lody Shepherd stood across Elias Sinclair’s desk, maintaining her poised and standard smile.

She noticed Elias’s dark expression and the silent way he sat with his eyes lowered, understanding that his mood was not good today.

With her years of understanding Elias, she clearly knew what she should do now to ease his mood.

Actually, it was simple; she just needed to do nothing.

Let him sit quietly on his own for a while.

lody Shepherd moved calmly, gracefully turning around and walking to the sofa in the center of the office, sitting down and gently picking up the financial magazine next to her.

As she lowered her head to flip through the magazine, lody’s smile faltered slightly.

Before her were densely packed words and numbers, none of which she comprehended, her mind replaying the scene of seeing Quinn Lockwood for the first ti.

Upon noticing Elias’s gaze on Quinn, lody knew that she had lost.

That woman possessed an elegant and refined aura similar to hers, yet her background was far more noble.

Unlike herself, who had no family, no background, and had built everything she had bit by bit from nothing.

The financial director of ridian Securities Firm and an internationally renowned ballet dancer—this kind of status doesn’t even compare to Quinn Lockwood’s future position as chairman of Cloudfall Group, does it?

If lody Shepherd exuded a mature beauty, then Quinn Lockwood was intriguingly graceful, without losing a serene charm and a versatile liveliness.

When lody learned about Elias and Quinn’s marriage, she went through Quinn’s records thoroughly.

Her songs, her plays, videos, and photos from various events she participated in, were all scrutinized by lody.

Not to ntion the foolish and crazy things she did in the past.

Since a period after March, this woman’s style had entirely changed.

Unlike the arrogance and domineering attitude before, she seed to grow suddenly mature overnight, truly becoming a young lady with noble blood flowing in her veins.

Her every move, her mannerisms, and her responses to sharp questions from various dia sources were handled with ease.

Even so docunts lody sent to Elias from overseas were reviewed and anded by Quinn Lockwood.

Until she returned to ridia, lody believed Quinn was rely a sleek, slightly impressive character.

But seeing Quinn for the first ti today, lody knew that this woman would be difficult to deal with, and most importantly, the photos Joyce Krar sent her...

For a mont, lody even felt she was sure to lose.

However...

She and Elias had known each other for six or seven years, longer than Joyce Krar, and they truly understood each other. Though they only dated for a few months, that level of familiarity is not sothing Quinn Lockwood can compare to.

lody Shepherd gently flipped a page of the magazine, appearing as if she were truly reading.

She believed that no matter how impressive a character might be, there would certainly be flaws and weaknesses.

Just like Quinn Lockwood, who is already perfect—her only flaw is... she is too kind-hearted.

Otherwise, Joyce Krar, that brainless person, wouldn’t be making a fuss for so long.

lody’s alabaster fingertips turned slightly pale as she unconsciously squeezed them, her bright eyes fixed deeply on a point in the magazine.

anwhile, Quinn Lockwood stord out of The Sinclair Group carrying a lunch box.

lody’s sweet and elegant voice echoed in her ears repeatedly: "You must be very happy for , right?"

Happy, happy, you seem quite happy to .

Elias’s face flashed in her mind for a mont, and Quinn angrily stomped her foot. Passing by a trash bin, she directly threw the lunch box inside.

She glared furiously towards the company entrance, and grew even angrier.

Damn it, Elias didn’t even co out to explain himself to her.

Quinn Lockwood angrily walked to the roadside, hailing a taxi casually.

If he won’t offer an explanation, forget it; she won’t pay him any mind anymore!

Back at the studio, Quinn barely spoke. She stared blankly at the work arrangents for the newly recruited artists, overwheld by the dense words, feeling extrely agitated.

Sharon Shaw sat beside Quinn, tapping on the keyboard, noting that Quinn had only spoken three words to her in the five hours since she returned in the afternoon.

"Not hungry."

"Not thirsty."

"Not tired."

Sharon felt suffocated by the low pressure suspended in the office.

"Give the files to handle. You should go out for so fresh air or pack up and go ho for the day, or maybe wait on the sofa until I’m done, then we can go shopping!"

Quinn had pondered over a docunt all afternoon, and barely turned the first page. Sharon had long wanted to remind her.

Quinn was still in a daze; it took her a few seconds to realize Sharon was speaking to her, just as she was about to respond, the file was snatched from her hands.

"I thought you didn’t like handling files?" Quinn was sowhat surprised that Sharon would take the initiative to help her with company managent affairs, and her dull eyes gained a hint of surprise as she looked at Sharon.

"Fourth sentence." Sharon did not directly answer Quinn’s question but rather looked at the content of the file and made this comnt.

Quinn was puzzled by Sharon’s words, blinked curiously, and asked: "What?"

"I said, that’s the fourth sentence you’ve said to this afternoon."

"Though I don’t know what’s happened, I think you need to relax a bit, so leave the work in your hands to !"

Sharon snapped her fingers, raising her head to look at Quinn. Observing the trace of lancholy and sorrow on her face, she felt a touch of sympathy.

She knew there were so matters that her position did not allow her to inquire about, and since Quinn did not voluntarily tell her, they must be sowhat personal.

Since she couldn’t offer comfort to Quinn, she could only relieve her of so work.

If soone with a troubled mind had to face so many numbers and words, undoubtedly their mood would worsen!

Quinn looked into Sharon’s crescent eyes filled with concern and sincerity, feeling deeply touched.

Indeed, she was in a bad mood and genuinely needed ti to relax.

The reason she hadn’t shared these issues with Sharon was out of fear that her negative emotions might affect this cheerful, innocent girl.

Yet it seems she was affected anyway.

"Then... then I’ll leave it to you. I’ll step out for a while." Quinn looked apologetically at Sharon, hesitating to express her gratitude, but swallowed her remaining words under Sharon’s disapproving gaze.
