Tang Ling chuckled, "If I really wanted to do sothing, I would have done it while you were asleep just now."
She took a deep breath and said, "I’m now working on immigration procedures. Once everything is settled, I plan to take my parents abroad to live. From then on... I might not co back."
"You’re immigrating?" Shen Mianmian was sowhat surprised.
"Yeah!" Tang Ling shrugged, her face expressing relief, "What happened with Xingxing, I indeed failed in my responsibilities. Her death made realize a lot of things. If I continue to stay in Beijing, I’m afraid I’ll spend the rest of my life drowning in guilt and self-reproach. I don’t want to have regrets, I want to give my parents a peaceful life while they are still healthy. They’ve had a hard life these past years."
"It’s good that you’ve co to terms with it. No matter where, being together as a family is the most important." Shen Mianmian said.
Tang Ling nodded and then suddenly asked, "Mianmian, I want to attend your wedding. Would you welco ?"
"Of course, you’re welco." Shen Mianmian sincerely said, "If we hadn’t fallen for the sa person, we might have been really good friends."
"I used to think that too." Tang Ling showed a face of regret, "Too bad, what’s done is done. But now, I’ve moved on."
Shen Mianmian smiled faintly, but Tang Ling suddenly asked again, "Mianmian, aren’t you going to invite in to sit? We’ve been talking at the door for quite a while."
"Ah, I forgot, sorry."
Shen Mianmian invited Tang Ling into the yard. She poured a cup of tea for Tang Ling, and when she ca out, Tang Ling was looking at the book on the stone bench, "Mianmian, you also like reading books?"
"I just flip through them when I’m bored. I generally prefer watching dramas." Shen Mianmian said casually.
Tang Ling was a bit surprised, "I thought actors who work on TV dramas wouldn’t like watching TV."
"It’s just so people, I guess!" Shen Mianmian placed the chrysanthemum tea in front of Tang Ling.
Looking at Tang Ling’s tranquil deanor, it was hard to imagine that monts ago Tang Ling was talking like a madwoman, saying things that would make one’s hair stand on end.
"No wonder He Nan likes you, he’s usually quite reserved too. In so ways, you two are quite similar." Tang Ling said.
Shen Mianmian smiled, "Maybe! Actually, if you really ask He Nan why he likes , he probably couldn’t tell you, just like I can’t really explain why I like him."
"Can you tell about how you two t?" Tang Ling asked curiously, "I’m really curious about the scene where you two t."
"Back then I was just a kid. He Nan didn’t really have any thoughts about , at most, it was just out of sympathy to lend a hand!" Shen Mianmian didn’t want to discuss her past with He Nan in front of others, so she answered sowhat perfunctorily.
Tang Ling seed to sense this, so she didn’t press further and instead said, "He Nan looks very cold-hearted, but he’s unexpectedly gentle with you."
She sighed and changed the subject, "He promised before not to tell anyone about what happened to , but he was worried that you would misunderstand, so he still told you. To be honest with you, at the beginning, I really did want to use Xingxing to sabotage your relationship. I just didn’t expect that he would tell you about Xingxing’s background, and from that mont on, I knew he truly loves you. I simply couldn’t interfere with your relationship."
Hearing her ntion this, Shen Mianmian openly admitted, "The first ti I t you, I was truly a bit inclined to believe what you said."
