Chapter 111: Chapter 111 Lu Has No Sha Chapter 111: Chapter 111 Lu Has No Sha Lu Xun saw a hint of a smile in Luo Ning’s eyes and knew he had done sothing to her liking.
“How about it, are you satisfied?” he asked.
Luo Ning looked at him with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile, “You an, you did this because of ?”
Lu Xun never thought of doing good deeds anonymously. “Of course, otherwise why would I waste that ti?”
Luo Ning couldn’t help but laugh, “It seems Mr. Lu has really gone out of his way to recruit into the special departnt!”
“Yep, it’s all up to Queen Luo now,” Lu Xun said with a hooked lip and a smile.
Hearing this, Luo Ning always felt there was sothing odd about it.
She coughed lightly, “I was joking last night, you don’t have to call that.”
She always felt that such a title was fitting for soone with an out-of-the-ordinary relationship; Queen or whatever sounded a bit ambiguous.
Lu Xun’s laughter spilled out, “I think it’s quite nice!”
Luo Ning glared at him, “Anyway, you’re not allowed to call that anymore.”
If soone overheard, they might think she had done sothing to Emperor Lu, or that they were playing so ambiguous ga.
Lu Xun laughed again, his voice tinged with indulgence, “Alright, I’ll listen to you.”
He then asked, “So, what shall I call you? Ningning? Ningbao?”
Luo Ning shrugged indifferently, “Ningning, Ningbao, both are fine, I don’t mind.”
Lu Xun leaned in a bit closer, a low laugh escaping him, “But I do mind, Ningning, Ningbao, everyone else calls you that.”
Luo Ning: “…” Lu even hides such a shaless side.
“Then what do you want to call ?” Luo Ning raised her eyebrows at him.
Lu Xun thought to himself that he couldn’t say what he really wanted to call her just yet.
He compromised with a nickna, “Why don’t I call you Luoluo?”
That was sothing he had never heard anyone else call her before.
He’d start with that and change to what he really wanted to call her later.
Luo Ning found the nickna acceptable, so she nodded, “Fine then, Mr. Lu. Whatever makes you happy.”
“Then you also shouldn’t call Mr. Lu or Lu anymore,” Lu Xun seized the opportunity to negotiate a benefit for himself.
Luo Ning asked impatiently, “Then what should I call you? Xunxun? I’m afraid your fans will kill .”
“How could they, my fans aren’t violent,” Lu Xun said with a smile. “I think Xunxun is not bad.”
He jokingly added, “Or you can call Brother Lu if you like.”
Luo Ning: “…” She had never realized before that Emperor Lu could be so shaless.
“Xunxun,” “Brother Lu,” she couldn’t bring herself to say those nas; they were just friends, calling him that felt embarrassingly intimate.
Luo Ning rolled her eyes at him and said haughtily, “I won’t. I’ll just call you Mr. Lu, Lu.”
Lu Xun found her haughty behavior adorable, “Alright, whatever you call , I’m fine with it.”
Luo Ning: “…” She couldn’t continue this conversation properly; Lu was shaless.
A strange feeling began to stir within her. What was Lu Xun up to?
What was even more peculiar to her was that sohow, this version of Lu Xun felt familiar, as if she was used to him like this.
In fact, she preferred spending ti with him now, in his unmasked, shaless form, over the polished and grace-filled movie star she had first t.
Unable to stop herself, she asked, “Mr. Lu, which one is the real you?”
Lu Xun knew what she ant and, with a smile, pulled at his collar and replied, “Of course, both are . But one is Lu in public, and the other is the real .”
The refined and elegant persona was just his public image.
Luo Ning got it right away, “So that’s the kind of person God Lu is. I wonder if your fans will still love you once they see the real you.”
“Whether my fans love or not isn’t important. I’m not planning to stay in the entertainnt circle much longer anyway.” Lu Xun shrugged it off with a smile, his gaze deepening as he looked at her.
As long as a certain soone loved him, that was enough.
Luo Ning avoided his gaze, catching a faint dicinal scent on him. Changing the topic, she asked, “Are you injured?”
Lu Xun nodded, “I got a little hurt on a mission a few days ago, but it’s mostly healed now.”
It was that mission that had triggered the return of his mories, reminding him of many things.
“That’s good,” Luo Ning said with a smile. “It seems the tasks for your special departnt are quite dangerous.”
“The injury happened because I suddenly got a headache that affected my performance; though so tasks are indeed dangerous.” Lu Xun explained.
That day’s car accident also happened because he was suddenly struck by a splitting headache and his vision went black, preventing him from avoiding the oncoming truck in ti.
It happened again during this mission, a wave of darkness and pain hit him and by the ti he recovered, he was already injured.
But now, he had a pretty good understanding of why the headaches occurred and was confident that it wouldn’t happen again.
“I invited you to join the special departnt mainly because there are special perks for the internal staff.”
He paused before continuing, “For example, only after joining can you learn so secrets that can’t be disclosed to the public, and news about items that Feng Shui Masters need.”
“After missions, you can select rewards, which are rarely available to others.”
The last ti he saw Han Chi inviting Luo Ning, it seed she was sowhat interested, so he decided to invite her himself.
After all, as the departnt head, he could offer privileges and benefits that others couldn’t.
Luo Ning had wanted to join the special departnt not only to use it in her investigations but also for the reasons Lu Xun ntioned.
“If I join the special departnt, won’t I then be your subordinate?” she asked.
Lu Xun smiled as he replied, “I was just about to tell you that.”
“Although I applied for a formal position for you, it’s more of an external auxiliary, free in terms of personal ti. You’re not under anyone’s jurisdiction in the special departnt.”
“Our relationship is more like a partnership with the special departnt.”
“You won’t be given compulsory tasks, and you’ll be able to join the internal network to choose any task you’d like to participate in.”
He paused for a mont before adding, “The salary isn’t high, and rewards are based on points earned from completed tasks.”
This was the best and most liberated perk he had secured for Luo Ning.
Luo Ning was surprised, obviously not expecting Lu Xun to make such arrangents.
She had wanted to enter the special departnt on a cooperative basis and was prepared not to join if it wasn’t possible.
Who knew Lu Xun would take the initiative to arrange everything for her, as if he knew her thoughts well, very considerate.
“Then thank you, Mr. Lu,” she said, looking up and smiling.
His eyes deep, Lu Xun asked, “So, are you accepting my invitation?”
Luo Ning nodded with a smile, “You’re offering such good terms, I’m not foolish, of course I agree.”
Lu Xun’s lips curved, and he extended his hand, “We’re colleagues now, looking forward to a pleasant cooperation!”
Luo Ning shook his hand, “Looking forward to a pleasant cooperation!”
“I’ll get the credentials sorted out at the top, get it to you, and then take you to the special departnt headquarters to get to know the place and the other staff,” Lu Xun said cheerfully.
Luo Ning nodded, “Alright, then I’ll trouble you with that.”
Lu Xun said aningfully, “There’s no need for such formality between us.”
