Chapter 1281: Chapter 1281: Wedding 3
He Xiaobei knew he hadn’t had it tough like other kids. He had thick winter clothes during the cold winters and a fan in the sumr, things that were luxuries in the eyes of so children.
He clearly rembered another child who wet his pants during class and had no clothes to change into; he wore the sa cotton clothes the following day.
At the ti, he felt pity for that child and even purposely brought a set of his clothes from ho to give to him. He still rembers the look in that child’s eyes, which is why he knows that his good life now is all thanks to his mommy and daddy.
The young He Xiaobei had already planted a seed of gratitude in his heart.
“My godson is so sensible.”
Yang Xiaoxi’s eyes welled up with excitent; she finally saw Shen Mianmian and He Nan get married. Everyone here knew how difficult their journey had been together.
“It’s a happy day; no tears,” Cheng Feiyang comforted her, wrapping his arm around her shoulder.
Yang Xiaoxi hit him, “Who’s crying.”
The people in the room were chatting back and forth when Ruan Feng and Ruan Lingyu walked in. Everyone imdiately made space for them. Ruan Feng looked at them with a relieved smile and nodded repeatedly.
“Good, good, good. You two are finally married. As a father, I’m very happy for you.”
He paused, then continued, “Xiaonan, I’ve watched you grow up too. From today, I entrust my daughter to your care. I hope you won’t let Mianmian down.”
“Dad, rest assured, I will take good care of Mianmian in the future,”
He Nan said calmly.
He rarely speaks such emotional words in public; the fact he spoke them now showed how much he valued Shen Mianmian.
Ruan Feng nodded repeatedly, “Good, good, good. With your words, I’m relieved.”
Ruan Lingyu looked at Shen Mianmian and He Nan. She also wanted to say sothing but didn’t manage to. Well, it was okay as long as He Nan treated Shen Mianmian well. Whether those words were spoken or not didn’t matter much; they might not even want to hear them.
Ruan Yiqian patted He Nan on the shoulder and said, “Xiaonan, today we officially hand Mianmian over to you, and I heard everything you said. If one day you do sothing that makes her sad, I’ll imdiately take my sister back.”
“You won’t have that chance,” He Nan said.
In one sentence, he made his intentions clear.
“Mianmian and He Nan truly are a perfect match, a talented man and a beautiful woman.”
“He Nan is a solid kid. We’ve all watched him grow up. Ruan Feng and Lingyu, you’re fortunate.”
“Yiqian isn’t getting any younger. When can we look forward to Yiqian’s wedding?”
“Lingyu, don’t just worry about your daughter, you should also take your son into consideration.”
Everyone laughed and chatted, verbally noting how well Shen Mianmian and He Nan matched. Yet in their hearts, they thought Shen Mianmian was out of He Nan’s league. After all, though Shen Mianmian was Ruan Mianmian, she had grown up in the countryside, a stark contrast to He Nan’s upbringing.
Old Master He and Fu Hua were also easy-going to accept such a daughter-in-law. If it were them, they definitely would not agree.
But then again, the two children have feelings for each other. If their parents disagreed, it could very well end the many years of friendship between the Ruan and He families, especially since their parents had ntioned marrying their children off when they were just kids.
