Chapter 1431: Chapter 1403: Help General Qian Cool Off
“Would you like so coffee?” Yuzo Joel asked Mario Yuno.
Camden shook his head like a rattle-drum.
“If she knew I ca over here to tempt you with coffee, she might just take a knife to .”
He had no doubt that Kiara was capable of it.
“That girl is way too uptight!” Yuzo Joel had been at his wit’s end lately, he felt like he was going to sprout feathers from all the blandness, with all these dietary restrictions and do’s and don’t’s. One could either die from the disease or from craving.
Mario Yuno looked him up and down, “You know, you’ve actually put on so weight. Seems like all the health stuff my daughter-in-law is fussing over isn’t entirely useless.”
Yuzo Joel force a smile, “It’s not just health-keeping, she even cos over to forcefully administer talk therapy twice a week…”
Mario Yuno offered him boundless sympathy.
He could certainly understand Yuzo Joel’s feelings, Kiara had learned a lot of her expertise from Yuzo Joel, and when she ca over to enlighten him, probably Yuzo Joel could guess the ending right from the start. But for his daughter’s sake, he had to keep a smile on his face even when he really wanted to sleep.
He even needed to do his howork in advance, like trying to figure out how to show he was paying attention when Kiara said a certain thing, and how to respond to sothing else.
Being cared for by his daughter was indeed a nice feeling, but for soone who was used to being carefree, being suddenly cooped up felt quite painful.
“I ca over to discuss this with you. I think my daughter-in-law is going over the edge with this. Yesterday, I heard her ordering a bunch of acupuncture books on the phone.”
Yuzo Joel imagined himself being turned into a hedgehog with needles, a strangely tingling delight indeed.
“This kind of stubbornness isn’t good for her health, and it puts a lot of pressure on you, so I’m asking if there’s a way to shift her focus.”
Mario Yuno understood Kiara’s feelings very well; she was intent on keeping Yuzo Joel around for as long as possible and was willing to try any harmless thod. But so things couldn’t be rushed. If she invested too much and didn’t get the results she hoped for, the disappointnt would be substantial.
Yuzo Joel nodded, “I’ve been considering this myself and I think the answer is fighting fire with fire. We can’t let her have too much free ti. It’s the sa with Yacob, too. I thought these two kids would needle each other for a while, building rapport through friendly rivalry, but who knew they’d be of one mind so quickly!”
Thinking of this, Yuzo Joel felt a pang in his heart.
The Apprentice had fallen too quickly, siding with Kiara in the blink of an eye, leaving him to sneak ice cream behind everyone’s back, lest the Apprentice snitch to his daughter at the sight!
“It sounds like you’ve got a plan?”
“Yes. Rember the issue Kiara had with JR a while back?”
Mario Yuno rembered it well, as it ended up earning his household an extra few thousand dollars from a “big bet.”
“There’s an international competition coming up, and I’m planning to sign Kiara up to represent our farmstead. She’ll have to travel abroad for a while, and as for Wendy, don’t worry—she’ll co along.”
Edward Farmbright ‘Farmbright Farr’ was now on the level of a Judge. He couldn’t compete, but Kiara could, and it would be a good opportunity to send her out for so experience and extinguish her desperate and evil attempts at unproven redies.
“This…” Mario Yuno looked troubled upon hearing this.
Though he was loath to let go, in such a situation, for Kiara’s sake he was prepared to endure the pain of separation for a few days; what worried him was the process.
“My position is unique, and if Kiara and her daughter are going abroad, the paperwork will be difficult.”
But, considering Kiara’s recent state, Mario Yuno decided to take the plunge.
“I’ll figure it out.” For her, even if the chances were slim, he would give it his all.
Yuzo Joel nodded in approval; he wanted to just test the waters with Mario Yuno, and it seed Kiara hadn’t chosen poorly.
“I’ll assist you with this.”
A joint front can give rise to different emotions, just like how Fire Edward and Kiara, who were previously fighting fiercely, suddenly reconciled because of Yuzo Joel’s illness and even empathetically ford a united front against him.
Another example is Camden and Yuzo Joel, where the father-in-law’s growing distaste for his son-in-law transford into a small alliance because of his concern for Kiara. As the saying goes, “what is divided must eventually co together, and what is united must eventually split.”
“We can handle the issue of going overseas, but on Kiara’s side, will she agree?”
Mario Yuno’s concerns were not unfounded.
Kiara now reacts to any ntion of Yuzo Joel’s illness like a cat with its fur on end, as if on high alert, defensive. She would never agree to leave for an extended period unless Yuzo Joel were to go with her.
“You don’t need to worry about that. As long as you agree, I naturally have a plan in place. When the ti cos, I will—”
Yuzo Joel abruptly stopped speaking.
Kiara ca over with a Bucket of dicated diet.
“Camden, when did you get here?”
“Just arrived, ca to check in.”
“Well, it’s always good to co Ho often when there’s nothing else.” Kiara was sowhat satisfied with Camden’s visit, nodding as she placed the dicated diet on the Table.
“I had soone make this for you; you’ll be having this as your main als for the next two servings.”
Yuzo Joel could sll the absolutely unpleasant odor of the herbal dicine even from across the insulated barrel, yet he didn’t dare to express his dislike and quickly nodded.
“Yes, you’re right, drinking this is good for my health. Wendy doesn’t pick at food or act out. I can’t set a bad example for the Child.”
“…I haven’t even said anything yet.” Kiara felt a headache coming on.
“I’ve been hearing these phrases for days; I could recite them by heart…” Yuzo Joel muttered under his breath. Was there any need to say it? It had already beco routine.
Kiara nodded in satisfaction, “It’s good that you have this level of awareness and commitnt. Have you managed to stay in good spirits today?”
“Seeing you always cheers up.”
If he wasn’t being watched while eating all this ss, he might be even happier; there was no helping it, for his daughter was always right.
“Well, I have more to take care of at the Workplace Organisation, I’ll head back first and co over again at night for dinner,” Mario Yuno handed the ho field back to Yuzo Joel but added with a lingering concern.
“Just wait for to co back and cook. If I have to work late, I’ll ask Fire Edward to cook. Don’t both of you step into the kitchen.”
The outcos of these two in the kitchen were nothing short of disastrous, far quicker than rare diseases in snatching away lives, killing without a trace!
After Mario Yuno left, Kiara served up the dicated diet for Yuzo Joel and watched him eat. Yuzo Joel struggled to consu so, glancing at Kiara’s expectant eyes, then cleared his throat.
“Uh, Kiara, I have sothing to talk to you about.”
“Go ahead.”
“Recently, there’s this World-class psychological competition, and I hope you can participate in it. It will be very beneficial for your future career.”
“How many days will it take?”
“Around about a Week.”
“No, I’m not going!” Kiara refused to be away that long; she couldn’t leave Yuzo Joel’s side at this ti.
Mr. Joel had anticipated her reaction, his eyes downcast. Fortunately, he was well-prepared.
