Chapter 590: 167: Familiar feeling, taking Shangguan Dehui ho (17 updates)_1

Shangguan Dehui hadn’t expected to et a familiar face deep in these old mountains.

Even more unexpected was that it was Ni Cuihua, soone he had t twice before.

Ni Cuihua imdiately put down her back basket, crouching on the ground. She gripped the wild grass near the edge of the trap tightly with one hand, and reached into the trap with the other, “Mr. Shangguan, quick, grab my hand. I’ll pull you up.”

Shangguan Dehui reached out and even stood on his tiptoes, but they fell short of a few centitres.

He tried jumping, yet still couldn’t reach Ni Cuihua’s hand.

At this ti, Ni Cuihua continued, “Mr. Shangguan, please wait a mont. I will go find a sturdier stick to help you.”

The long stick she had been using to part the wild grass was too thin to support the weight of an adult.

There were many large pine trees in the mountains, but few branches that could be used as sticks. Ni Cuihua also didn’t have an axe or similar tool at hand, making it impossible to cut a wooden stick.

Helplessly, Ni Cuihua could only move a large rock over, “Mr. Shangguan, please move aside. I will throw this rock down so you can step on it and grab my hand.”

Shangguan Dehui nodded, “Alright, thank you for your trouble.”

Ni Cuihua rolled the large rock down alongside the pit wall. This ti, when Shangguan Dehui stepped on the rock, he was indeed able to easily grab Ni Cuihua’s hand.

Their hands gripped tightly.

Ni Cuihua’s hand was not like those of ordinary farm won. It wasn’t rough, nor did it have thick callouses. It was unusually soft in his grip, leaving Shangguan Dehui montarily dazed.

The reason Ni Cuihua’s hands were so well-maintained was largely thanks to Ni Yang’s skin care products, along with the effects of a proper diet.

All those beauty and health foods she ate daily weren’t for nothing.

“Mr. Shangguan, hold on, I am going to pull you up.”

“Alright.” Shangguan Dehui clenched Ni Cuihua’s hand.

Shangguan Dehui was an adult male with a height of 1.85 ters. The trap was also wet and slippery due to the recent rain. Even with great strength, there was no way Ni Cuihua could pull him out at once.

At this mont, the wild grass that Ni Cuihua was clutching suddenly snapped!

“Bang!”

Shangguan Dehui didn’t have ti to react, and Ni Cuihua was brought down by a sudden force.

Both of them fell to the ground.

To be precise, Shangguan Dehui fell onto the ground, and Ni Cuihua was on top of him.

They looked at each other like that, as if ti stood still at that mont.

Although Ni Cuihua was already thirty-seven, there was no trace of the years on her face.

Her deanor was composed and graceful.

Through the tumult, it seed he saw a familiar sight long absent in her eyes.

Where had they t before?

Shangguan Dehui narrowed his eyes.

Ever since she left Dam Village, this was the first ti Ni Cuihua had been this close to a man. Her heart was pounding uncontrollably. It took her so ti to collect herself, to get off Shangguan Dehui and ask, “Mr. Shangguan, are you alright?”

“I’m fine, how about you?” Shangguan Dehui also collected himself at this mont.

“I’m okay too,” Ni Cuihua stood up, looking up at the ground, “Now what? How are we going to get back up?”

“Don’t rush. We’ll find a way.” Shangguan Dehui reassured her.

Just then, Shangguan Dehui found a length of vine. It must have been carried down unintentionally when Ni Cuihua fell.

The vine was about as thick as a little finger. Shangguan Dehui gave it a tug and found it to be sturdy.

“I’ll try climbing up first. If I make it, I’ll pull you up.” Shangguan Dehui looked at Ni Cuihua.

“Alright.” Ni Cuihua nodded.

Shangguan Dehui gripped the vine, gritting his teeth against the pain in his ankle, and managed to climb up in a few movents.

Ni Cuihua also quickly started climbing the vine.

“Comrade, give your hand!” Shangguan Dehui reached out to Ni Cuihua.

n are generally stronger than won. Shangguan Dehui easily pulled Ni Cuihua up.

“Oh my! We finally made it up!” Ni Cuihua let out a long breath of relief.

“Comrade, thank you so much for today.” Shangguan Dehui thanked Ni Cuihua.

Ni Cuihua laughed and said, “It’s fine, it’s fine. You once helped too, rember? It’s getting late; we should hurry down the mountain. When the fog thickens, it will be difficult to descend.”

