Astonished to find she had slept through the longest night of her life, Eveline had no idea how long she had slept.
Normally, those nightmares would keep her awake, but this ti she slept soundly through the night.
After realizing at last what ti it was, she made Gabriel drive her ho, where she found an anxious Susan frantically calling soone.
As soon as their gazes locked, Susan ran to her, abandoning everything.
"Young Miss, why is your phone off and where did you go all of a sudden?" Susan asked, finally being able to exhale with relief.
Upon hearing her words, Eveline frowned and reached into her pocket to take out her phone, only to find it turned off.
"Un, how did it turn off?" She whispered as she stared at the blank screen.
"I believe it ran out of battery," she said, darting her gaze back at Susan and shoveling the phone back into her pocket
"And by the way I went out for so work. Sorry I couldn't tell you as it was urgent" she added putting an end to Susan's worry.
Eveline purposely didn't talk about Gabriel a she didn't wanted anyone to gossip about it, so an alibi was fine to conclude everything.
Susan nodded, believing her words.
"Do you want to bring you dinner?" she inquired.
"Yeah, I am so hungry," Eveline said, and she headed upstairs.
Eveline ate dinner in her room prior to Susan leaving for her ho.
She was just lying in bed when her phone buzzed, causing her to quickly pick it up to see who it was—it was Gabriel, of course—texting her.
'I hope you have a good sleep. Miss you'
The words in the ssage made Eveline cringe, and she threw her phone aside. She cursed herself for allowing herself to beco weak in front of Gabriel now that she was coherent again.
However, her thoughts quickly turned to the kiss and the heart-pounding comnt he made despite his anger.
"Gabriel loves ," she exclaid as she stumbled onto the bed.
Eveline's hand went to cover her mouth as the sudden realization struck her like a thunderbolt.
With a bewildered blink, she let out a long, slow breath.
The confession ca out of nowhere, but Eveline knew that all he had said was accurate.
"It will not be a haste to give him a chance since he does not know about our past, right?" Eveline was thinking to herself as she debated whether or not to give Gabriel a fair chance, when she was again startled by a buzzing sound.
Eveline let out a cry of frustration and picked up the phone, believing it to be Gabriel again. However, she was mistaken, as Alex was the one who sent the ssage.

"What does that signify?" Eveline silently scrolled to see if he had sent any new ssages, but she got nothing.
Eveline thought that Alex was attempting to get in touch with her, but she was too busy to reply.
Although she had many admirers at the ti, none of them ever approached her because they knew she loved Gabriel.
However, since her relationship status changed to single, Alex and Gabriel started pursuing her.
"Eveline Miller, what an interesting life you lead." With a hint of mocking humor, she said, "These two boys are trying to win you over, but you really just want to live in peace and are not interested in any of them."
Eveline slid the phone into the drawer after turning it off. She was not ready to deal with anyone at the mont, but she was also far too far gone to sleep.
So, before going to bed, she decided to study to divert her thoughts.

When Eveline arrived at the college the following morning, Alex appeared to be waiting exclusively for her.
"Eve, is everything alright? How co you did not reply to my text ssage?" He inquired after failing to get an answer from her end last night.
Eveline furrowed at his dumbness and chuckled awkwardly.
"You wanted to reply to the ssage with the question mark? What am I supposed to get out of that?" She enquired, thinking back to the lone text she would receive from him.
"It was sent later, but I did text you earlier," said Alex, who was puzzled by her strange behavior. "Didn't you read it?"
Alex could not understand why Eveline was acting so naive about the text when he could provide evidence to support her confusion.
He pushed the phone screen in front of her eyes and said, "See, I did express my gratitude to you."
Eveline squinted her eyes and read the ssage Alex texted her; however, she never ca across it.
"You texted ?" Perplexed, she asked, and he nodded in return.
When Eveline looked at the ssage again, she saw that the ti it was sent was the sa as when she was Gabriel.
With a trembling breath, Eveline attempted to smile and laughed clumsily.
"Oh.... So you were asking about this ssage, haha, I thought sothing else". Eveline lied and quickly changed the statent.
Though Alex scowled, he gave in to her words and did not bother her for too long.
"I am sorry, Alex. I couldn't reply since I went to bed a little early. But I will respond to you personally right now." She pretended to be an angel in front of Alex, who lted at the sight of her smile.
"I am glad to help you. All you have to do is trust and our friendship," she uttered, gazing directly into his eyes.
Alex nodded in agreent, his heart palpating.
"Eveline, I trust you." He uttered those words, utterly beguiled by her deceptive attempt to bring him to his knees.
Upon entering the main building, the two observed a cluster of students gathered around a specific noticeboard.
"Is there any announcent?" Eveline muttered and they quickly made their way towards the crowd.
Eveline and Alex pushed their way through the throng of students to the notice board.
"A free dical checkup for students has been arranged by the college." As Eveline told Alex the news, her eyes sparkled with excitent.
However, his expression instantly turned pale as he kept staring blankly at the green board.
Eveline, who caught a glimpse of Alex's stillness from the corner of her eye, grinned inwardly.
Given that Alex took dication, she was aware that the staff would quickly learn of his dical history and would eventually call his parents to confirm it.
As Eveline was ntally relishing her victory, there was a certain soone who was brandishing daggers at the boy who was standing beside her.
"Why would college arrange a dical checkup out of the blue? Don't you think it's done at the beginning of the year?" Gabriel turned to look at Daniel as his voice broke the deadly stare.
"Perhaps they wish to confirm the student's well-being," he remarked, and they quickly made their way upstairs.
"It is surprising, but I suppose it is a wise move." Unaware that Gabriel had suggested it to Benjamin to expose Alex in front of them, Daniel muttered, "At least we would have an update on our health."
Normally, colleges conduct a physical examination at the start of the year that includes taking a student's height and weight and performing a standard blood test. However, this ti, doctors were brought in to assess the students' ntal health.
They were worried that the overwhelming number of subjects students were taking was having an impact on their ntal health. Thus, Benjamin accepted Gabriel's suggestion regarding the ntal health checkup.
Gabriel would do whatever it took to make Alex's reality known to everyone and remove him from Eveline's life.
While Daniel proceeded his way, Gabriel was about to enter his class when he encountered a roadblock.
Gabriel grew gloomy as he observed Tiffany positioned in front of him.
"Gabriel, I would like to speak with you," she said, averting his intense gaze.
"And what if I say no?" was his reply.
Tiffany crossed her hands and let out a deep breath, expressing her annoyance at his rejection.
"What if I claim it has sothing to do with Eveline? Will you still decline?" inquired she.
Tiffany was unsure if Gabriel's thoughts about Eveline had changed, even though she knew he had seen the pictures she sent him. To assess how far she had gone to undermine that faith, she needed to know how much he trusted the girl.
The fact that Tiffany would not allow him to leave until she confronted him made it obvious to Gabriel that she was planning sothing.
It was clear that Tiffany had purposely sent him those pictures and then brought Alex to show him that Eveline was two-timing them. But fortunately, they were able to get through her plan and now it was ti for them to play her.
After remaining silent for a brief while, Gabriel nodded to her, which instantly brightened her mood.
