Chapter 170: Chapter 170: You’re Quite Efficient Chapter 170: Chapter 170: You’re Quite Efficient Ji Xinghang had already guessed Luo Ning would ask this.

He said truthfully, “I have all of them in my laptop and on my phone, the one where you were acting spoiled and I scolded you.”

After speaking, he also opened his phone’s album and handed it over to Luo Ning.

Luo Ning took it and looked through it, finding that in addition to the photos that had been leaked online, there were also so solo shots of her and pictures of them from their childhood to adulthood.

Many of the group photos were clearly taken secretly.

Luo Ning was smart and after looking asked, “Were these taken by Uncle Ji back in the days?”

She then frowned and said, “No, that can’t be right. Uncle Ji hadn’t found you guys when we were in elentary school.”

Ji Xinghang replied, “That part was obtained by my dad from a private investigator.”

“That was the woman who drove my mom away, she had hired a private investigator to take those pictures.”

“My dad also followed this clue, and then traced it back to find my mother and .”

“The pictures from our junior high and high school days were taken by people my dad hired.”

“At that ti he knew about my existence and wanted to fulfill his responsibilities as a father.”

“My mom didn’t care for him and was even less willing to co ho, so he had people take photos of my day-to-day life and sent them back to him.”

“He also let my grandma see them, hoping to use to soften the relationship between her and my mom.”

“We’ve barely ever been apart since we were little, so when they took pictures of , they ended up capturing a lot of group shots with you too.”

Luo Ning nodded, “I see.”

She then asked, “So why would our pictures end up online?”

“It wasn’t Uncle Ji who posted them, right?” She felt that Mr. Ji didn’t seem like soone who would do such a thing.

Ji Xinghang shook his head, “I have just called my dad to ask; he didn’t post them.”

Luo Ning asked, “Then it couldn’t be that your or Uncle Ji’s computers were hacked, right?”

Ji Xinghang shook his head again, “That’s not it.”

“So what then?”

Ji Xinghang looked at Luo Ning cautiously, like a child who had done sothing wrong, and said, “Although I didn’t post them myself, it’s still my fault.”

Luo Ning raised an eyebrow, “Continue.”

Ji Xinghang took a deep breath and said, “I used to pick a few photos from our ti in elentary to high school that I thought were good and posted them on a Penguin secondary account’s space.”

“That account hadn’t been used for a long ti, so I never thought that soone would find these pictures from there and leak them online.”

If it hadn’t been for those pictures surfacing today, he would have nearly forgotten about that Penguin secondary account — more accurately, he had tried to forget that he had such an account.

After all, that was sothing rather childish he had done, kind of a dark history for him.

Later, thinking it was silly, he had wanted to delete the pictures from that space but couldn’t bring himself to do it, and ended up leaving it be.

Who would have thought it would be taken advantage of like this? He thought to himself if only he had deleted them since he had those pictures on his computer and phone anyway.

“…” Luo Ning was at a loss for words, this guy had actually done sothing like that.

She asked, “When did you do this?”

Ji Xinghang cleared his throat, “When I first started university.”

At that ti, he had returned to the Imperial Capital and the Ji Family, while Luo Ning was still attending high school in her original city.

One day when he particularly missed her, he had looked through those pictures and impulsively did this.

Luo Ning touched her forehead, suddenly at a loss for what to say.

“Who do you think is behind this?” she asked.

Considering, Ji Xinghang couldn’t co up with an answer, “I don’t know.”

“But don’t worry, I’ll take care of this investigation,” he reassured.

He had been reluctant to show these pictures to anyone in the past, but now he sowhat enjoyed it, as if he and Luo Ning had returned to how it once was.

But he knew Luo Ning wasn’t happy, so he would investigate and also make sure the pictures would not spread any further.

Luo Ning gave him a deep look, “Then go investigate. Those photos, you should delete them all.”

Ji Xinghang couldn’t believe it, his eyes red as he stared at her, “You want to delete those photos? Those are our most beautiful mories, how can you be so heartless.”

Luo Ning was speechless, this guy actually had the audacity to look at her with a “you heartless traitor” expression.

She pursed her lips and, after a long while, sighed, “Even the most beautiful mories are just that, mories. What’s in the past is in the past.”

Ji Xinghang stood up, hands on the table, his eyes redder, “I won’t do it, I absolutely won’t delete them.”

How could she be so heartless, not even leaving him the last thing to hold on to.

But he couldn’t do it.

Just then, Luo Ning’s cellphone notification sounded.

She opened it to see a ssage from Lu Xun.

She got up and glanced at Ji Xinghang, “Suit yourself.”

Then she left without hesitation.

As they passed each other, Ji Xinghang grabbed her arm, “Is Lu looking for you?”

He had just seen the na Lu on Luo Ning’s phone screen when she checked her ssage.

Luo Ning didn’t deny it, “Yeah.”

Ji Xinghang felt like his heart was shattering, “What is your relationship with him?”

Luo Ning broke free from his grasp, “It’s none of your business.”

Then she quickly left the bookstore, leaving behind a pained Ji Xinghang.

Luo Ning walked out of the inn and saw Lu Xun standing under a tree not far away.

The moonlight fell on him, casting a layer of coldness over his entire figure.

She walked over, “Is there a problem?”

Lu Xun apologized with a trace of regret, “Sorry, your past photos with Ji Xinghang were leaked onto the trending searches; it has sothing to do with .”

Luo Ning looked at him, surprised, “What happened?”

Lu Xun didn’t hide anything and shared the information he’d found out.

“There’s a family friend of mine; their daughter has been saying she wants to marry since we were little, but I never agreed or promised.”

“Recently, she discovered I had a very good relationship with you on the show and that we’ve frequently been in touch privately. I’ve started to have feelings for you, so she had soone investigate you.”

“She found out you and Ji Xinghang were childhood friends and grew up together; she even got hold of your old photos and had soone leak them online.”

“She was trying to emotionally bind you to Ji Xinghang and cause a misunderstanding, hoping I would give up.”

Lu Xun emphasized, “I’ve only t her three tis in my life, never speaking more than ten sentences each ti, so I had no idea she would think such things, let alone do sothing like this.”

“I’ve already had the trending searches and photos pulled; I’ll take care of the matter with her.” He had never foreseen such a rotten peach blossom appearing.

Since it was his rotten peach blossom, it was naturally up to him to deal with it.

Luo Ning did not expect the situation to be like this. She checked her phone and found that indeed the trending searches and photos were gone.

Not only that, but even the previous discussion posts about the photos had disappeared.

“You’re quite efficient,” she remarked.

She did not bla him; after all, it wasn’t his doing, and it was clear that he was earnestly dealing with the aftermath.

Lu Xun didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, “Should I thank you for the complint?”

He breathed a sigh of relief inside; it seed Luo Ning wasn’t angry.

Seeing Lu about to speak again, Luo Ning preemptively said, “Then I’ll leave it to you to handle, I won’t get involved.”

“Leaving it to is fine.” Lu nodded.

He took a step forward, just as he was about to speak.

Luo Ning waved her hand at him, “I’m going back to rest. See you tomorrow!”

Then she turned and quickly went back to the inn, leaving behind the Lu who had wanted to seize the opportunity to confess but had not yet had the chance to speak.
