Stefan received a call from Eveline when Ella was inside Mischelle's room, so he went to the balcony to answer it.

"You will not be able to escape, brother Stefan. I need a treat." Eveline spoke as soon as the line connected, leaving Stefan stunned at her remarks.

He expected sothing else, but she said sothing different.

"I'm not running Eve. Tell where you would like to take you. Just tell, and your wish will be granted," Stefan said, matching her upbeat deanor.

"et now," she murmured, and the connection fell silent.

"Brother Stefan, did you hear ?" Eveline inquired, and he silently humd.

"I agree, but Eve, there's an issue. I am currently at Ella's apartnt, and she reportedly needs because her mother is not well."

"What happened to her?" Eveline asked right away. She could detect the strain in his voice, which made her wonder if everything was okay.

Stefan pursed his lips. "Nothing critical to worry about, but it appears she overstressed, which caused her to fall ill. How about we et tomorrow?" He said, and she accepted imdiately.

Eveline was about to hang up when Stefan abruptly said, "Eve, did Gabriel speak with you about-"

"Yes, he did brother Stefan and if you really ask , then I don't know what I should say because everyti I learn sothing about that man, I feel disgusted."

Eveline assud Stefan was now aware of everything relating to her, so she didn't linger and spoke quickly, keeping her thoughts clean.

"I am sorry; I should not have asked," he apologized for upsetting her mood.

"You don't have to, Brother Stefan. I am trying to get used to it," she said faintly over the phone.

"Anyways, I would also want to et Miss Ella, now that we-"

"Yes you can and I am sure this ti it would be different." Stefan attempted to lighten the situation, and she agreed with him.

They soon finished the conversation, and Eveline leaned against the railing, peering into the night, which appeared to beco black without the hope of light above.

As she stood there, it dawned on her that this was the reason she had been given a chance in life and reincarnated to discover such a significant truth about her existence.

So, what must have happened following her death? Her father, her mother, was still alive back then, and if so, what happened next?

Eveline growled as she hid her face in her hand, reclining on the railing. She felt a headache coming through, but a knock interrupted her thoughts, and she hurriedly returned to her room.

She then went to open the door and discovered Erna standing outside.

....

"I hope I am not bothering you," Erna remarked, making herself comfortable on the couch as Eveline joined her.

"No, it's fine. I was only staring at the sky from the balcony," she continued, dismissing her concerns.

Erna was so busy caring for her mother that she didn't have ti to have a deep conversation with Eveline. She understood that after knowing the truth, it was her job to speak with her about what went wrong, but she was too embarrassed to address her.

Eveline may have maturely understood the entire scenario, but there were certain points they wanted to clarify.

"I expected you to confront ; after all, we hid such a trendous fact from you. But, as your mother, I couldn't help but notice you acting maturely as if reality didn't touch you." Eveline paused for a few seconds, her words finally setting in.

She wanted to decline like an understanding child, but no reaction ca out, causing Erna's eyes to well up with tears.

"I know I made a mistake, but Jonathan never wanted you to learn about Jedrick after discovering who he was. He dreaded losing us both, so he deleted all evidence that could point to him." Erna carefully reached for Eveline's hand, shattering her blank look and causing her eyes to flicker slightly at the diversion.

"I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I decided to et him, and I had never in my life considered cheating on your father. He was the guy I loved more than anything else in my life, but I felt compelled to apologize to Jedrick. But I never believed the man was very adept at manipulating people, which is what he did. Knowing how sad I was, he took advantage of it and spiked my drink that night, and after that I..." Erna felt her voice crack as she struggled to finish her sentence.

She still regretted that mont, and now that Eveline knows what happened, she feels humiliated.

Eveline moved imdiately to hug her mother. "You don't need to explain anything, Mom. I understand how it feels, and please don't be ashad of what occurred, because through you, I got Dad, who loves unconditionally."

Eveline refused to accept Jedrick as her father, and this was engraved on the stone. However, she did not want her mother to feel inferior as a result of what had transpired.

Erna grinned and pulled back. She had the most beautiful daughter, and she was proud that, despite not being present, Jonathan had raised her wonderfully. She was just like him, valuing relationships and loving wholeheartedly.

"AHEM-HM" Soone cleared their throat, and they found Jonathan standing by the door, staring at them with narrowed eyes.

"You two are forgetting about . I need a hug, too," he replied, and they both extended their arms to him.

Everything felt so easy because they knew that no matter what happened, they would stand together, and Jedrick would never be able to shake their love for each other.

"Okay, I suppose we should depart, honey. Gabriel has been waiting downstairs to invade his domain," Jonathan joked, leaving Eveline stunned.

Erna chuckled as she saw her daughter blush at the ntion of Gabriel's na, and they quickly exited the room only for Gabriel to enter.

"Why did they walk out laughing? Did I miss any jokes? Gabriel inquired, having no idea what had happened inside. Jonathan just asked him to wait downstairs before entering Eveline's room.

Despite being urged to wait, the delay forced Gabriel to reach his limit of tolerance and make his way to her room, only to watch the couple leave smiling at each other.

Eveline felt embarrassed, so she grabbed the pillow and flung it at him. "It's entirely your fault." "Your shalessness gave them a reason to laugh at !" she cried, leaving Gabriel startled.

Even though he managed to evade the pillow, he felt uneasy watching her jump upon the bed and sit with her arms crossed and glaring at him.

"When did I act shalessly in front of them?" he questioned, picking up the pillow from the floor and walking over to her.

Setting the pillow aside, he sat in front of her and watched her fu. Her eyes were like daggers aid at him, and he couldn't help but appreciate her furious expression.

A smile appeared on his lips, infuriating Eveline even more, and she raised her hand to hit him, only to be pinned to the bed the next second.

"Not again," Gabriel mumbled, looming above her.

"Gabriel, leave . Today, I'm going to return your thoughts back to his ho." Eveline wriggled, attempting to extricate herself from his clutches, but Gabriel refused to let go.

She eventually ran out of energy and abandoned him, but she refused to look at him, which caused his heart to contract.

"Look at , Eve. I want to know why you are furious," he said, gradually releasing his grip on her wrist.

Eveline continued to throw tantrums, and when he ran out of tolerance, he grabbed her chin and forced her to face him.

Despite the darkness in his eyes, he whispered softly, "Tell .".

Eveline bit her lower lip and noticed his gaze darken. "They were laughing because of you?" she said, a strange sensation rising in her stomach.

"?" he inquired, lifting his eyebrows.

"Hm. They wanted to give us privacy now that you had ti to spend with ," she continued, avoiding his inquiring stare, but the next second she heard him giggle.

Eveline gave him a furious glare and imdiately felt him lose hold of her wrist and fall to her side. He continued to chuckle till tears stread down his cheeks.

"Seriously, now you are going to laugh about it?" She asked, raising her head slightly and looked at him in astonishnt.

"So what should I do, hn? Even your folks are fine with everything, and you are going all shy. You should get used to it, baby. "When I don't get offended by their cheeky remarks, you shouldn't either," Gabriel said, tapping the tip of her nose amusingly, leaving Eveline completely stunned.

Gabriel's smile was so contagious that after staring at him for a mont, she sighed, a smile spreading across her lips, and dropped next to him.

Gabriel drew her in closer, his arm securely wrapped around her as she placed her head on his chest, listening to his soothing heartbeat.

"This feels so good." Eveline whispered, her mind wandering elsewhere.
