Mario Yuno knew that his Kiara was particularly lazy. If he wasn’t at ho, she wouldn’t even bother eating fish because she didn’t want to deal with the bones. Although these braised flavors were delicious, they were too much hassle to eat, so she usually couldn’t be bothered.
“Who knew,” she grumbled, “I was thinking of getting so grilled squid at the Night Market, but the sll just turned off—it wasn’t fresh and made sick. Then I saw this new place that looked good, so I grabbed so on impulse thinking I’d share with you. If I had known you’d eat the snacks I bought for drinking without offering a sip, I wouldn’t have bought them for you; I should have let you drool over them.”
Kiara felt quite aggrieved.
“Wife, you’re not pregnant, are you? You’re eating so much spicy food. Gildan Yount’s daughter-in-law craved spicy food when she was pregnant, and he even asked to bring him so pickled peppers from my mum’s.”
Gildan Yount’s daughter-in-law was quite funny. She slightly favored boys over girls but wouldn’t admit it. Everyone says sour for boys, spicy for girls, but she insisted on eating sour things, always hugging a jar of sour plums, and then, in the middle of the night, she would squat in front of the fridge munching on Pickled Pepper Phoenix Claws. Gildan Yount comforted her several tis that boys and girls are the sa, but she adamantly denied her love of spicy food, so Gildan had no choice but to secretly get so chili from a coworker to keep in the fridge.
“Huh?” Kiara stopped mid-chew on a duck head, unexpectedly thinking of the odd dream she had the night before where a daughter sought help from her father.
“Can’t be, right? It’s not that ti of month yet.” Kiara touched her stomach, genuinely unable to rember what it felt like when she was pregnant with Wendy in her past life. It seed like she had a pretty rough ti with morning sickness.
Back then, she was so stressed out from being separated from Mario and facing enormous pressures and obstacles in her career that she almost lost the baby from the burden of handling everything alone. Eating and sleeping well as she was now didn’t seem to fit the picture of being pregnant.
“It’s not ti yet… No worries, let it be. Anyway, you shouldn’t eat too much of this stuff; it’s not good for your health.”
Mario ntioned it in passing, as they had wanted a child for a long while without success, and he didn’t have high hopes this ti nor did he want to pressure Kiara.
“Maybe I should get checked out this week. You don’t think all this stress could be causing to be too tense to get pregnant?” Kiara said while eating. The spicy food didn’t feel hot at first, but the more she ate, the more addictive it beca, and then it got hotter and hotter.
“What stress could you have? I think you’re doing well not to go around causing stress for others. It might not even be your issue; maybe it’s my daily job stress affecting my health. We can get checked together when we have the ti. And even if we can’t have kids, it’s okay. The two of us leading a beautiful life isn’t bad, right?” Mario always believed children should be the icing on the cake for a family and not a source of emotional pressure. If they beca distressed over not having children, it would not be worth it.
“That’s true. These things can’t be rushed. Emma, it’s so spicy!” Kiara fanned herself with her hand, only now feeling the burn.
The Beautiful Lady on the floor cast a scornful glance at her. Serves her right! That’s what she gets for ssing with her just now—karma!
“Luckily I know yogurt can relieve the spiciness, and there’s still a bottle in our fridge~”
Kiara took a bottle of yogurt from the fridge and was about to drink it when Mario glanced over and instantly beca alert.
“Don’t drink it!”
Kiara was startled by his outburst, nearly spilling the yogurt on her clothes.
“What’s up?”
“It’s expired. Be careful, or you’ll get diarrhea.”
Kiara took a closer look at the yogurt, and indeed, it was expired.
“You really need to be more careful. Drinking expired yogurt could give you diarrhea. Sit tight at ho, I’ll go downstairs and buy so for you.” He pinched her cheek and got up to go downstairs.
Kiara looked at the expired yogurt and grinned at the Beautiful Lady on the floor.
“Beautiful Lady, do you want to try an experint to see if dogs get diarrhea from eating expired food?”
“Woof!” I despise you!
…
“Splash~”
“””
Kiara pressed the flush on the toilet and ca out of the bathroom, clutching her stomach and bending her waist.
It was already the middle of the night, and in just a little while, she’d visited the bathroom several tis.
As she passed by Beautiful Lady’s small nest, she could feel two bulbous eyes from Green Tea gleaming maliciously in the dark.
It was as if saying, “You had it coming, didn’t you? Trying to feed soone expired sour milk, now you’ve got diarrhea yourself!”
“Feeling any better?” Mario Yuno, clad in pajamas, asked from the bedroom doorway.
It had been several hours since the two of them had eaten the duck heads, and originally, he had planned to continue discussing the next steps for newcors after they finished eating. But no sooner had he settled down his daughter-in-law than he heard the rumbling sounds from her stomach.
Then he saw Kiara running back and forth to the bathroom.
“I’m done for, I feel like I’m about to pass out…” Kiara said weakly.
“I’ll make you a cup of warm water, just a mont,” Mario Yuno, unfazed by the late-night trouble, ran to the kitchen and prepared her a cup of warm water, which made Kiara feel even more nauseated after taking a sip.
“Why does this taste both sweet and salty?”
“You’re dehydrated right now and need to rehydrate. Salt and sugar in the right proportions are absorbed more easily. Drink up!”
In fact, this was just an oral rehydration solution, which is best when having diarrhea. Kiara took a couple of sips and felt her stomach churn; she covered her mouth and ran to the bathroom for a violent bout of vomiting.
Everything spicy she had eaten that night ca up, and by the end, her throat tasted solely of the spicy duck heads. Kiara felt she could give up this kind of food for the rest of her life, it was so miserable!
“No choice, we have to go to the Hospital,” Mario Yuno said, seeing the waxen hue of her vomiting face, unable to bear it any longer.
“I don’t want to go, can’t I just take so Fluparoxan and be done with it?” It was so late now. Visiting the Hospital ant registering, getting blood drawn; it was way too inconvenient.
“Be good, get dressed, and let’s have a look. You’re suffering too much from all this vomiting.”
Mario Yuno got up to find her clothes, and Kiara seized the chance to rummage around the head of the bed while he was sorting through the wardrobe.
She rembered there was a dicine box at ho.
Sure enough, she found a bottle of Fluparoxan inside. When having diarrhea, she was used to taking this, as her mum had told her. There was only one pill left in the bottle. Kiara planned to take it quickly while Mario Yuno wasn’t noticing to avoid a visit to the Hospital. Just as she set it on her palm, before she could eat it, she felt a tickle in her hand.
Beautiful Lady, unnoticed, had darted over and nudged the pill right out of Kiara’s hand!
This was not good! Beautiful Lady grimaced, sticking out her tongue with a disgusted expression.
Kiara was disgusted too; how could she eat a pill that the cat had touched!
Mario Yuno chuckled at her conflicted expression, pulled her up, threw away the dicine, and patiently helped her into her clothes.
“Now have you given up? Let’s go to the Hospital and get so proper dicine. Stop self-dicating at ho; what if you take the wrong thing and make it worse?”
With no other choice at this point, Kiara let him dress her, still grumbling.
“This is precious experience sumd up by my mum! For a cold with a runny nose, take Niuhuang Detoxifying Pills with the 0.05 dollar cold dicine. For diarrhea, take Fluparoxan. For headaches and toothaches, take pain relief tablets!”