“Alright.” Shangguan Dehui rose from the ground.

At that mont, Ni Cuihua slled the tallic scent of blood in the air, “Mr. Shangguan, are you injured?”

“It’s nothing, just a skin wound!” Shangguan Dehui said casually.

Shangguan Dehui had injured his foot; he was limping, and the descent down the mountain was exceedingly difficult.

“Let assist you.” Ni Cuihua supported Shangguan Dehui’s arm.

At this mont, even Shangguan Dehui could not pretend to be strong; he had no choice but to rely on Ni Cuihua for support, “Thank you.”

By this ti, the sky was completely dark, and there was not a single person on the mountain.

After about half an hour, the two of them had finally managed to descend the mountain. Ni Cuihua then suggested: “Mr. Shangguan, you’re injured, and there are no cars in the countryside. Why don’t we go to my house to bandage your wound first?”

Even though it might be problematic for a bachelor to enter a widow’s ho, Shangguan Dehui had helped her, and he was injured so severely. Leaving him in the countryside didn’t seem right either.

Moreover, it was night ti, and people likely wouldn’t notice them.

Shangguan Dehui hesitated, “Would it be too much of an imposition?”

“Not at all, my daughter is a doctor, she can help treat your wound.”

As soon as Ni Cuihua led Shangguan Dehui to her front door, it was imdiately opened from the inside.

Ni Yang stepped out.

“Yangyang!”

Ni Yang exclaid in surprise: “Mom, you’re back! I was just about to look for you. What happened to you?”

It had rained on the mountain, and Ni Cuihua had fallen into a trap, so there was mud all over her, making her appearance sowhat disheveled.

Just as Ni Yang made her comnt, she noticed Shangguan Dehui, “Mom, who is this?”

Shangguan Dehui didn’t look much better, especially with his injured foot; his face was sowhat pale.

Ni Cuihua said: “Let’s go inside first.”

“Alright.” Ni Yang nodded and helped Ni Cuihua assist the man inside.

Once they were inside the house, Ni Cuihua introduced him to Ni Yang, “This is your Uncle Shangguan, the kind man your mom t on the bus last ti. Mr. Shangguan, this is my eldest daughter Ni Yang, better known as Yangyang.”

Shangguan Dehui nodded at Ni Yang, “Hello young comrade Yangyang.”

“Hello Uncle Shangguan.” Ni Yang was aware of the kind man that Ni Cuihua had t on the bus last ti.

Ni Cuihua continued to explain, “Your Uncle Shangguan fell into a hunting trap while hiking up the mountain, injuring his leg. Yangyang, can you please take a look and see if it’s serious?”

Ni Yang nodded, “Sure, Uncle Shangguan please take a seat.”

Shangguan Dehui sat on a chair and rolled up his pant leg. His ankle was severely wounded, as though it had been cut by a sharp object, and blood was still seeping from the wound.

The sight was sowhat ghastly.

Ni Cuihua frowned slightly, unable to imagine how Shangguan Dehui had climbed out of the trap, let alone how he had managed to walk down the rugged mountain path.

His endurance was extraordinary.

Ni Yang then said, “The wound is quite deep, stitches might be required.”

“Young comrade, can you stitch it?” Shangguan Dehui asked.

Ni Yang nodded, “Uncle Shangguan, are you willing to let stitch it?” As an eighteen-year-old, many people doubted her dical skills. Therefore, before she could proceed with the stitching, she needed to obtain Shangguan Dehui’s approval.

Shangguan Dehui chuckled, “Why should I fear?”

“Then please wait a mont, I’ll go prepare so things.” Ni Yang turned and went into the house.

Ni Cuihua followed her in.

After stepping inside, she briefly explained Shangguan Dehui’s situation to Ni Yang.

Ni Yang wasn’t the type to be unreasonable. Considering Shangguan Dehui was Ni Cuihua’s benefactor, it was only right for her to help him in this situation.

Having returned from a different era, her thoughts weren’t as traditional, nor did she have such societal shackles.

By studying Shangguan Dehui’s facial features, she could tell that he was not a bad person.

Seeing that Ni Yang had no particular reaction, Ni Cuihua heaved a sigh of relief.

Bringing a man ho out of the blue, she had thought that Ni Yang would be angry!

Ni Yang picked up the dical box and added, “Mom, why don’t you take a bath first?”
