She was already unwilling for Elias Sinclair to return ho early because of Quinn Lockwood, but as his assistant and secretary, she did her job diligently.

She was not negligent about work matters in the slightest, reporting the issues at the branch office to Elias Sinclair on ti every day, morning, noon, and night.

Hearing Joyce Krar’s voice and the disdain and annoyance in her tone, Quinn Lockwood’s face involuntarily turned a bit unpleasant.

Moreover, the fact that Joyce Krar liked Elias Sinclair was sothing she could see with her eyes closed, and now, perhaps due to a stomachache, she was also feeling a little uncomfortable inside.

"He’s taking a shower, call back later!" Quinn Lockwood said directly with an annoyed tone, then hung up the phone.

Her stomachache grew increasingly severe, and she really couldn’t endure the waves of pain anymore, nor was she willing to deal with Joyce Krar.

If she really started arguing back and forth with her, it probably wouldn’t end in just a few minutes.

anwhile, Elias Sinclair walked in carrying a dical kit and a warming pad, with a big cup of hot water in his hands.

"Do you have the strength to get up and take your dicine?" Elias Sinclair placed the warming pad on Quinn Lockwood’s stomach, squatted down, and asked in a worried voice.

Quinn Lockwood shifted her body, frowned, and gave Elias Sinclair a sidelong glance, feeling a bit sour inside.

If Joyce Krar wasn’t Elias Sinclair’s assistant, Quinn Lockwood would have been rude to her long ago.

This woman repeatedly plotted against her and mocked her, really taking her for a pushover.

Thinking of Joyce Krar’s mocking look, Quinn Lockwood felt a fury rise in her heart.

She pouted sourly at Elias Sinclair and said, "Your secretary just called. Sothing important ca up."

"Alright, take your dicine now, then drink this cup of water."

"I asked Angus, and this dicine is very effective for stomach spasms." Elias Sinclair, as if not hearing Quinn Lockwood’s words, deftly opened the dicine bottle and brought it to her lips.

Quinn Lockwood tightened her lips, refusing to take the dicine, and leaned her head back to avoid Elias Sinclair’s hand, speaking with a sowhat sarcastic tone, "Joyce Krar called about work, and it’s urgent, you should go return the call!"

Actually, Quinn Lockwood just wanted to see Elias Sinclair’s reaction.

She didn’t know why she wanted to do this, but she felt that if he really went out to return the call, she’d feel very upset inside.

"Co on, open your mouth." He gently coaxed, like comforting a rebellious child.

Quinn Lockwood looked at Elias Sinclair’s hand in front of her mouth, an unusual emotion flashed in her eyes, and she felt a warm sensation in her heart.

Instinctively complying with Elias Sinclair’s command, she opened her mouth, and he imdiately handed her the cup.

"Drink all of it, it’s just the right temperature, not too hot." Elias Sinclair didn’t withdraw his hand, but instead held the cup, helping to share the weight.

As Quinn Lockwood drank, she quietly glanced at Elias Sinclair to find he looked worried, having put aside work to care for her, which made her feel a little sweet.

The warming pad on her stomach provided adequate heat, and after taking the dicine and drinking a big cup of water, her stomach spasms eased considerably.

Elias Sinclair poured another glass of water for Quinn Lockwood and placed it on the coffee table, then sat beside her, letting her lean into his arms.

Quinn Lockwood pouted but did not lean her head over, muttering resentfully, "Can’t even have peace at ho, too many ssy romantic entanglents, and they all talk about work."

Elias Sinclair heard all of what Quinn Lockwood said, initially knitting his eyebrows slightly, then smiling faintly.

"Is Madam jealous?" He unexpectedly pulled her into his embrace, leaning down to et her eyes.

"Who’s jealous, don’t talk nonsense! I just think that Joyce Krar is too..." Quinn Lockwood said, feeling tense at his sudden closeness.

"Don’t deny it, I know." His deep eyes glimred with brightness.

"Sir, Mr. Grant arrived... I’m sorry, sir, I’m sorry, madam."

At this mont, the door was knocked gently, and a servant and Caron Grant stood at the entrance.

The servant was montarily stunned by the scene inside the study, quickly averting her gaze, bowing, and retreating.

Oh my goodness, what had she just seen, how embarrassing!

Quinn Lockwood turned her head, seeing Caron Grant at the doorway with a sowhat serious expression, carrying an indescribable emotion.

She quickly sat up, escaping from Elias Sinclair’s intimate embrace, but in doing so, she accidentally tugged at a wound, causing a dull pain in her arm.

After being interrupted, Elias Sinclair’s face suddenly darkened, but upon seeing it was Caron Grant, he didn’t react further.

"You’re here." He sat up straight, speaking slowly, nonchalantly resting both hands on the sofa back, returning to his usual detached deanor.

Caron Grant nodded slightly, a brief glint of chill in his eyes quickly replaced by his usual gentle and elegant deanor.

"You returned so quickly, Elias," Caron Grant smiled lightly and took a seat opposite Quinn Lockwood and Elias Sinclair, an awkwardly unnatural feeling perating the air.

Quinn Lockwood forced a smile, turning away from Elias Sinclair with a hint of lingering blush on her face.

"Yes, things there were mostly handled, so I ca back early." His gaze lowered slightly, his face expressionless, leaving no hint of his inner thoughts.

He shifted slightly, moving a bit closer to Quinn Lockwood.

Caron Grant noticed Elias Sinclair’s subtle gesture, his eyes flickering uncomfortably for a mont, but his refined face remained calm and collected.

"Everything seed to go smoothly, the new executive officer is quite capable." Caron Grant’s refined peach blossom eyes carried a smile, his tone as warm and gentle as ever.
