Rebirth of the Movie Queen: Mrs. Sinclair, Please Hug Me! Chapter 133: Apologize to Her
"Why didn’t you co to the film crew, where are you now?" Elias Sinclair’s voice was low, mixed with a hint of impatience.
"Hotel, what’s up?" Quinn Lockwood guessed that Elias Sinclair was probably looking for her to talk about the trending topic, and imdiately frowned.
"Co downstairs in three minutes, hanging up." The man spoke with an authoritative tone, yet to Quinn’s surprise, he actually notified her before hanging up. For Quinn, who usually had the call abruptly ended by the other party, this was a rare courtesy.
Quinn stared at the screen, slightly stunned. If it weren’t for the unemotional tone, she would really doubt whether it was Elias Sinclair who called.
"What’s going on? Did sothing happen with the crew? I told you, my dear, stop making decisions on your own!" Anna exclaid as she saw Quinn’s puzzled expression and began her speech.
Quinn took a couple of deep breaths, forced a terrible smile, and said awkwardly, "Mr. Sinclair needs to see , I have to go. Don’t worry about the trending topic." With that, she didn’t give Anna a chance to reply and walked out quickly.
Once out of the hotel, she felt much lighter. She took a couple of deep breaths of fresh air and shook her head, as if trying to shake off a bunch of worries.
Seeing Quinn’s state from the car, Elias Sinclair couldn’t help but smile. When she got in, he teased, "Seeing co to pick you up, are you that excited?"
Quinn, feeling weary, leaned back in her seat, glanced sideways at Elias, and rolled her eyes, retorting, "I was shaking my head, saying no, no."
The man looked at Quinn with interest, the smile on his lips deepening.
"Where are we going?" Quinn asked, confused as he started the car.
"I have to go to the crew to hold a eting with all the heads and I’ll take you there with ," he replied, reverting to his stern poker face.
"It’s about ti for a eting, sigh." Quinn sighed helplessly, then turned to look out the window, saying no more.
A mont later, Quinn felt sothing was amiss, turned sharply to Elias, and said, "Wait, didn’t you just co from the crew? You were already there when you called , weren’t you? You ca to find since I wasn’t there, right?"
"Mm." Elias’s eyes flickered with a barely noticeable light, gave her a sidelong glance, and said nothing more.
"You didn’t co just to pick up, did you?" Quinn raised her eyebrows in disbelief, looking at the man beside her. But, on second thought, it seed completely absurd. If Elias were to throw her out of the car, she would totally believe it, but to specially co and pick her up... that was definitely impossible.
"Mm." The man was still sparing with words, only saying a single syllable. Quinn didn’t think this "mm" was an admission that he had specially co to pick her up; rather, she figured Elias just didn’t want to deal with her. She couldn’t be bothered to seek more discomfort and closed her eyes to rest.
Once they arrived at the crew, Elias imdiately went to discuss the next steps in the work plan with the director, assistant director, screenwriter, and producer. Due to Freya Caldwell’s incident, the female lead was once again replaced by Ariana Lynch.
Quinn thought this was fine since the two of them had already shot most of the scenes. It wouldn’t take much longer to wrap up the filming, and she could finally relax a bit.
"Why is she here again? With how strongly netizens are against her, she still has the nerve to act in this series?" Ariana Lynch’s little assistant looked disdainfully at Quinn Lockwood who was putting on makeup and whispered.
"Don’t speak carelessly. We follow Mr. Sinclair’s arrangents," Ariana chastised seriously, then cast a aningful glance in the direction where Quinn was.
"Savannah, so you’re here. I’ve been looking all over for you." Dylan Quinn stood at the doorway, seeing Quinn look composed, seemingly not too troubled by the online buzz, he felt relieved and walked over to her.
"Hey, you’re here. I haven’t seen you at the crew these past few days." Quinn straightened up, a hint of joy in her eyes.
Seeing Quinn so happy at his arrival, Dylan couldn’t help but smile, pinching her cheek as he said, "Seems like you’re glad to see . It proves you have so conscience after all. It’s not in vain that I’ve been worrying about you all these days."
"Ouch, that hurts! When have I lacked conscience?" Quinn winced in pain and swatted at Dylan’s hand, giving him a resentful look as she said, "You’ve got quite the grip! You’ve probably left a mark, and I still have scenes to shoot later!"
"I wouldn’t use that much force," Dylan joked half-heartedly, then suddenly turned to a worried expression as he looked at Quinn.
"But lately, I’ve been hearing the directors at the company discuss your situation. They seem quite displeased with this incident."
Hearing this, the slight joy that Quinn had vanished instantly, replaced by an expression of disdain and annoyance.
"Displeased with my actions? They don’t even know the truth of the matter. As my company, they don’t stand by and even join outsiders in pointing fingers." Quinn’s tone turned cool, but upon further thought, she found it a little ironic.
The company had always treated her like this. She was already used to it after so long, so she lazily leaned back in her chair.
She finally understood why Ethan was always so carefree and lazy-looking. He probably had faced countless troubles and setbacks, hence used such a facade for protection.
Thinking of the last ti he helped gather a bunch of evidence against Freya Caldwell, a glimr shone in Quinn’s eyes and her lips curled slightly.
Looks like she needed to catch up with this old friend.
"I believe in you, Savannah. No matter what others say, I’ll always support you." Dylan’s voice echoed in her ears, and as Quinn looked up at him, she felt his gentle yet firm gaze bring her warmth.
"Thanks!" Quinn grinned widely and continued, "When we’re shooting, I need to give it my all. I can’t always let you steer the emotions; sotis I have to lead you, too."
"Sigh, I wonder if anyone will even watch this series once it’s done. Poor Ariana, getting dragged into all of this," Ariana Lynch’s manager lanted as she filed her nails, her gaze occasionally drifting toward Quinn.
"Yeah, who’d have thought that so people, who seem all glamorous, are doing disgusting things behind the scenes. I think the director’s in big trouble this ti. Before the series even aired, the reputation is already this bad," Ariana’s little assistant said, looking directly at Quinn with utter disdain.
"Alright, alright, I act the sa with anyone. Don’t speak that way about Savannah," Ariana waved her hand, indicating they stop talking, then slowly rose to approach Quinn, wearing an innocent expression.
