Rebirth of the Movie Queen: Mrs. Sinclair, Please Hug Me! Chapter 4: Who’s Clinging to Whom?
The man stood at the door in a white tracksuit, tall and lean, as if just finished with a morning jog. A thin layer of sweat covered his fair face, making him look more impressive than those popular Korean idols.
Quinn Lockwood’s eyes lit up as she recognized him. He was the adopted son Caron Grant, Savannah Lowell’s brother by na, whom her parents brought back from the orphanage.
Quinn always had a good temper with gentle-looking n, and given that he was Savannah’s brother, she naturally wanted to establish a good relationship with him.
In the future, she might just need his support on her path to revenge!
Thinking this, she showed a friendly smile: "Hey bro, you’re at ho."
After she called out, the man didn’t respond; instead, he frowned and looked at her as if she were an alien.
One must know, in his world, Savannah Lowell never wore a bare face, never smiled at him, and never called him bro! So it’s imaginable how bizarre that greeting was to him!
Quinn tried to make a good impression on The Lowells with her amiable deanor, but she didn’t expect the man’s reaction to be so big. Right now, Caron was staring at her as if he were struck dumb.
Three minutes passed, and Quinn’s smile froze on her face.
Awkwardly scratching her nose, Quinn decided to make her escape: "Well, I’ll go upstairs to see Mom and Dad."
"Mom and Dad are on vacation."
Caron’s clear voice lacked any emotion, causing Quinn to pause.
She awkwardly threw out, "Then I’ll go to my room to get sothing," and quickly entered the villa.
As she walked, Quinn felt annoyed. As Savannah’s daughter, not knowing her own parents’ whereabouts was truly outrageous.
Relying on her mory, she went upstairs to Savannah’s room. As soon as she entered, she was almost tripped by the threshold, shocked by the room full of photos.
"Hiss... what is all this, is Savannah Lowell a psychopath?"
Looking at the wall covered with Elias Sinclair’s photos, Quinn swallowed hard.
Although she knew Savannah had paparazzi shoot Elias before, seeing it firsthand was overwhelming...
Quinn scrutinized the photos of Elias Sinclair — there were shots of him driving, leaving the company, eating, and even... taking a shower?!
Although it was just a broad back, it was clearly in a bathroom based on the background! And with Elias’s head-turning posture, it seed he discovered her secret photographing.
This is just too...
Quinn wiped the sweat from her cheek, her forehead throbbing. She quickly headed towards the bedroom.
Surveying the room, Quinn sighed inwardly. Although Savannah had issues with her character and conduct, her taste wasn’t bad.
The whole house was designed in the most popular Western style, with a large walk-in closet full of various brand-nad clothes, bags, and jewelry.
Quinn didn’t understand why a woman with such perfect looks and family background was so obsessed with a man who would never cherish her.
Swiftly changing into an outfit, Quinn planned to go downstairs to deal with Caron. After all, to seek revenge, she first had to integrate into this identity and gain the trust of those around her.
As she was halfway down the stairs, she saw Caron standing at the corner and hurried down a few steps.
"Hey bro, I was just looking for you... huh? Bro, what’s wrong?"
As Quinn approached, she noticed sothing wrong. The man was supporting himself against the wall, his handso face as pale as transparency, with the other hand on his heaving chest, in apparent pain.
She quickly stepped forward to support his collapsing body and then noticed Caron’s lips were purplish.
Suddenly, she rembered that Caron seed to have asthma!
"Soone, help! My brother’s having an asthma attack!"
It was early morning, and no servants were on duty. Quinn called out for a long ti, but no one responded.
Beside her, Caron’s face grew increasingly distressed. Panicked, Quinn reached for her phone, intending to call an ambulance.
At that mont, her phone rang first.
Seeing the caller ID ’Dear Husband,’ she ignored the disgust and pressed the answer button. Before the other side could speak, she urgently said, "Elias, hurry to Lowell Villa, my brother’s having an asthma attack, what should I do!"
There was a pause before a calm, deep voice ca from the other side: "Go to Caron’s room, look in the second drawer for any dicine, I’m on my way."
Quinn helped Caron to the sofa and then quickly went to his room to search. But despite opening every drawer, she found nothing in the second drawer!
Returning to support Caron to the living room, it was fortunate Elias arrived quickly, and Caron’s condition wasn’t too severe by the ti they reached the hospital.
Yet he still stayed for observation.
Seeing Caron finally asleep, Quinn breathed a sigh of relief but didn’t notice the complex look Elias gave her due to this action.
Glancing at Elias’s cold, handso face, Quinn spoke softly, "You stay with my brother, I’ll go to the restroom..."
Without waiting for his response, Quinn slipped out.
With Elias around, the atmosphere was too stifling.
Leaning against the wall, Quinn took out her phone to check the ti, when out of the corner of her eye, she caught sight of a pair of black custom leather shoes, within arm’s reach.
Looking up, she t a pair of deep eyes like an ancient well.
Quinn thought sothing was wrong with Caron again, and her tone beca tense, "Why are you out too, is sothing wrong with my brother again? I’ll call a doctor!"
As she turned to leave, her arm was grasped.
The grip was strong enough for her to frown slightly: "What are you doing?"
Elias’s gaze on her grew deeper. This morning, when Grandfather found out the woman wasn’t in the villa, he forced him to call her, but he didn’t expect her to use such an anxious tone to ask him to save Caron.
The two families were family friends, otherwise, Grandfather wouldn’t force him to marry her, and he understood Savannah’s character the most. She would never concern herself with Caron.
Yet now, looking at her clear eyes, Elias doubted himself for the first ti, but only for a mont. Rembering her past actions, his expression darkened again.
"Still pretending?"
Being gazed at so inexplicably, this statent made Quinn instantly understand his aning.
The puzzled look on her little face faded: "I don’t understand what you’re talking about, could you please let go of ?"
Quinn felt really exhausted, simply unwilling to explain any further. After all, he wouldn’t believe her; she attempted to shake off Elias, heading directly back to the hospital room. At least with Elias’s character, he wouldn’t disturb Caron’s rest.
But just as she raised her hand and before she could take the next step, her shoulder suddenly weighed down, and she was pressed against the cold wall.
This being the premium ward area, there were few people around; otherwise, she’d die of embarrassnt in this posture.
Quinn sighed deeply, her little face sowhat weary: "Are you done yet? You keep saying I have ulterior motives to cling to you, but look around, since yesterday, who’s clinging to whom?"
