"Son, how was it? Is there anything going on at your workplace?" Bai Yuhua was the first to speak when she saw Mu Qiancheng return.

Jiang Xue heard her mother-in-law speak but didn’t say anything. Instead, she looked at Mu Qiancheng and noticed his expression didn’t seem quite right.

"There’s a mission," Mu Qiancheng said, looking up at Jiang Xue, who was standing on the steps watching him. He couldn’t help but feel guilty.

Originally, he planned to stay a few more days this ti to properly take care of Jiang Xue. But now, he had been back for less than a day and had to leave again, which made him feel he had let her down.

"When are you leaving?" Mu Siwu asked.

"I have to leave imdiately."

"What, why so urgent?" Bai Yuhua was taken aback. She hadn’t prepared anything for her son, not even food for the journey.

"Yes, the mission is urgent, I must rush back as soon as possible."

"Alright, you serve the country, obeying orders cos first," Mu Siwu was reluctant to part with his son. However, he was a reasonable man, so despite his reluctance, he didn’t say much.

"Then have a good talk with Xue’er. I’ll go get you so food for the road." Bai Yuhua initially wanted to chat with her son, but seeing Jiang Xue standing by, she decided to give them the opportunity.

Now that the relationship between her son and daughter-in-law has finally improved, her son is about to leave again. Who knows when he will return, she worried that by the ti her son returned, the relationship might have cooled down again.

"Mom, don’t trouble yourself; I’ll say a few words to Xue’er and then leave." Mu Qiancheng did not want Bai Yuhua to tire herself. But Bai Yuhua didn’t think much and went straight to the kitchen, pulling Mu Siwu along with her.

Very soon, only Jiang Xue and Mu Qiancheng were left standing face to face in the courtyard.

"Xue’er," Mu Qiancheng called Jiang Xue’s na, but hesitated, unsure of what to say to her. They’ve been married for less than a year, yet the ti they’ve actually spent together is not even ten days.

Previously, when they got married, he barely stayed at ho and left in a hurry. Later, he ca back once more, but only stayed a day before leaving.

"Qiancheng, you can leave without worry. Don’t worry about and the child, or the family. We’ll all be fine, and I’ll be waiting for you to co back." Jiang Xue looked at Mu Qiancheng, not wanting him to have too many worries. After all, missions are dangerous.

If he has concerns in his heart and isn’t focused on the mission, it would increase his danger.

"Xue’er, I—?" Mu Qiancheng’s eyes reddened in an instant. Ever since they got married, every separation had been marked by argunts.

This ti, hearing Jiang Xue say such things, he really didn’t know what to say. Indeed, Jiang Xue had changed and no longer acted as immature as before.

"Qiancheng, don’t say anything. Just promise you will protect yourself, don’t get hurt, and definitely don’t sacrifice yourself. Rember, I and the child are waiting for you at ho, and mom and dad are also waiting for you."

"Xue’er, don’t worry, I will definitely return safely." Mu Qiancheng earnestly promised Jiang Xue.

"Let’s go, have another look at our son, and I’ll help you pack your bags." Jiang Xue, holding back her inner sadness and reluctance, took the initiative to hold Mu Qiancheng’s hand and head towards the room.

The child was still sleeping soundly, completely unaware that his father was leaving.

Speaking of packing things, there really wasn’t much to pack.
