Eveline had been waiting for Gabriel's call for quite so ti, but his extended delay had worn her down, so she went for a walk in the garden.
She was becoming agitated for no apparent reason and required so fresh air to clear her mind.
As she stepped out of the house, she observed her father's car proceed off from the Mansion gate, leaving her wondering where he was driving at the mont.
He had been in his room, supposed to asleep but now he was gone.
"Did sothing happen in the company?" She mumbled in despair at his worries, which kept him rushing every now and then.
Unable to stand still, she swiftly took out her phone and called him, but to her astonishnt, he declined.
"What the- why is dad declining my call?" She groaned and tried calling him again, only to discover that he had shut off his phone after sending her a lengthy ssage.
Eveline furrowed her brow in perplexity as she read the passage.
'I'll be out of town for a day. Do not fear, I have checked with the doctor and my request has been authorized. This is sothing vital that I need to focus on.'
Eveline's expression furrowed as she found Jonathan's words perplexing. He sounded serious and direct, as if he knew she wouldn't stop calling him until he responded.
So he devised a direct way.
Eveline scowled and closed her eyes. She took a few big breaths and dialed his phone again, only to discover it turned off.
"Why is dad acting this way?" She inquired, unable to determine where Jonathan had unexpectedly gone.
Just as she was about to seek him down, her phone buzzed and she looked down to see Gabriel's na flash on the screen.
She answered the phone right away and was ready to tell him about Jonathan when he interrupted her.
'Co out. I'm outside your gates." Eveline scrunched her brow and tilted her head slightly, noticing Gabriel's car parked outside the gate.
He stood there waving his hand inside.
"Okay, give a minute," she said before marching to the gate and stepping out.
"What are you doing here? Did the eting go well? What did Mr. Willow say?" Eveline besieged him with questions, wondering what would happen.
"Relax and get into the car first," Gabriel reassured her by holding her shoulder.
Eveline blinked, but she was compelled to accept his words and enter the car before they drove away.

"Why... did you bring ice-cream?" Eveline inquired while watching Gabriel get into the car after getting her favorite ice cream.
"Because I want you to calm down, and there is also so news for you to celebrate," he continued, prompting her to furrow her brow in uncertainty, but her eyes quickly widened and she looked at him in surprise.
"Did he?" she inquired, and Gabriel nodded in response.
"Yes, he did. So, please finish the ice cream before it lts." Eveline pursed her lips and looked at the object in her fingers.
Her face was marked with relief when she took a scoop of dessert.
"So why didn't you tell first? I was waiting for your call," she grumbled.
"I thought it would be great to see you and tell you in person, but there is condition he put on and also I ca across sothing strange during the eting"
Eveline put down her food and took a wary look at him.
"The old man wants to keep the eting a secret," he explained, and she nodded skeptically.
"And what's the strange thing your noticed?" She queried, unaware of the first thing he said because she was more interested on the second.
Gabriel paused, giving her a contemplative look, and stated, "We were being watched the whole ti."
"Watched?" she repeated.
"Yes, we were been watched and I am unsure if they heard us or not" explained the man.
Gabriel recognized why Blake was guarded in front of him: the old man knew every action he took was recorded.
The man who served as his assistant, as well as the guards outside the room, appeared skeptical.
Leon also corroborated it because he noticed sothing unusual about Roger's behavior.
Sothing was wrong, and they knew it. Furthermore, Blake's unclear request added fuel to his suspicion.
He didn't want to keep this eting with Eveline a secret, especially since she had initiated it.
"Yes, we were watched, but I'm not sure if they heard us," the man explained.
Gabriel understood why Blake was standing in front of him: the elderly man knew that every action he perford was recorded.

'Wouldn't that endanger his life, or is he being overly cautious?" he asked, giving her a surprised look.
"Sothing is wrong here," she inquired.
Eveline pinched her brows together as her mind began to race. Yes, the elderly man was being crafty because he wanted his plan to work, but agreeing to et her didn't sit good.
"I swear, when you think like that, my heart falls to my stomach. You scare with your silence, Eve." Gabriel despised it when she thought to herself, completely cutting him out, and he couldn't help but turn into a child who needed to know everything about her.
She glares at him and then shoves a spoonful of ice cream into his mouth.
"You worry for nothing," she replied, stopping her thoughts and enjoying her ice cream instead.
Gabriel could not help but sneer as she continued to eat.
Now that Blake had agreed to et with her, she needed to make certain that no one, not even a shadow, discovered this knowledge.
