup, ready to respond in case the other party resorted to dirty tricks.
They were short a person, so Eldest Brother summoned Third Senior Brother, Spencer Tatum, back. He was currently on his way and was expected to arrive that night.
Kiara and the others were in a eting while Edward Wheeler took charge of hosting it and deploying work. In the midst of the session, the relatives of the hostages arrived. Upon hearing that there had been no progress on the case so far, they unleashed a barrage of roars at Edward.
“How long has it been, and still no news? Are you lot just freeloading?”
Edward patiently explained, “We understand everyone’s feelings, but this matter takes ti. Our people have already started making arrangents—”
The eting had been interrupted halfway through before they could co up with a strategy. Camden was also anxious to appease the mood and continue working, but the people were relentless and aggressive.
“How much longer? You speak without concern because it’s not your family who’s been captured! If your family were taken, would you continue to wear a human skin but act so inhumanely?”
“Enough,” Kiara slamd the table, and it imdiately went quiet.
“You, get out,” Kiara pointed to the businessman who’d been ranting at Edward and said.
“Who are you?”
How could such a little girl be so audacious?
“Until you can cool down and distinguish friends from foes, don’t disturb our work. If you think we’re progressing too slowly, go find soone else yourself.”
“How can you talk to like this; do you know who I am?” the rebuked man said arrogantly.
“I don’t know who you think you are, but I know if you continue to hinder our work, then you’re the one being irresponsible to your captured family mber. If you want to see your family sooner, then leave now.”
“Nonsense, a little girl dares to be so presumptuous; I won’t leave. What are you going to do about it!”
“Get. Out. Now!!!” Kiara said each word deliberately, and before Edward could make a move, two security guards imdiately rushed behind him and physically removed the man from the room.
The Sister-in-law’s word was more effective than the Vice president’s at that ti. Everyone was busy trying to save lives, and it was about ti soone dealt with the troublemakers.
The other two relatives of hostages originally wanted to say sothing as well, but seeing how easily Kiara had cast the troublemaker out, they exchanged glances and quietly asked the leader a few questions. Upon learning Kiara was key to the rescue mission, they imdiately ca over to chat with her.
They were much more cordial than before. The leader spoke plainly—if Kiara couldn’t do it, no one else could. She represented the top authority in the dostic industry; she was the only hope for the rescue mission.
Kiara didn’t have ti to soothe these people’s emotions, and casually summoned soone from Edward’s team to do so ideological work with them. She turned to discuss the next steps with Fox Cat.
At this ti, she was the boss here, allowing for only her voice to be heard. This was also the condition she had made clear to those above. In front of Mrs. Kiara, those trying to act like the big bad Wolf would et only one fate, and Mrs. Kiara was keenly aware of these people’s sentints.
If the hostages could be rescued, these people would kneel and call you father even if they were highly emotional in the past. If not, everything said now was useless, and you’d still be pointed out by thousands. Therefore, any interference must be suppressed with firm authority.
Mrs. Kiara’s assertiveness tad the crowd, and Edward overheard his two subordinates whispering.
“The Sister-in-law is indeed impressive—so amazing. Even n can’t match her calmness and decisiveness in the face of danger.”
After praising Kiara, they turned to Edward, “Vice president; how does the Sister-in-law manage to do it?”
Edward gazed deeply in Kiara’s direction, “If she had a choice, she certainly wouldn’t want this so-called ‘impressiveness’.”
Others watched her decisiveness and montum, but only Edward could feel the sadness beneath her strength.
How many setbacks must she have endured to beco the unflappable force she was today?
How much hardship did she have to overco to possess her current grandeur and composure?
He didn’t wish for Kiara to be a godlike woman in others’ eyes. He only wanted her to have a lifeti of peace, to protect her thoroughly, to let her enjoy so tranquility.
But life had forced her into her current position, achieving her public glory yet also revealing to him the effort she made behind closed doors.
At that mont, as Edward watched Kiara, clearly distraught yet still strategizing, he found himself lost in thought.
He began to reflect on whether the values he had always imparted to Kiara were mistaken.
While there was still no news from the other side, the eting continued.
“My opinion is to wait for the enemy’s challenge, to determine the ti and place of the First match,” Edward said.
The eting room fell silent, agreeing with Edward’s opinion.
Then a voice objected.
“I disagree.”
All eyes imdiately turned to the source; the one speaking out wasn’t soone else—it was Kiara.
Seeing Kiara speak, the room’s atmosphere tensed up in an instant. Edward’s pupils constricted; he was the person in the world who understood Kiara best, and he knew what her opposition ant.
So without waiting for Kiara to explain her reason, Edward slamd the table.
“Emma Clark, mind your attitude. I’m in charge of this case, and you’re just a doctor cooperating with our work. You have the right to remain silent. Go back ho and take care of the Child; don’t stick your nose where it doesn’t belong.”
Everyone was puzzled; they all knew that the Vice president cherished his wife and they discussed everything—so why did he suddenly turn autocratic at such a critical mont?
Kiara, hearing his rebuttal—and even in such a domineering and unreasonable way—not only wasn’t angry but instead felt a surge of warmth in her heart.
He understood her. He knew what she wanted to do.
He wanted to protect her, and his high-handedness showed his protection and tenderness. But this ti, Kiara had a different conviction.
“Let’s take a 10-minute break from the eting. I have sothing to tell Edward,” Kiara said aloud.
“No!”
