After spending a few more days under observation in the hospital and ensuring that his wounds were no longer a problem, Elias Sinclair returned to the company.

"President Sinclair, you’re finally back. I’ve been on edge, couldn’t eat or sleep well, and I didn’t even know which hospital you were in..." Joyce Krar looked at Elias with teary eyes. Her already pure and graceful face appeared even more pitiable at this mont.

"President Sinclair, you should rest for a few more days. As for the work, you can trust to handle it. I won’t let you worry about it."

Elias glanced over the docunts in his hand, his brows barely furrowing as he replied, "No."

Joyce, knowing well his ticulous and hands-on approach to work, beca anxious. "You shouldn’t overwork yourself. I knew Savannah Lowell’s aura was off, as if she were so harbinger of doom who ruins people’s fortunes in ancient tis."

Hearing this, Elias’s expression, already stern, turned even gloomier. He closed the file in his hand, his phoenix-like eyes narrowing slightly with displeasure.

His tone was extrely cold, "I rember you ntioning the company had signed a new contract. Why wasn’t I inford about this billion-dollar project?"

"I... It was originally agreed upon, but the other party suddenly backed out." Joyce’s heart tightened, and a wave of discontent arose from within.

When she found out about President Sinclair’s accident, she was worried sick, asking almost everyone. Yet, no one knew which hospital he was in. She was so anxious she almost ran around every hospital in Veridia City.

But as for President Sinclair, he treated her coldly because of that troublemaker. Doesn’t he really know?

All her sincere concerns...

"If it happens again, you know the consequences." Elias looked at her coldly, then turned and left.

Leaving Joyce standing there, pale-faced.

Because Elias had left the hospital before his wounds had fully healed, and since the doctor advised him to have enough nutritional intake to recover his health, he asked Quinn Lockwood to bring him a nutritious al to the company every day.

Quinn Lockwood was busy with nurous announcents and show appearances, barely having a free mont.

Using her rare lunch break to prepare lunch for Elias, she hurried over to The Sinclair Group.

"Miss Lowell, you’re here so early today." The receptionist looked at the clock, speaking in a sarcastic tone.

"Why does she even co here? Such a seductress, only knows how to entice our President Sinclair."

"Yeah, who knows if she bought those als from outside and claims she made them herself."

The employees looked at Quinn and continued gossiping. In their eyes, Savannah had always been that worthless woman who relied on her looks to climb up.

With her schedule already packed, hearing the malicious gossip every ti she ca to the company made Quinn Lockwood increasingly upset.

Perhaps because she never fought back, they grew bolder, sotis even making snide remarks right in front of her.

Quinn walked into Elias’s office, seeing him lounging on the sofa, sipping coffee while reading a docunt, which only added to her frustration.

She placed the al box on the table with a bit of force, her eyebrows arching like willow leaves.

"It seems like you’re nearly recovered, so I won’t be bringing your als anymore. I’m really busy every day and don’t have ti for this."

Elias looked up slightly, his long eyes shimring with an unreadable glint. He slowly walked toward Quinn, "What did you say?"

Pressed by him, Quinn retreated step by step until she suddenly stopped against the cold wall, feeling his warm, large hands clasp her shoulders.

"Are you planning to abandon ?" His brows furrowed slightly, gazing at her with a serious tone: "This matter is non-negotiable."

Quinn was too angry to speak, her beautiful face tightly drawn. She didn’t understand why Elias was making it hard for her. It’s not like she hadn’t taken good care of him, and did he really expect her to serve him forever?

Pushing the man in front of her away, a hint of anger flashed in Quinn’s almond eyes.

"You...really hit hard for a woman." Elias turned to the side, holding his wound with a tight frown, seemingly in painful discomfort.

"What? I didn’t an to. Are you okay?" Quinn was frightened, her face turning pale, rushing to support Elias.

"I think my wound has split open, it hurts." The man sat slowly on the sofa with Quinn’s support, not daring to move too much, his voice deep.

Quinn looked at him, her small face filled with guilt and worry. "I’m sorry, it’s my fault. I didn’t an to. Quick, take off your shirt so I can check your wound," she said, crouching down with lips tightly pressed, her clear eyes full of concern.

Elias clenching his fists, seemingly trying to endure, shook his head slightly, eyes cast down.

"Then don’t move."

Without hesitation, Quinn raised her fair, slender hand, unbuttoning the man’s black shirt button by button, revealing his sexy, firm chest under the dazzling light.

Seeing Quinn so worried about him, Elias’s brow arched slightly, a hint of satisfaction overshadowing any sign of pain.

At that mont, the office door was gently pushed open, and Joyce Krar entered, holding a stack of docunts, frozen in place at the ambiguous sight before her.

Quinn snapped back to reality, awkwardly glancing at Joyce. Only then did she notice Elias’s half-open shirt and her hand resting on his chest.

Her face flushed red with embarrassnt, she quickly stepped back, bowing her head, not daring to et Elias’s eyes.

"What’s the matter?" Elias’s expression seed a bit somber, his voice calm as he slowly stood, buttoning his shirt with a cold gaze.

Swallowing hard, Joyce glanced at Quinn with an indescribable bitterness before leaving, closing the door behind her.

"Since Boss Sinclair is fine now, I won’t be coming anymore. Goodbye!" Quinn couldn’t suppress her dissatisfaction any longer, her voice raised involuntarily from anger.

Feigning a relapse to worry her was utterly unforgivable.

Not wanting to look at Elias anymore, Quinn turned and left, slamming the door with a loud bang.

Seeing that she was genuinely angry, Elias massaged his brow, his gaze growing deeper.

Taking his suit jacket from the coat rack, he strode out of the office with long steps.

Standing at the elevator with her al box, Quinn wore a long face. As the elevator doors opened, she saw Joyce inside. After hesitating for a mont, Quinn entered.

If she saw, then she saw. It wasn’t like Quinn had done anything wrong, so what was there to fear?
