Rebirth of the Movie Queen: Mrs. Sinclair, Please Hug Me! Chapter 420: Defeat and Despair
The exquisite and delicious pastries on the table seed to lose their color at this mont, and Quinn Lockwood found them utterly uninteresting.
Quinn Lockwood tried to pretend she didn’t hear the conversation, but the more she tried to avoid it, the clearer it beca, and her expression grew increasingly unpleasant.
"Savannah, Elias isn’t that kind of person, don’t listen to their nonsense." Caron Grant wore a slight worry on his face, gently patting Quinn Lockwood’s shoulder, as if in comfort.
He turned to look in Elias Sinclair’s direction, seeing him indeed standing very close to lody Shepherd, whispering, his brows instantly furrowed.
"Stay here, don’t move, I’ll go check it out." Caron Grant said softly to Quinn Lockwood, then turned around, gazing sharply in Elias Sinclair’s direction.
He intended to find out what Elias Sinclair ant by this.
"Brother, what are you going to do?" Quinn Lockwood hurriedly grabbed Caron Grant, she didn’t want to face Elias Sinclair, nor did she want to pretend to be gracious and greet lody Shepherd.
And just as she turned around to grab Caron Grant in an instant, her heart suddenly cried out, seeing a servant in front of Elias Sinclair with a tray and a wine glass slip, causing the entire tray to tilt forward, all the wine flying out directly towards Elias Sinclair.
"Careful." Quinn Lockwood quickly stepped forward to try and push Elias Sinclair out of the way, but a white shadow suddenly flashed before her eyes.
lody Shepherd blocked in front of Elias Sinclair entirely, and two full glasses of champagne splashed all over her body, followed by the crashing sound of wine glasses breaking.
"Oh dear." lody Shepherd called out softly, stumbling back a step, her high heels tilting, falling right into Elias Sinclair’s arms.
"Sorry Elias, I’ll get up right away." lody Shepherd looked up apologetically at Elias Sinclair. She tried to stand up, but her body was unsteady because of a twisted ankle.
lody Shepherd bit her lip, although a large patch of alcohol had splashed across her chest, it didn’t affect her elegance and beauty.
That kind of graceful and refined deanor seed to emanate from her very bones.
Just as lody Shepherd tried a second ti to stand up, her body suddenly lifted off the ground, startling her into a slight panic.
"Elias?" lody Shepherd was a bit stunned, staring blankly at Elias Sinclair’s face, a fleeting smile in her eyes.
The man glanced down at lody Shepherd, saying nothing.
Elias Sinclair strode forward with his long legs, carrying lody Shepherd to a nearby resting area.
His handso face remained cold and expressionless, and he glanced at Quinn Lockwood for a mont as he lifted his leg, quickly diverting his gaze.
Quinn Lockwood stayed in place, still in her forward-leaning posture, her toes beginning to ache from the constant exertion, just like her heart at this mont.
The employees and shareholders present began whispering to each other.
What is happening? Are Mr. Sinclair and Miss Shepherd rekindling their relationship? Then what about Mrs. Sinclair now...
The crowd’s gaze fell on Quinn Lockwood, filled with unspeakable complexity.
If there really is a change in the relationship between these three people, the entire business world might undergo a dramatic shift.
Quinn Lockwood’s hands overlapped, gripping her fingertips tightly, muttering under her breath, feeling as though she’d fallen into an icy pit.
She turned and left the banquet hall, a bitter curve forming at the corners of her mouth.
Joyce Krar was right, Elias Sinclair’s affection for her was just a fleeting novelty.
Her silhouette was lonely and desolate, as though the entire world instantly lost its luster along with her.
In Quinn Lockwood’s mind, various scenes of being with Elias Sinclair erged, from his initial extre dislike to his later gentle care, seemingly...
Like filling a gap in a missing piece of affection.
Perhaps she was just a substitute for lody Shepherd.
Because Quinn Lockwood had learned dance from a young age, in temperant she was quite similar to lody Shepherd, the internationally renowned ballet dancer.
Now that the original person had returned, this substitute naturally should step aside.
At the thought of this, the woman’s clear eyes instantly dimd, losing their brilliance.
Quinn Lockwood unconsciously walked to the wine cabinet, grabbed a bottle of Bordeaux red wine, and headed directly to the rooftop.
She didn’t want to listen, didn’t want to care, didn’t want to ask about anything.
"Savannah, where are you going?" Caron Grant followed behind Quinn Lockwood, seeing her dazed and somber as she walked out, his heart couldn’t help but worry.
Could this girl be about to do sothing foolish?
The smile in his peach blossom eyes was completely gone, he hurriedly caught up to Quinn Lockwood’s steps, his deanor beca stern and cold.
"Brother, I’m fine, I just want to be alone for a while." Quinn Lockwood slightly turned her head, her smile was so bitter it felt suffocating.
She grabbed a bottle opener from a tray carried by a waiter, directly uncorking the wine, and then took a large gulp.
"You don’t need to worry about ." Quinn Lockwood waved her hand at Caron Grant, then continued to walk forward.
Caron Grant followed Quinn Lockwood for a few steps, his lips pressed tightly together, as if there were still words he wanted to say.
But he stopped his steps, not continuing to follow Quinn Lockwood.
Quinn Lockwood walked towards the rooftop, drinking as she walked.
As she stepped onto the rooftop, a cold breeze blew in, barely bringing back a hint of clarity.
The nightti sky was silent and mysterious, like a vast black curtain, not a single star in sight.
Quinn Lockwood leaned decadently against the railing, her heart seed thoroughly pierced and battered.
She wasn’t soone who drank often, the red wine was rich and llow with a substantial kick, and drinking it so quickly and aggressively like she did, her face was already flushed red, and a few drops of wine rolled down the corner of her lips, wet trails visible on her neckline.
It was unclear how much ti had passed until Quinn Lockwood felt completely chilled, slowly stepping back inside.
She drank too much, now her whole self was muddled, even her steps were hard to control.
"Huh?" Quinn Lockwood slightly lowered her eyes as she reached the door, pulling hard on the room door, but it wouldn’t open.
"Is anyone there? Could you please help open the door?" Quinn Lockwood knocked on the door, tentatively inquiring.
Quinn Lockwood’s voice echoed into the air, slowly fading, receiving no response.
It seed there wasn’t a single person around.
Quinn Lockwood tried pulling the door forcefully a few more tis, but it still wouldn’t budge.
It’s better to make a call and ask soone to co open the door for her. She’s been out here for a while, and doesn’t know what’s happening outside, Elias Sinclair is he...
