Gabriel had just entered his office from a stressful eting when his assistant walked in to inform him of Eveline's tenacity in contacting him.

It was strange to see her looking for his assistant's phone number to contact him, but he nodded and contacted her back right away.

The phone rang twice, and she answered it as if she waiting for him to call back.

He hadn't spoken to her in a long ti, but he knew she wanted to say sothing, so he waited for her.

"I am sorry for disturbing you in between your busy schedules but I will be quick,so please don't get upset"

Gabriel's eyes softened when he heard her voice again after such a long ti.

The last ti he heard from her, she had co up with evidence but failed to prove it because it was snatched away out of nowhere. After that, he didn't hear her say anything to him since he told her to give up and not waste his ti.

Gabriel couldn't help but feel a twinge in his heart as he rembered his words and noticed the tiredness in her voice, indicating that she had been sobbing.

'Just hold on for a while, love. I will make up for every tear you shed because of . Just for a while, please' Gabriel wanted to say it out loud, but he couldn't since the circumstances between them needed his silence.

"What is it that you want to say?" He worked up the guts to speak. His voice was husky as he attempted to retain his harsh deanor.

Eveline kept quiet for a few seconds before opening her mouth to speak.

"Could you co ho early? There is sothing I want to tell you," she sweetly pleaded, sinking his heart with her pitiful situation.

It was all due of him. He drained her confidence and self-esteem to the point that she resembled nothing more than a body without a soul.

"Okay," he said without hesitation, and the call went dead the following second.

Gabriel had no idea what Eveline wanted to say, but he couldn't stay away from her now that he knew the truth.

He needed to be quick and get down with Tiffany, so he dialed her number and called her.

She quickly responded, greeting him with a warm voice.

"Hello, baby, missing already"

Gabriel gritted his teeth, forcing back his disgust whenever she spoke to him like that.

If he hadn't seen her intentions when she initially tried to make a move on him, he would never have recognized what kind of woman she was.

Her deception of Eveline in an attempt to brainwash him made him aware of her obvious aims.

She wanted him, he wanted her out of their lives, so why not play along?

"I want to see you now."

"Sure. I am on my way," she responded quickly before they hung up the phone.

Gabriel was looking forward to this encounter, hoping to finally get the truth out of her.

Eveline spent the entire day sitting in her room, staring at the divorce paperwork she had prepared with her lawyer.

Her father, who learned of the news, attempted to contact her, and after a long delay, she addressed him about her decision, believing it was best for them because she could no longer envision a future with Gabriel.

Jonathan wanted to ask her to give it so ti, but the way she sounded indicated that she didn't want to continue in this loveless marriage any longer and wanted to liberate themselves from any further misery.

Jonathan said, "This ho is always open for you and your father will always support you" as they terminated the chat.

Eveline realized she couldn't make Gabriel fall in love with her, but she also didn't want to be a barrier between his beloved and him.

Yes, she felt devastated to learn that the one she had truly trusted with all of her life's secrets was the one who stole it, and right in front of her eyes.

Tiffany had never made her feel as if she was betraying her. She knew everything about her life, from her love to her sorrow, but she chose to betray her, and to make matters worse, Gabriel was also implicated.

Eveline felt like a fool right now, but she wouldn't let them laugh at her because she was going to finish this before their shadow fell on her child.

She would leave them permanently and never interfere in their lives. She would bring her child alone, weighing down Gabriel with anything concerning them.

If he discovered happiness with Tiffany, she would let him have it.

Now that she is sitting there and thinking about their previous encounter, she recalls him telling her, "I love you."

Knowing the dynamics of the failing marriage made her initially believe it was a delusion, but it suddenly made sense.

It was not for her, but for the lady he fantasized about having sex with.

She had no idea when it started. She was so lost in her loneliness that she didn't notice what was going on behind her back.

'She was a true fool...' She chuckled at her fate and wiped away the tears streaming down her cheeks.

She had no idea how long she had been in her room, but the darkness outside the window indicated that it was ti.

Ding, dong...

Her ears perked up at the sound of the doorbell, and she quickly glanced at the paper before standing up and rushing to open the door.

Eveline had given the workers the day off since she wanted to keep this discussion private.

She soon approached the door and grabbed the handle. She took a big breath, opened the door, and smiled at Tiffany.

"I assud you would never call , but I am delighted you did. It's been a while." Tiffany hugged Eveline out of habit, and they both entered the penthouse.

"Yes, it's been a while, and it think it will the last ti we will et each other" Tiffany's smile wavered upon hearing her remarks.

There was sothing weird about Eveline today. Her face appeared haggard, and her eyes were swollen, as if she hadn't slept in years.

"Please have a seat," she smiled as they entered the open balcony as she offered Tiffany a seat on the chair, puzzling her even more.

It had been a while since she'd seen Eveline. She had been dating Gabriel behind her back for so ti, so when she called her unexpectedly, she was intrigued.

Tiffany was overjoyed when Gabriel caved in to her attempts, but he opted to keep it a secret, which she agreed to.

Tiffany knew Eveline's marriage life was collapsing, thanks to her, but she still had ti to disclose it before her.

Once Gabriel ultimately ends his relationship with her by divorcing her and accepting her as his wife before the entire world, she would have to bear her.

Tiffany had been dreaming of becoming Mrs. Winston for a long ti, and with Gabriel by her side, she would soon see her dream co true. But why was Eveline's strange conduct that made my heart race with weirdly?

'Do not tell she has already given up on their relationship.'

The reality dawned on her as she watched Eveline take the seat in front of her.

They were on the fortieth story of the penthouse, with a rush of wind flowing across them, making the air between them frigid.

"What are you saying, Eveline? Why wouldn't we et again. Are we not friends anymore?" Tiffany asked, putting on an innocent face that made Eveline smile.

"Your acting ability is quite remarkable," Tiffany's smile faded, and her gaze turned stern.

"How long you have been hooking up with my husband?" Eveline inquired directly. Her voice was hard and betraying, but her eyes showed wrath as she gazed at her.

Eveline tried to take things calmly, but she was already overflowing with bottled-up emotions, and after learning what her friend and husband were up to, she was unable to contain her disgust.

She wanted to deal with Tiffany and Gabriel simultaneously, confront them all at once, but because her husband was not around, she decided to start with her so-called friend.

Tiffany's face beca pale as soon as she said those words, and her eyes squinted in perplexity.

'How did she...?' she wondered.

"Don't overwork your brain. I happen to see your text ssages on Gabriel's phone. I must say you are far more awful than you look to be. Smart move, huh?"

Eveline's words were like needles pricking her flesh. She mocked her without showing any sympathy. Not that she expected it, but she should be careful what she says; Gabriel would not accept her disrespect to his future bride.

Tiffany's stunned expression changed to a devious smirk, leaving Eveline's lips twitching at the transformation.

"Then I must say you are a dumbass fool to fall for my sche, Eveline," Tiffany smiled, her malicious gaze fixed on her.

Sothing nasty was transferring through them, which triggered sothing in Eveline's mind.

Eveline's eyes widened in disbelief, and she swiftly stood up, feeling an unsettling feeling creep into her body.

Everything started to make sense to her. Tiffany was always by her side when sothing went wrong between her and Gabriel.

When she was drugged, she didn't realise Tiffany was serving her drinks because she noticed her beco concerned about the party.

She mistakenly believed that her concern for her motivated her to look after her. But she as wrong.

'Does that an she—'

Eveline felt like falling down the cliff and bashing her head against the rock as she realized it was all part of her plan.

"Why, Tiffany! I thought you cared for , but you were constantly backstabbing ."
