Chapter 1322: Chapter 1294: The Focus Is Here Chapter 1322: Chapter 1294: The Focus Is Here “I feel, ever since you acknowledged your father, that the way you handle things has beco more… cough, cough,” Mr. Yuno teased his daughter-in-law. “It’s not just your patients who think so — even I can see you’ve got your old man’s charlatan flair.”
Instead of getting angry, Kiara laughed.
“People always need to progress and grow, right? Can I really just stand still forever?”
“I thought with your personality, when facing such people, you would’ve flat-out refused them.”
His daughter-in-law used to be very clear-cut about right and wrong, but ever since she recognized Yuzo Joel as her father, she had beco increasingly tactful.
Kiara rested her delicate jade hands under the dryer, feigning seriousness as she sighed.
“We psychologists treat people with distorted ntalities, not pick moral paragons. How could we disdain patients for their lack of virtue? What would that make , a psychologist with a ‘world-embracing’ heart?”
“Speak human!”
“Charge the disagreeable ones more money. After taking their cash, they still have to thank !”
Yeah, yeah, all that could be conveniently ignored, but the last bit — that’s the crux~
“You!” Mario Yuno pinched Kiara’s nose; Wendy in his arms found it amusing and wanted to do the sa. She extended her little paw but ended up with it in Kiara’s mouth.
A second later, realizing what happened, the little one unleashed a sharp cry, pointing at Kiara and yelling.
However, this did not evoke any sympathy from the unscrupulous parents, but instead, they treated it as an object of study, laying her on the bed to watch curiously.
“Darling, don’t you think our baby is exceptionally smart?” Mario Yuno had long noticed that his daughter was different from normal babies.
“Of course, she’s always been like this; it’s not strange at all. Her IQ is even higher than mine; it’s not surprising that she’s developing early.”
“Eh? A baby this small can be tested for IQ?”
Of course, Kiara wouldn’t tell him it was tested in a past life.
In her past life, Wendy’s IQ test results were even higher than Kiara’s. With both parents being high-IQ academic achievers, the child likely inherited their strengths. But in her past life, Kiara’s circumstances were strained, and after giving birth to Wendy, she was too busy striving for success to have the leisure to watch her child grow, as she does now.
It seems that the signs of genius are apparent even from infancy, setting them apart from typical children.
“Whatever her IQ, it’s not important. I just want her to grow up happy, and whatever she does doesn’t matter. I just want to stay by her side and watch her grow every day.” Kiara poked her daughter’s bib, intent on not hiding the baby’s intelligence, yet also not forcing the child to grow up too fast.
“Mhm, I feel the sa way. I’ll watch over her with you,” said Mario Yuno after watching his daughter for a bit, then he broke into a goofy grin.
As he started to giggle foolishly, Wendy copied him, and father and daughter laughed together.
“What are you laughing about?”
“My dear,” Mario Yuno explained, “do you believe that sotis when I look at our daughter, it feels like we’ve known each other for a very long ti, as if from a past life? Before she was born, I imagined many tis what she would be like. The mont she was placed in my hands, I just felt grounded, as if she was always ant to be this way.”
He wanted to give her all the treasures in the world, to always hold her in the palm of his hand. Just looking at her chubby face made him feel incredibly good. Mario Yuno thought the joy of being a father would fade as the child grew, but it didn’t.
Every day he discovered sothing different about her; her cries, her laughter, all tugged at his heart.
This feeling, growing increntally, was like his love for Kiara — never fading, never becoming routine. Sotis he’d wake in the middle of the night, see Kiara’s sleeping face, and feel like he was dreaming.
“Silly,” Kiara laughed at him. “Ninety-nine percent of n beco fathers. How co it’s you who finds such joy in it?” she said mockingly. “Silly Camden.”
“I don’t know, but every day is just so joyful, daughter-in-law, you’ve worked hard.”
Mario Yuno kissed Kiara and then chuckled with a sly laugh.
“Although ninety-nine percent of n will beco fathers, who else has a daughter as adorable as mine? Not to ntion others, does elder Brother have one? Does Second Brother have one? Does Zenith Kyan have one? Does Zeke Sean have one? Does Giorno have one? Does Zoel Cohen with that Black Cucumber have one?”
Every sentence was spoken with imnse smugness and show-off vibes— ha, ha, ha, none of these guys have it, who else!
Wendy is now the family’s greatest treasure; even Mr. Yuno, the old antique, has to video call every day or two just to see his granddaughter, and if he has any free ti, he’s rushing over here.
Don’t think that elder Brother and Second Brother don’t have kids, but pile those boys together, and they still won’t get as much love as Wendy. How could anyone not be envious? With such a charming baby and only one girl in the family, how could she not be spoiled? Mario Yuno felt particularly smug in such monts.
It doesn’t matter that he wasn’t taken seriously in his childhood, even though he’s a twin with a sister and had his chicken legs snatched away. Now his daughter has earned it all back for him— ha, ha, ha!
He felt like a serf who has thrown off his chains, singing triumphantly.
“Those guys you’re talking about, I can write them off, but Zoel Cohen… he doesn’t even have a partner yet, how can you be sure he won’t have an adorable child in the future?”
“Him find a daughter-in-law? Ha, ha, ha!” This was outright mockery.
Kiara thought for a mont and laughed along.
“Yep, he’s a fool tis two—version 2.0.”
“Why 2.0?”
“He got an upgrade, duh! I’ve never seen a man so foolish—except you, of course. But let tell you about this Zoel Cohen—”
“Mmm!” Zoel Cohen stood outside the door, his eyes nearly shooting flas.
“Oh? Mr. Zoel, where did you spring from?” Kiara imdiately put on her most welcoming face, as if the gossiper who was just discussing others with Camden wasn’t her.
“If I had known you two shaless spouses were back here bad-mouthing while I was out buying this, I would have crushed it to pieces!”
Zoel Cohen tossed the bag in his hand to Mario Yuno, who unwrapped the Teething Stick with a smile. Wendy saw it and was delighted, babbling away happily.
Just when Kiara was fleecing the Fat Sheep, Mario Yuno saw that his daughter’s Teething Stick was gone, so he sent Zoel Cohen to buy one. The brand was rare, and Zoel Cohen had to visit several baby stores to find it; anwhile, he ran his legs off Outside, and these two shaless spouses inside were laughing at him!
Zoel Cohen turned to leave, but Mario Yuno approached him, grinning, and dragged him back with an arm around his shoulders, like the best of buddies.
“Don’t leave, Mr. Zoel, co on, share with your buddy here—what did you do to make my daughter-in-law think you’re especially foolish?”
“The stupidest thing I did was getting to know the two of you!” Mr. Zoel spat out in anger and embarrassnt.
“Tsk, tsk, such bashfulness! You won’t talk, huh… hmm, let guess…” Mario Yuno ca on with a gossipy zeal that didn’t lose out to any middle-aged busybody, not only nosy but also asking for a smack.
“Guess your big ghost head! Get lost!” Zoel Cohen shoved Mario Yuno and strode rapidly for the door, deciding to distance himself from these botherso spouses!
“I’ve got it, you must have been rejected by a woman in your pursuit of love, right?”
Bang!
Mr. Zoel smacked right into the door fra.
