Feeling overtaken by her comnt, Eveline blinked the tears from her eyes and grinned.

"Of course, and there is no way I am going to let you go," Eveline said with conviction.

Susan gave Eveline a gentle smile before deciding to head out; however, she once again stopped her.

"Ah, Aunt Susan, there is sothing I wanted to ask you." Susan turned to face her and nodded understandingly.

"Your daughter, I never saw her again after that day. Why did she cease to visit?" Eveline inquired, leaving Susan cautioned by her remark.

It was an unexpected question Eveline raised after years; however, she was glad to know that she still rembered Tiffany.

"Her father requested that she remain in the house," Susan remarked, a hint of lancholy appearing in her eyes.

"Oh," Eveline uttered, rembering what she had heard about her husband's abusive behavior.

"I was wondering if you could bring her back. She just so happened to be the person who helped back then, and I suddenly realized I do not have that many friends." Eveline was hesitant, but she still managed to say what she was thinking.

She wanted to thank the girl for playing with her back then, but she never ca and now that her thought suddenly crossed her mind, she wanted to rekindle the friendship.

Susan gave Eveline a perplexed look, causing her to chuckle at her.

"Why are you staring at strangely, Aunty?" Eveline inquired.

"That is because, young Miss, I assud you had already t my daughter." Eveline's smile faltered and her brows creased in confusion.

"How would I et her, Aunty?" she inquired, continuing to be perplexed by her response.

"It is because she attends your college," Susan said, causing her curiosity to deepen into a frown.

"My college, you an to say Aspen College?" Eveline gaped in shock and she nodded with a smile.

"She received a scholarship and it got her into Aspen College," Susan proudly announced.

Eveline was shocked to learn that Susan's daughter was enrolled in her college but had never t her.

"What is her na and which course did she choose?" Eveline further inquired.

Now that she finally got to learn about her daughter, her excitent peaked as she couldn't wait to et her in person once again.

Susan was about to speak, but the sudden interruption of the phone call stopped her.

Eveline darted her gaze towards her phone and smiled cheekily.

"Don't worry, answer the phone," Susan said, quickly leaving the room.

With a frown, Eveline marched furiously towards her bed. She had guessed who the person was, so she was not shocked in the slightest.

Thanks to the cheesy caller tune she set for him.

"Yes, Gabriel," she replied idly, rolling her eyes as she pondered why he had called her out of the blue.

"Dear, it is , Aunt Belle." Eveline snapped out of her reverie upon hearing Belle's voice and yanked the phone back to see Gabriel's na displayed.

"I-I am sorry, Aunt Belle; I thought it was Gabriel," Eveline apologized. ntally cursing for her blunt mouth earlier.

Ignoring her earlier remarks, Belle grinned and inquired, "Eve, I made your favorite caral donuts. I will be sending it with Gabriel, so please eat them."

Eveline scowled in confusion before nodding. "Yes, Aunt Belle, I will, but why did you tell over Gabriel's phone? You may have given a personal call."

Belle beca uncomfortable listening to her and fidgeted as she spoke. "Eve, I have a question for you," she said.

With a persistent frown, Eveline nodded. "Yes, Aunty, you can ask anything," Eveline answered.

Belle's reluctance to speak in front of her was strange because it had never happened before. She is now compelled, so why would she say no?

"I was wondering whether you and Gabriel argued over sothing. I an, you do not seem to co visit us very often," Belle asked slowly, her gaze darting to Daniel, who gave her a supportive nod.

Belle nodded understandingly and waited assiduously for Eveline's reply.

Daniel leaped with excitent, looking at Gabriel, who gave him a cold glare in return.

"I-It's not what you think, Aunty. I just have too much on my plate with classes, and as you are aware, Gabriel also provides with extra coaching. That's why I am not able to visit you all." Eveline clarified that she was perplexed as to how Belle discovered her disagreent with Gabriel.

"I get it, honey, but please co visit these two elderly people so ti. It has been days since you were here," Belle asked, thinking back to Eveline's frequent visits.

Belle's words made Eveline feel horrible. She knew it wasn't anyone's fault that her relationship with Gabriel soured, but now she realized her mistake and quickly agreed with her.

"I promise, Aunty, I will co there more often," Eveline said, bringing a content smile to Belle's face.

"Now that my daughter has promised , I am not sad anymore. But make sure you eat the donuts I sent with Gabriel. I won't mind if you refuse to share with him." In the latter part, she made lighthearted whispers, leaving everyone surprised by her comnt.

Soon after ending the call, Belle continued to smile until soone inside the room spoke.

"Are you sure there is nothing wrong between and Eve?" Gabriel questioned, casting a sharp glance at Belle.

Hesitantly getting up, Belle awkwardly cleared her throat and threw his phone back at him.

"You know I have to be careful when it cos to you two. She is, after all, my daughter, and I will not put up with it if I ever learn that you have hurt her." Belle ignored the excruciating stare from Gabriel and stated her point.

"But Mom, when I said Eveline is upset with her brother, I was not lying," Daniel said, following his mother's movent.

Daniel knew that his brother would beat the living daylights out of him if he stayed here for even a mont longer without his mother's protection. So he decides to sneak.

"Danny, did you tell Mom about your marks for this unit test?" Gabriel asked stopping Daniel even before he could take a step.

"Your results are out and yet you have not inford us?" Belle gaped, turning her head in Daniel's direction

Daniel, who was sobbing quietly inside, slowly turned to look at his mother and awkwardly smiled.

"Ah, Mom that," He fumbled his words until Gabriel said it out of the blue.

"You both stay here. I am going to leave now." Gabriel glared at Daniel and left his room with a smug expression on his face.

"So what were you saying?" Belle questioned with her hands crossed and her eyes demanding an explanation from her younger son.
