Erna's refusal to speak created a deafening silence in the room. Even though her condition had improved, she still had a distant aura that prevented anyone from approaching her.
By the ti everyone arrived, Jonathan had already attempted to speak to her, but she remained silent.
At first, he assud it was her shock that kept her from speaking, but when he saw how her eyes shone at the sight of their daughter and her lips parted to speak, he realized she was waiting for her.
"I rembered everything."
Eveline and the others paused as soon as she uttered it.
Jonathan, who had been holding Erna's hand steady, began to lose his grip on her.
Erna would not have fainted if she hadn't pushed herself to think so hard that everything beca obvious.
"W-who was it?" Jonathan asked, gathering his courage.
Though his heart was racing inside, he refused to let his anxieties show on his face.
They had finally found the truth they were looking for.
Erna turned to face Jonathan, her eyes red as tears shimred, and she spoke.

Everything fell silent as Jonathan struggled to comprehend her words. It wasn't what he expected to hear, but when he felt Erna grip his hand, his doubts vanished.
[Twenty-five years ago.]
Recently, Erna and Jonathan both experienced blessings. Their parents approved of their relationship, and their love for one another grew even stronger.
Like every other couple, they were looking forward to new beginnings, but the remorse of hurting Jedrick was always at the back of their minds.
He may have forgiven them, but they couldn't for hurting a kind man.
Especially Erna. Throughout their engagent, he was the one who made kind gestures toward her. He'd try to make her pleased and be thoughtful of her.
Erna felt particularly terrible because she believed she had hurt a kind man.
"What's wrong? Why are you not eating anything?" Jonathan's voice shattered her ditation, focusing her attention on him.
Erna sighed and leaned back, folding the cloth on her lap and setting it back on the table. The feeling of unease in her heart did not seem to go away, which made Jonathan concerned about her.
"I don't think I've done enough to earn Jedrick's apologies," she exclaid with a long breath.
Jonathan now grasped her worries. He had been thinking about the sa thing for quite so ti.
Since their engagent was invalidated, Jedrick has seldom co ho and has spent more ti at the base, dealing with all organizational matters.
Conrad, their father, also expressed concern, but he later learned that Jedrick was solely concerned with growing the company.
"I agree with you." Jonathan, too, wanted to talk to Jedrick about his feelings for them. Despite his entire agreent with the arrangent, nothing seems to settle for him.
"I think we need to find the right ti to talk with him," he ntioned.
Erna just wanted to be rid of the burden that never seed to go away, even when everything around her appeared to be OK. She had finally found the man she loved, and even her parents approved of their relationship.
Everything was going well until it didn't feel as positive as she thought.
"Okay."
The pair completed their brunch and shortly exited the restaurant.
Jonathan went to the workplace. He was soon to run the corporation and has a number of business ventures planned. Everyone recognized his talent and believed he would make an excellent CEO of his generation.
anwhile, Erna had returned ho. She had been uneasy throughout the morning, but she refused to dwell on it and instead went to visit her brother.
Kaden has recently been acting peculiarly and barely speaking with her. She had a strong bond with her brother, who was only eleven. Spending ti with him and talking to him made her happy.
But it's been a long ti since they did that.
Erna entered his room and found him curled up on the bed. He closed his eyes and shivered.
"Kaden, what happened?" Erna dashed to his side and caressed his forehead.
"Oh my God, you are burning," she exclaid.
When Kaden heard his sister's voice, he cautiously opened his eyes and turned to face her.
"Sis, don't go with him; that man is a bad guy."
Erna scowled, unable to comprehend his remarks. She assud he was having a temperature-related hallucination, but she had no idea Kaden was warning her, not blabbering nonsense.
"Okay, Kaden, I won't go anywhere," she reassured her brother before promptly assisting him.
Since their parents were away, she stayed at her brother's side till his temperature dropped.
She instructed the maid to make sothing healthy for Kaden before leaving his side for a few minutes and returning to her room.
She found her phone vibrating on the table and hurriedly unlocked it.
'Sorry, Erna. I won't be able to eat dinner with you. I have a eting with a client and will be out for so ti.'
Erna sighed and responded to his SMS with, 'Okay.' She was about to put the phone back on the table when Jedrick called.
Worry raced across her face as she considered answering his phone. She hadn't spoken with him in a long ti, and almost as soon as her relationship with Jonathan was approved, she felt compelled to confront Jedrick.
So when he called her after so many days, she hesitated. But suddenly sothing clicked in her head, and she imdiately punched the answer button to accept his call.

[Jedrick's Penthouse].
"I apologize if I bothered you, but I had wanted to et you for a long ti," Jedrick replied with an apologetic look.
He asked Erna to see him, despite her reservations at first, but she eventually accepted since she believed it was the least she could do to alleviate her guilt.
"I was not ignoring you, Jedrick. I rely waited to et you and Jonathan. We both felt that we did not accomplish enough to earn your forgiveness.
"But I've already forgiven you," he added, smiling.
"You did, but we still don't feel right about keeping you in the dark," Erna said, lowering her gaze in sha.
"Yes, you are right" Erna was drawn in by Jedrick's comnts, but she subsequently smiled.
"If you had told you liked Jonathan, I would not have consented to this arrangent. You know I started developing feelings for you."
Her eyes blinked as Jedrick's words struck her directly in the heart. She had seen how he treated and looked at her, but she ignored it all since she couldn't reciprocate his feelings when she loved soone else.
Erna attempted to forget Jonathan, but who was she fooling? The man she adored was his younger brother. So it was aningless for her to get over her feelings when the man was always around her.
"I apologize for hurting you, Jedrick. I know it was my mistake for not confronting you about it sooner, but I did my best to give this relationship a chance until I saw that Jonathan was simply denying it because he felt guilty for hurting you in any way," Erna reasoned.
Jonathan respected Jedrick, and when he discovered that his parents had chosen Erna for him, he refrained from expressing his feelings further.
Jedrick's gaze grew icy, and the corners of his mouth curved into a malicious smirk.
"Let us not talk about the past, Erna. If you honestly want to ask my forgiveness, co have a drink with . I want to talk with you and give you and Jonathan my blessing."
Erna felt weird when she noticed the cold glimr in Jedrick's eyes, but she dismissed it and saw this as an opportunity to gain Jedrick's forgiveness.
No matter what, all she wanted was for everyone to be happy for them and for her guilt to subside.
Leonard soon walked away with a bottle of wine, but not before she heard him tell Jedrick sothing.
