Chapter 1212: Chapter 1184: Till We et Again (Part 4) Chapter 1212: Chapter 1184: Till We et Again (Part 4) Kiara’s mother always got animated when it ca to this topic; whenever the children in the family bought houses, she would repeatedly emphasize that they must not buy one with visible house beams.

“Actually, from a psychological perspective, this can be explained too. If there are beams in the bedroom, they can visually cause a sense of oppression. In such an oppressive environnt, feelings of depression and irritability are likely, and when people are irritable, marital spats are a natural consequence. However, this doesn’t prove that all those things you believe are correct. It only ans you have to be selective about what you take as the truth,” she would say.

“I don’t care about that; I’d rather believe it exists! Just rember what I told you, okay? Keep saying to yourself that the child is a girl, and when the ti cos to give birth, Edward will be ho. The first bit was sarcasm; the latter, when bad ons fail, good ones will prevail!”

“Where do you see that I’m going to have a son?” Kiara was puzzled. Ever since Isaac had a son, her mother had been insisting that her womb carried a girl. Was she that desperate for her to have a son?

“How can you be so thoughtless? With so many grandsons from your Abigail Nana, won’t you be looked down upon by your sisters-in-law if you have a daughter?”

Kiara’s mother really didn’t care whether her daughter had a boy or a girl, but seeing other mbers of the Yates family all having sons, she was afraid that her daughter would be mistreated for being different.

“That’s what you don’t know. Since everyone else has sons, if I could have a daughter, the novelty would stimulate different brain regions, causing my father-in-law and Abigail Nana to produce large amounts of dopamine and also increase adrenaline,” Kiara explained.

“What now? What’s adrenaline?” Kiara’s mother only knew about beef and certain fruits; she didn’t understand the terms her daughter used.

“Kiara ans to say ‘what’s rare is cherished,'” Giorno explained.

“That’s not right, though. Other things may be rare and valuable, but who would ever complain about having too many sons? Never mind, just rember what I told you, Kiara. Keep those two things in mind.”

“Who says girls are inferior to boys? I have a patient whose daughter is exceptionally filial. She’s no less than a son,” Kiara insisted, talking about Grace Bradford.

To ensure her father’s final journey was peaceful, Buckley Willing preferred to be arrested rather than leave her father.

“Of course I know daughters are good; my daughter is the best! But who knows if your in-laws think the sa? Just do as I told you and keep chanting it!”

“I will have a daughter, and when I give birth, no one in the whole world will be by my side, except for Mario Yuno, okay?”

Unable to argue with her mother, Kiara half-heartedly appeased her without much sincerity, feeling extrely annoyed inside.

She hated gender preference, and her mother was deliberately vexing her.

Kiara’s mother finally felt satisfied when she heard her daughter say this.

Once they arrived at the Market Mall, Kiara’s mother was overjoyed; signs all over the mall announced a gold discount, 10 dollars off per gram. The Old Lady, who loved a bargain, imdiately dived into the gold section. The purpose of their visit had been to choose gifts for Isaac’s child, but seeing the discounts, Kiara’s mother decided to pick out sothing for Kiara’s baby and Olivia Brown’s child as well.

Kiara had no interest in such things; she preferred jade over gold, finding it less tacky. She already had gifts prepared for the kids; only because her mother felt that a gift without gold wasn’t complete had she reluctantly co along. After a while, her eyes hurt from all the glittering gold, and Kiara wanted to go to the restroom.

The mall’s escalator was packed with people due to an event, and the bathrooms were on the Second Floor. Kiara’s mother stayed at the gold counter, not realizing that just minutes after they had separated, an incident would occur.

The event crowded the escalator, and Kiara, on her way down after using the restroom, was so engrossed with the central display case in the lobby on the first floor, where the mall showcased thed goods each season, that she didn’t pay attention to her surroundings. This month’s the was related to children, featuring several cute toddler outfits.

The toddler models all had round, protruding bellies and looked adorable in their lovely clothes. Thinking about her baby, whom she would et in a few months, Kiara felt a warmness in her heart.

She yearned to give her child all the best things and looked forward to their arrival, wondering whether it would be a girl or a boy.

She was looking at the display cabinet, her attention not on what was in front of her, and by the ti she felt unstable underfoot and heard the people’s screams, it was already too late to turn back!

The escalator, packed with people, had malfunctioned for so reason, causing the crowd to suddenly beco chaotic. From her angle, Kiara couldn’t see what was happening above, she could only hear screams from behind, and upon looking back, she saw people above falling down in a twisted mass. Kiara watched as those in front scread and those at the very front were trampled—it all happened in the span of a second.

Everyone behind Kiara was in a panic, she couldn’t move back, and for so reason the elevator began moving in reverse!

What was ant to be a descent on the escalator suddenly turned upward, causing many to lose their balance and fall unprepared. In an instant, the escalator was a scene of people tumbling and lying in a horrific disarray.

Stampede!!!

That terrifying word imdiately flashed through Kiara’s mind—a stampede, the most deadly event in crowded places!

At this mont, Kiara could do nothing as people behind her were screaming and pushing her, the massive force causing her body to lean further and further forward.

In such a mont, human brains hardly function, it’s all instinct to run towards safety, but a panicked crowd often leads to even greater casualties!

It seed inevitable that Kiara would be pushed down, and if that happened, being trampled by the terrified people wouldn’t bear thinking about.

Kiara could only rely on instinct and the self-rescue thods she rembered for stampede situations; she knelt on the escalator stair, hands tightly gripping the handrail. This action not only protected her stomach but also stabilized her, so when people above rolled down, they wouldn’t take her with them.

But the escalator hadn’t stopped yet, and with people below being toppled by those in front, there was nowhere for Kiara to retreat to—being trampled was inevitable. This all took place in a matter of seconds.

Just at this critical juncture, soone suddenly grabbed her hand. Kiara looked up, her eyes wide.

“You—?!”

The person grabbing her wasn’t it Grace Bradford?! Even though Grace Bradford wore a disguise, and a large hat, Kiara recognized her at a glance!

It was her!

Shouldn’t she be in prison at this mont? How did she escape?!

Between the escalators in the Market Mall was an angled tal platform, often embossed with ergency ssages, and it was on this that Grace Bradford stood, pulling Kiara up!

Her strength was far greater than that of the average woman, and Kiara, not having ti to think, followed the handrail and crawled up, even as one of her shoes was squeezed off.

But, against all odds, Grace Bradford pulled her to safety!

“Quick, sit down!” Grace Bradford urged Kiara to sit, “This slope isn’t stable, get down quickly!”

After saying this and pushing her from behind, Kiara slid down, faintly hearing Grace Bradford say sothing as she did.

“Thank you for burying my father, we’ll et again!”
